Yes. The current Daily Red website is free, requires no account, and has nothing to install. You can open it in a mobile browser because it runs on the web, but the site does not publish a list of supported phones, operating systems, or browser versions. JavaScript must be enabled.
Daily Red gives you one official battle per day against Red. After that battle, unlimited practice runs are available, and the daily team changes at midnight in your own time zone.

What Daily Red is
Daily Red is a browser-based fan game built around a daily Pokémon battle. The current website presents a six-versus-six match against Red, using Pokémon Showdown’s battle simulator with Generation 3 rules. You select a lead Pokémon, choose moves or switches each turn, and try to defeat Red’s fixed team.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchEvery player receives the same random team of six level-100 Pokémon for that calendar day. The available pool is limited to Pokémon from Generations 1 through 3. Red’s lineup does not change: Pikachu, Espeon, Snorlax, Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise.
#1 Best Overall
- Shape the world and build a cozy new life with Pokémon as a Ditto transformed to look like a human.
- Use other Pokémon’s moves, like Bulbasaur’s Leafage, to revitalize and navigate the world around you.
- Meet and befriend more Pokémon as you help nature flourish.
- Gather materials to create items and furniture, till the fields to grow delicious crops, build homes for the Pokémon you meet, and more—there’s so much to do!
- Experience a world with varied weather, real-time days and nights, and other surprises.
The website is separate from an older open-source Daily Red project on GitHub by amoi.builds. The browser version has its own battle engine, so its teams and battles can differ from that project.
Is Daily Red free?
The official site’s FAQ answers the pricing and account question directly: “It’s free and needs no account.” You do not need to create a profile, enter payment details or sign in before starting a battle.
The site also says there is nothing to install for the website version. Independent coverage from VICE, published October 12, 2026, likewise describes opening the game on its website without downloading an app. That makes Daily Red a no-cost web game rather than a paid mobile title or subscription service.

Because the progress is stored locally, changing browsers or devices may not carry the same streak with it. The available information does not describe account-based cloud syncing.
Can you play Daily Red on a phone or tablet?
You can access the current version through a mobile web browser. The evidence supports browser play because Daily Red runs as a website, requires JavaScript and does not require an installation. It does not establish that the game has a dedicated iOS or Android app.
The site does not publish a supported-device matrix, minimum operating-system version or tested browser list. Therefore, “playable on mobile” should be understood as mobile-browser access, not a guarantee for every phone, tablet or browser. A current browser with JavaScript enabled is the sensible starting point.
What mobile play does and does not mean
- Supported by the available information: opening the Daily Red website in a phone or tablet browser.
- Required: JavaScript enabled, since the battle engine will not run without it.
- Not established: a native app, offline play, compatibility with every mobile browser, or testing on a particular phone model.
- Not required: an emulator, a copy of FireRed, a controller or a special gaming phone for the browser version.
How to start on mobile
- Open a modern mobile browser. Use the browser already installed on your phone or tablet and navigate to the official Daily Red website.
- Allow JavaScript. If the page reports that Daily Red needs JavaScript to run the battle, check the browser’s site settings and enable scripts for the page.
- Start the daily battle. Choose your lead Pokémon, then select a move or switch during each turn.
- Finish or leave the battle. If you leave partway through, the site says the interrupted battle waits for you rather than immediately discarding it.
- Use practice after the official run. Once the daily battle is complete, practice runs are unlimited and do not change your streak.
No installation step appears in the website version’s instructions. If a page asks you to install an unrelated package or emulator, verify that you are still on the browser game and not following instructions for the separate GitHub project.

How the daily battle and streak work
One official battle each day
Only one battle counts as your official daily attempt. The limitation applies to the daily challenge, not to practice mode. Completing the official battle records the result for that day and contributes to your streak when you win.
Unlimited practice
After the official battle, you can replay in practice as often as you want. Practice is intended for experimenting with moves, switches and team choices; it does not alter the official streak.
Interrupted battles
If you close the browser or otherwise leave during a battle, the site says the game waits for you. Reopening Daily Red on the same device and browser should let you continue the preserved battle state.
Midnight reset
The daily team changes at midnight in the player’s own time zone. The reset is local to the player rather than tied to one universal worldwide hour. A new six-Pokémon team becomes available after that reset, while the opposing Red lineup remains the fixed set listed above.
What happens to your progress?
Daily Red saves wins and streak information in the browser on the device used to play. This design avoids an account requirement, but it also means your progress is tied to local browser storage. Clearing site data, using private browsing, switching browsers or moving to another device can affect what the game remembers.
For the same reason, a phone and a desktop computer may not show identical streak information even when you visit the same website. The available descriptions do not promise synchronization between devices or recovery of a streak after local browser data is deleted.
Practical precautions
- Use the same browser and device when you want to preserve a streak.
- Avoid clearing that browser’s site data for Daily Red if the streak matters to you.
- Do not assume private or guest browsing will retain progress after the window closes.
- If you switch devices, expect that the new browser may start without the old local record.
Browser version versus the original GitHub project
The name “Daily Red” refers to two related but distinct projects. Confusing them can lead to incorrect assumptions about installation, mobile support and battle behavior.

| Feature | Current website version | Original GitHub fan project |
|---|---|---|
| How you access it | Open the game in a web browser | Build and run the project on your own computer |
| Installation | The site says there is nothing to install | Requires setting up the project and its game environment |
| Game being played | Independent battle engine inspired by the project | The real FireRed game in an emulator |
| Battle behavior | Uses Pokémon Showdown’s simulator with Generation 3 rules | Uses the FireRed game experience |
| Teams and battles | May differ from the original project | Defined by the original project’s implementation |
| Mobile implication | Accessible through a mobile browser, subject to browser compatibility | Described as a computer setup rather than a mobile web game |
The browser game does not require FireRed or an emulator. Conversely, instructions for compiling or emulating the older project are not steps you need to follow to play the current website version.
What rules and teams should you expect?
Your team
The site supplies six level-100 Pokémon selected from Generations 1–3. All players receive the same daily team, so the challenge is shared for that date. The random selection changes when the daily cycle resets.
Red’s team
Red always fields Pikachu, Espeon, Snorlax, Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise in the current website version. Knowing the fixed lineup lets you plan type coverage and switch decisions, but your own six Pokémon are the variable part of the challenge.
Battle rules
The battle engine uses Pokémon Showdown’s simulator under Generation 3 rules. The site’s description identifies the simulator and generation rules, but it does not claim to reproduce every detail of the original FireRed project. Treat the browser game as its own implementation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Mobile troubleshooting
The battle does not start
Check that JavaScript is enabled for the Daily Red site. Script blockers, strict privacy settings or a browser configured to disable JavaScript can prevent the battle interface from loading.
The page looks incomplete
Reload the page in the browser, then check whether content-blocking or reader-mode features are altering the site. Because no official browser-version list is published, the practical remedy is to try another current mobile browser rather than assuming a particular phone is certified.
Your streak is missing
Confirm that you are using the same device and browser as before. Local browser storage holds the progress, so a different browser, private window, cleared site data or another device may not contain the earlier record.

You expected an app
Daily Red’s current version is a website. There is no established claim in the available information that an official iOS or Android app exists. Use the browser address instead of searching for an app download.
You want to replay today’s challenge
Complete or open the official daily battle first. Once it is finished, use practice mode for additional attempts; those runs do not affect the streak.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIs Daily Red an official Pokémon release?
No. The website identifies Daily Red as an unofficial fan project and states that it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc. or The Pokémon Company. That is the site’s own disclaimer, not an independent legal determination.
The disclaimer matters because the game uses Pokémon names, characters and battle concepts while operating independently from the rights holders. It also reinforces why the browser version should not be presented as an official Pokémon mobile app.
What is not documented about mobile compatibility?
The current descriptions do not provide tested phone models, tablet models, operating-system versions, browser versions, screen-size requirements or offline support. They also do not guarantee that every mobile browser will render the battle correctly. Those details may change as the site is updated, so compatibility should be checked directly in the browser you plan to use.
The strongest supported conclusion is narrower and more useful: Daily Red is a free, account-free website game with JavaScript-based battles and no required installation, and it can be attempted from a mobile browser. Device-specific guarantees, a native app and offline play are not established.
