No official announcement says Chapter 7 is Fortnite’s last chapter. As of October 13, 2026, Epic’s latest chapter-specific announcement is for Chapter 7 Season 4. The official pages reviewed do not announce Chapter 8 or settle what comes after Chapter 7, so the future chapter roadmap remains unconfirmed.
What Epic has announced about Chapter 7
Epic’s November 29, 2025, Chapter Seven: Pacific Break update notes marked the chapter’s start. Epic described it as the beginning of “a new era for Fortnite Battle Royale,” but that launch language does not say whether another numbered chapter will follow.

Epic then published a Chapter 7 Season 4: Override announcement on August 20, 2026, confirming that Chapter 7 was still the focus of its chapter-specific announcements at that time.
What remains unconfirmed
Epic’s official Fortnite news archive lists updates through October 1, 2026. In the reviewed archive and announcement pages, Epic did not declare Chapter 7 the final chapter or announce a Chapter 8 launch. That describes what those pages had announced by October 13, 2026; it does not establish Epic’s private plans or rule out a later announcement.

Why the answer may change
Fortnite’s chapter roadmap is time-sensitive. Epic could clarify the future in a later announcement, so the answer should be checked against Epic’s latest official news before relying on it after October 13, 2026. Until Epic makes a clearer statement, neither “Chapter 7 is definitely the last” nor “Chapter 8 is definitely coming” is supported by the announcements cited here.
