Short answer: Death Dealer is not a confirmed free-to-play full game. As of 13 October 2026, Psychotronic has released a free demo, while the Steam listing says the complete game is planned for Early Access on 4 November 2026. The developer intends to charge a lower price during Early Access and raise it at version 1.0, but no numeric price has been published.
That means you can try the demo without buying the forthcoming full game, but you should not assume the finished release will be free.
What “free to play” means for Death Dealer
“Free to play” normally describes a complete game that can be played without an upfront purchase, often with optional spending inside the game. Death Dealer currently fits a narrower description: it has a free demo, but the full multiplayer horror party game is still unreleased.

Is there a Death Dealer demo?
Yes. Psychotronic announced on 7 October 2026 that “The Death Dealer demo is OUT NOW.” The announcement separates the demo from the unreleased Early Access game, so downloading the demo should not be interpreted as buying or receiving the full version.
The demo is the clearest way to see whether the game’s unusual mix of card play, hunting and party-horror action suits your group before spending money. It also includes a single-player tutorial, which is useful if you want to learn the systems before inviting other players.
How to find the demo on Steam
- Open the Steam client or Steam’s web store.
- Search for Death Dealer and open the listing published by Psychotronic.
- Look for the demo option on the game page and choose the install or play control shown there.
- Install the demo on a Windows PC that meets the listing’s requirements.
- Launch the tutorial first if you need to learn the card game, hunt and equipment systems.

Why the tutorial matters
A single-player tutorial gives you a low-pressure place to understand the card-game-to-hunt transition, test weapons and learn how pickups work. It is also a sensible first step for groups: everyone can learn the basics separately before trying an online match.
What the demo does not prove
Playing the demo does not establish the final number of levels, the eventual weapon roster, the quantity of cosmetics or the balance of the finished game. Psychotronic says those areas may expand during development, so demo content should not be treated as a complete product specification.
When is the full game coming?
The Steam listing gives 4 November 2026 as the planned Early Access release date. “Planned” is important: the date is a target, and the listing’s availability status can change before launch.
Psychotronic expects the game to remain in Early Access for around 18 months, while explicitly noting that the schedule may change as development progresses and the team responds to player feedback. An 18-month estimate is not a promise of a version 1.0 date; it is the developer’s current projection for the testing and development period.

Until the Early Access build appears on the store, the demo is the only publicly announced way to play Death Dealer.

How much will Death Dealer cost?
No numeric amount is shown on the official Steam listing. Psychotronic’s pricing plan is relative rather than exact: the game will be offered at a lower price during Early Access, and the price will increase when it reaches version 1.0.

This wording establishes an intended price change, not a dollar, pound or euro figure. It also does not state whether the Early Access price will be discounted for a limited launch period, whether existing buyers will receive all future updates, or what the final 1.0 price will be. Those details should be checked on the Steam listing when the purchase option becomes active.
What the pricing plan means for a buyer
- Buying during Early Access: expected to cost less than buying at version 1.0, according to the developer’s plan.
- Waiting for version 1.0: may mean paying more after the announced increase.
- Buying before a price is posted: is impossible through the official listing because the full game is not yet available for purchase.

The official listing identifies Death Dealer as a Windows game requiring online co-op and broadband internet. Steam also publishes minimum and recommended PC specifications on the store page. Check those live specifications before installing, because hardware requirements can change while a game is in development.

What may be added after launch
Psychotronic says the planned full version may gain levels, weapons, character cosmetics and gameplay variations. The developer also expects to make bug fixes, balance changes and general polish during development. These are plans, not a guaranteed content schedule or a fixed list of post-launch updates.
The planned additions explain why the Early Access price is intended to be lower. Buyers would be entering while the game is still being expanded and adjusted. Players who prefer a more complete and polished package may want to wait for version 1.0, while players comfortable with development changes may value the lower planned Early Access price.
Common mistakes when checking the game’s status
Confusing the demo with the full release
A demo announcement can appear in searches even while the store page says the full game is unavailable. Always check whether the Steam page offers a demo, the complete game, or both.

A free demo proves only that the preview can be tried without buying the full game. It does not establish that the complete Early Access or version 1.0 release will have no upfront price.
Assuming a price from a rumor or regional conversion
The official listing gives no numeric amount. Wait for the price displayed in your Steam region instead of treating a forum estimate, a currency conversion or an old store cache as an announcement.
Treating 4 November 2026 as an unchangeable date
The listing describes that date as planned, and the developer says the Early Access schedule may change. Recheck the store page near launch.
