Short answer: Brambleghast is not an established choice for Pokémon GO open-league PvP right now. The 2026 Pokémon GO Hub snapshot reports no ranking information for it in Great, Ultra, or Master League, so there is no evidence-based “best league” to recommend. You can experiment with it, but treat any result as a spice pick rather than a proven meta investment.
For a test build, Pokémon GO Hub’s move table gives Hex plus Power Whip the highest displayed damage per cycle (94). That number compares the listed moves in one database table; it does not demonstrate that Brambleghast is competitively viable or that the combination is optimal in every battle situation.
What the current data actually says
The central finding is negative but useful: Pokémon GO Hub’s Brambleghast page contains no ranking information for Great League, Ultra League, or Master League in its 2026 access snapshot. That means the source does not establish a league in which Brambleghast is a ranked performer, nor does it provide a reliable placement against which to compare it with established picks.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
“Unranked” is not the same as “unable to win.” A Pokémon can take favorable matchups, surprise an opponent, or work in a themed team without appearing in a ranking list. It does mean that you should not spend scarce resources on Brambleghast expecting a documented, repeatable role in the open meta. Rankings and move values can change after balance updates, and the source page does not state a specific game-version date or geographic scope for these tables.

The practical decision therefore depends on five questions:
- Do you want a ranked, low-risk investment or an experimental pick?
- Which fast and charged moves can you actually teach?
- Do Brambleghast’s IVs and CP fit the league you want to enter?
- Does its listed type matchup profile cover a weakness on your team?
- Are you willing to test it before spending more Stardust, Candy, or TMs?
Those questions matter more than the species name alone. A move that looks efficient on paper may not reach its first charge in the timing you need, and a high-stat specimen may miss a CP cap or require a costly power-up path. Conversely, a lower-cost specimen you already own can be a sensible way to learn whether the Pokémon fills a role your team lacks.
Great, Ultra, and Master League: no proven winner
Because no league has a source-backed ranking, the three formats should be treated as build options rather than a contest in which one is declared best. Pokémon GO Hub’s calculated targets are useful for checking a specimen’s level and CP, but they are not evidence that the resulting build is worth powering up.
| League | Listed IV target | Listed level | Listed CP | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Great League | 0/15/15 | 23 | 1497 CP | A database build calculation, not a ranking or recommendation |
| Ultra League | 0/15/15 | 47.5 | 2499 CP | Requires a near-maxed specimen in the listed calculation; no source-backed meta role |
| Master League | 15/15/15 | 50 | 2745 CP | Level-50 perfect-IV calculation; no ranking information supplied |
These targets should be read as examples of what the database calculator selected, not as minimum requirements for entry. The league caps are 1500 CP for Great League and 2500 CP for Ultra League, so the displayed 1497 and 2499 values sit just below those limits. Master League has no CP cap, yet the listed level-50 perfect specimen reaches only 2745 CP. That gap is another reason not to interpret the Master calculation as proof of open-league strength.
Great League
The listed Great League target is 0/15/15 at level 23 and 1497 CP. Such a low-attack, high-defense-and-stamina spread is a common way to maximize bulk under a CP cap, but the target alone does not make Brambleghast good. Before investing, check the individual specimen in an IV or in-game appraisal tool and confirm that its CP can approach the 1500 limit without forcing an expensive power-up path.
Great League is the least resource-intensive place to test an unranked Pokémon because the CP ceiling is low and a level-23 target is substantially cheaper than the listed Ultra and Master calculations. That is a cost observation, not a performance prediction. Use a temporary team and a small number of practice battles first.
If your specimen reaches the cap at a very different level, that is not automatically a problem. It simply changes the bulk and attack trade-off represented by the calculator’s 0/15/15 example. Record the appraisal, current CP, and projected power-up cost before deciding whether the difference is acceptable for a trial.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteUltra League
For Ultra League, Pokémon GO Hub lists 0/15/15 at level 47.5 and 2499 CP. Reaching that level can require a large amount of Candy, XL Candy, and Stardust. With no ranking or usage evidence, this is a high-risk investment. Only consider it if you already have a suitable high-level Brambleghast, specifically want to test its matchups, and have confirmed that your team benefits from its resistances and coverage.

Ultra League also makes mistakes more expensive. A specimen that needs many power-ups may still require a second charged move and one or more TMs before it performs the role you had in mind. Add those resources to the total before comparing it with a Pokémon you could use immediately. Do not power it to level 47.5 merely because that number appears in a database calculation.
Master League
The listed Master League calculation is 15/15/15 at level 50 and 2745 CP. A level-50 perfect specimen is the most expensive of the three targets, while 2745 CP is far below the maximum CP of many Master League staples. The table therefore should not be read as a recommendation to build Brambleghast for open Master League. It is simply the perfect-IV calculation shown by the database.
Master League is the hardest format in which to justify an unranked experiment because there is no CP ceiling forcing a low-attack spread, and level-50 powering can consume substantial Stardust and XL Candy. Unless you already have the resources and a specific matchup hypothesis, test the Pokémon in a cheaper format first.
Moveset: what the tables show
Pokémon GO Hub lists two fast moves—Hex and Bullet Seed—and three charged moves—Shadow Sneak, Power Whip, and Night Shade.
| Move | Type | Pokémon GO Hub value |
|---|---|---|
| Hex | Fast | 2.33 damage per turn; 4.33 energy per turn |
| Bullet Seed | Fast | 1.67 damage per turn; 4.33 energy per turn |
| Power Whip | Charged | 90 power; 50 energy (1.80 damage per energy in the table) |
| Night Shade | Charged | 70 power; 45 energy (1.56 damage per energy) |
| Shadow Sneak | Charged | 75 power; 50 energy (1.50 damage per energy) |
On Pokémon GO Hub’s displayed fast-move figures, Hex and Bullet Seed generate the same 4.33 energy per turn, while Hex deals more listed damage per turn. That makes Hex the natural first comparison for a damage-focused trial, but it does not settle every matchup. Turn timing, the opponent’s typing, shield use, and whether a move reaches a crucial breakpoint can all change the practical result.
In Pokémon GO Hub’s displayed cycle comparison, Hex plus Power Whip produces 94 damage per cycle, ahead of Hex plus Shadow Sneak at 83 and Hex plus Night Shade at 77. This is the strongest directly stated combination in that table. A cycle figure is a controlled move-table comparison: it does not include shields, alignment, switch timing, debuffs, energy carried between turns, fast-move timing, or the opponent’s typing. It should guide an experiment, not be treated as a ranking.
Why another database shows different energy costs
Serebii’s 2026 Pokémon GO entry agrees with the listed power for Power Whip (90), Night Shade (70), and Shadow Sneak (75), but reports different charged-move energy requirements: Night Shade at 40 energy and Shadow Sneak at 45 energy. It also lists Bullet Seed at 8 power in Trainer Battles, whereas Pokémon GO Hub’s table presents Bullet Seed through damage-per-turn and energy-per-turn values rather than that same power field.
These are source discrepancies, not values you should silently average. Move data can depend on the game version, battle format, or the way a database displays a move. Before committing resources, check the current in-game move information and the latest battle-analysis data. Do not present the disputed Bullet Seed and charged-move energy values as settled universal numbers.

The discrepancy also explains why a move that appears cheaper in one table should not automatically be declared superior. If a live update changes an energy cost, the number of fast moves needed to reach a charged attack changes with it. Recheck the values whenever Brambleghast receives a balance change, and note which format and version you tested.
Choosing a first test moveset
If you already own Brambleghast and want a starting point, test Hex with Power Whip first because it has the highest displayed damage-per-cycle result in Pokémon GO Hub’s table. Then compare it directly with the alternatives in the same team and against the same opponents. A different charged move may feel better when its cost reaches a key breakpoint, when you need a particular coverage type, or when shields and switch timing matter more than raw cycle damage.
Do not use the table to justify teaching every move immediately. Start with the moves you already have, run practice battles, and only use a TM after you have identified a specific problem—such as failing to reach a needed charge, losing a matchup because of coverage, or having no useful move after an opponent shields.
When testing, write down the exact fast move, charged moves, league, IV spread, and shield scenario. Otherwise it is easy to remember one favorable battle and mistake it for a repeatable advantage. Compare one change at a time: for example, keep the team and lead position fixed while swapping only Night Shade for Shadow Sneak.
Type matchups and what they mean for team building
The matchup table associated with Brambleghast lists increased incoming damage from Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost, and Ice attacks. It lists reduced incoming damage from Electric, Grass, Ground, and Water, with stronger listed resistances to Fighting and Normal.
| Opponent attack category | Listed interaction | Team-building implication |
|---|---|---|
| Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Ice | Increased damage | Avoid leaving Brambleghast in against these attacks unless you have a clear shield, energy, or switch advantage |
| Electric, Grass, Ground, Water | Reduced damage | These are the kinds of attack categories to examine when looking for safe-switch opportunities |
| Fighting and Normal | Stronger listed resistance | Potentially useful for absorbing those attack types, subject to the opponent’s full moveset and baiting |
These interactions are not automatic wins. A Pokémon can resist an attack and still lose because of lower overall stats, a poor charged-move exchange, a shield disadvantage, or a bad alignment. Build around the matchup you need rather than around the resistance list alone.
Check the opponent’s complete moveset rather than judging by its fast-move type. A Pokémon listed as a favorable switch may carry a coverage charged move from one of Brambleghast’s increased-damage categories. Likewise, a resistance is most useful when Brambleghast can generate enough energy to apply pressure before the opponent reaches that coverage move.

1. Start with the role, not the Pokémon
Write down the job your team is missing: a safe switch, a counter to a specific type, a closer that benefits from shields, or a generalist that can operate with limited alignment. If you cannot name the role, there is no reason to build an unranked candidate instead of using a proven option.

2. Check your specimen against the league cap
Open Pokémon GO, go to your Pokémon storage, select Brambleghast, and review its appraisal and CP. Compare the specimen with the database targets: 0/15/15 at level 23 for Great League, 0/15/15 at level 47.5 for Ultra League, and 15/15/15 at level 50 for Master League. The figures are target calculations, not mandatory requirements. A different IV spread can still perform differently in individual matchups, but you should know what bulk or maximum-stat trade-off you are making.
Also check whether the specimen is already close to the desired CP. A low-level catch that needs many power-ups can cost more than a slightly less ideal IV specimen that is already near the cap. Since no ranking is available to justify a premium build, preserving resources is a reasonable priority.
3. Confirm the moves before spending resources
From the Brambleghast detail screen, check the current fast move and charged moves. Use a Fast TM or Charged TM only when you have a test plan; move availability and energy values can change with balance updates. If the Pokémon requires a second charged attack for the role you want, include that cost in your decision before powering it up.

- Use the Great League target first when your specimen can approach 1500 CP without an excessive investment.
- Pair Brambleghast with two teammates that cover Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost, and Ice pressure, since those are the increased-damage categories listed for it.
- Run practice battles or a training tool rather than spending more resources after one favorable result.
- Record whether Brambleghast reaches its charged moves, survives a resisted attack, forces a shield, or creates a useful switch.
- Change one variable at a time—fast move, charged move, lead position, or teammate—so you can identify what actually improved the result.
Use a small sample of repeatable scenarios rather than a single dramatic win. Test both shielded and unshielded situations, and try Brambleghast as a lead, switch, and closer if those are the roles you are considering. The goal is not to manufacture a positive result; it is to find out whether the Pokémon performs its assigned job at an acceptable resource cost.
5. Stop when the evidence does not support the cost
If Brambleghast repeatedly loses before reaching a charged move, needs both shields to perform its role, or duplicates a job already handled by a stronger teammate, stop investing. The absence of a ranking does not forbid experimentation, but it raises the standard of proof for a costly Ultra or Master build.

PvPoke describes itself as an open-source Pokémon GO PvP and GO Battle League utility that provides rankings, move information, battle simulation, team building, and training. Such tools can help you inspect matchups and compare teams. This article’s checked sources did not provide a Brambleghast-specific PvPoke ranking or battle simulation, so no PvPoke result should be implied here.
When you use a simulator, set the league, IVs, moves, shields, and switch conditions explicitly. A result under one shield scenario is not a universal rating. Compare several realistic scenarios and then validate the most promising version in actual battles.
Recommended Free Tools
Use simulations to answer narrow questions: Does Hex reach Power Whip before a common opponent’s charged move? Does Night Shade’s listed cost change a bait sequence? Does a different IV spread survive an attack by one turn? Keep the settings visible when recording results, because changing shields or switch timing can reverse an outcome.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Turning “unranked” into “useless.” It only means the checked ranking source did not establish a placement.
- Treating damage per cycle as a win rate. The 94 value for Hex and Power Whip omits battle-state variables.
- Copying a database build without checking cost. The Ultra target is level 47.5 and the Master target is level 50, which can be expensive.
- Ignoring source disagreement. Serebii and Pokémon GO Hub show different charged-move energy values, so verify the live game data.
- Assuming resistance guarantees a matchup. Opponent moves, shields, energy, and alignment still determine the battle.
- Using a high-attack specimen in a CP-capped league without checking it. IVs change the level and bulk available under the cap.
- Spending TMs before testing. Establish what the current moveset fails to do before rerolling it.
- Jumping straight to Master League. A level-50 build can consume substantial XL Candy and Stardust before you know whether the concept works.
- Comparing battles with different conditions. A result from two shields and switch advantage cannot be compared directly with a one-shield neutral battle.
How often to reassess Brambleghast
Recheck Brambleghast after move rebalance announcements, new moves, or major changes to the open-league environment. The 2026 database snapshot is a point-in-time record, and it does not expose a specific game-version date for the Brambleghast tables. A future update could add a move, alter energy costs, or change the surrounding meta enough to create a niche. Until a current ranking, simulation, or consistent battle evidence supports that niche, keep your investment proportionate to the experiment.
When reassessing, compare the same five items: current ranking status, actual move values in the live game, the CP and IV build you can afford, type matchups against the teams you face, and the role Brambleghast is expected to fill. Repeating that checklist prevents an old cycle-damage figure or outdated energy cost from driving a new investment.
Verdict
Brambleghast is an experimental Pokémon for Pokémon GO PvP, not a source-backed best pick for Great, Ultra, or Master League. Pokémon GO Hub reports no ranking information in any of those leagues. If you already have one and want to try it, begin with the least expensive viable build, test Hex plus Power Whip because it leads the displayed cycle-damage comparison, and judge it by the team role it actually fills. Do not treat the database’s IV, level, or cycle figures as proof that a costly build will perform in the current meta.

Is Brambleghast good in Pokémon GO PvP?
It is not an established open-league pick in the checked 2026 Pokémon GO Hub snapshot. No ranking information is listed for Great, Ultra, or Master League, so treat it as an experiment rather than a proven meta investment.
What is Brambleghast’s best league?
No source-backed best league has been established. Great League is the least expensive format to test because the listed target is level 23 and 1497 CP, but that is a cost advantage for experimentation, not evidence of superior performance.
What is the recommended Brambleghast moveset?
For a first test, use Hex with Power Whip because Pokémon GO Hub’s cycle table lists that combination at 94 damage per cycle, higher than Hex with Shadow Sneak or Night Shade. The figure is a move-table comparison, not a battle ranking.
What IVs does Brambleghast need?
The listed database targets are 0/15/15 at level 23 and 1497 CP for Great League, 0/15/15 at level 47.5 and 2499 CP for Ultra League, and 15/15/15 at level 50 and 2745 CP for Master League. These are calculations, not mandatory requirements.
What is Brambleghast weak to and resistant to?
The listed matchup profile shows increased damage from Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost, and Ice attacks; reduced damage from Electric, Grass, Ground, and Water; and stronger listed resistances to Fighting and Normal. The opponent’s full moveset, shields, energy, and alignment still decide battles.
Why do Pokémon GO Hub and Serebii show different move costs?
Their 2026 tables disagree on some displayed values. Serebii lists Night Shade at 40 energy and Shadow Sneak at 45, while Pokémon GO Hub lists 45 and 50 respectively; Serebii also shows Bullet Seed at 8 power. Verify current in-game data before investing.
Should I power Brambleghast to level 47.5 or 50?
Not without a specific test plan and a specimen you already consider suitable. The Ultra and Master calculations require substantial Candy, XL Candy, and Stardust, while no ranking or usage evidence currently justifies those costs.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Brambleghast has no listed Great, Ultra, or Master League ranking in the checked 2026 snapshot. If you want to experiment, start with the cheapest viable Great League build and test Hex plus Power Whip, but verify live move data and stop before an expensive Ultra or Master investment unless repeated battles show a clear team role.
