Among Us Story: On Guard is not released yet, so there is no full game to download or buy as of October 13, 2026. Innersloth has scheduled the full release for February 17, 2027. The company has not announced a final price. The latest platform announcement lists Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Android, iOS, and PC.

A free demo was announced for LudoNarraCon from October 8 through October 15, 2026. That is a limited preview, not confirmation that the finished game will be free. Because the announcement does not specify an exact closing hour or timezone, storefront availability should be checked directly while the demo window is open.

Is Among Us Story: On Guard free?

Only the announced demo was free. Innersloth has not said that the complete game will use a free-to-play model, and it has not published a launch price in the official material available through October 13, 2026.

The distinction matters because the word “free” can describe several different things: a permanent free game, a temporary trial, a limited event demo, or a free download that later requires payment. On Guard currently fits the third description. The October demo is a time-limited preview tied to LudoNarraCon. It does not establish the price, monetization, length, or content of the finished release.

What Innersloth has confirmed about price

Innersloth’s June 5, 2026 reveal said the company had not yet nailed down pricing. The October 8 launch announcement supplied the release date and expanded platform list but did not add a price. That means any number circulating elsewhere should be treated as speculation unless Innersloth publishes a later update or a storefront listing shows an official price.

The June statement is also a snapshot, not a permanent promise that the game will remain unpriced until launch. Pricing can be announced later and can vary by region, platform, taxes, or a launch promotion. Until an official listing appears, the responsible answer is simply that the full-game price is unknown.

Why the demo does not answer the full-game question

The first announced preview ran on Steam from June 15 to June 22, 2026. That window has ended. A second demo was scheduled for October 8–15 during LudoNarraCon. Both events are previews with defined availability periods; neither is evidence that the commercial release will be free.

If you see a “Play” button during a demo event, it may disappear when the event ends. A demo may also be delisted, replaced, or restricted by region after the advertised period. Do not assume that installing the preview grants access to the full game on February 17, 2027.

When does Among Us Story: On Guard release?

The planned full-game launch date is February 17, 2027. Innersloth announced that date on October 8, 2026. It is a scheduled date rather than proof that every storefront will unlock at the same local time. Digital stores often publish their own countdowns, regional release times, or pre-load policies.

As of the October 13 snapshot, the game remained unreleased. A platform announcement can precede the actual store page, age rating, final system requirements, or regional rollout. If you are planning to play on launch day, check the store for your chosen device as the date approaches and look for an official update if the listing does not appear.

Which platforms will support the game?

Innersloth’s latest announcement says the game is releasing on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Android, iOS, and PC. The June reveal listed PC and both Switch generations; the October update added Android and iOS. The October list is therefore the current announced lineup.

Platform Announced status What is and is not established
PC Announced A Steam wishlist was linked by Innersloth, and the June demo was distributed through Steam. Final PC requirements and other PC storefronts are not stated.
Nintendo Switch Announced Listed as a supported console alongside Nintendo Switch 2. Store release timing and any edition differences are not stated.
Nintendo Switch 2 Announced Listed as a supported console. You need the hardware only if you choose this platform; the game is also announced for PC and mobile.
Android Announced Innersloth names Android but does not provide compatible device models, Android-version requirements, storage needs, or a specific storefront in the reviewed announcement.
iOS Announced Innersloth names iOS but does not provide supported iPhone or iPad models, operating-system requirements, storage needs, or a specific storefront in the reviewed announcement.

“Announced” should not be read as “downloadable today.” The same October post that lists the five platforms also gives a future February 2027 launch date. It is possible for a store page, wishlist, or pre-registration page to appear before the game is playable.

PC

PC is the only announced platform for which the available material identifies a distribution route: Steam was used for the June demo, and Innersloth linked a Steam wishlist. That makes Steam the most concrete place to monitor the PC version, but it does not prove that the final game will be exclusive to Steam or that the demo will remain available there.

No processor, graphics, memory, operating-system, storage, controller, or display requirements have been published in the reviewed announcements. Avoid buying or upgrading hardware specifically for On Guard until an official requirements list appears.

Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2

Both Nintendo systems are explicitly on the October platform list. The announcement does not say whether the versions will have identical features, whether one version will receive technical enhancements, or whether an upgrade path will exist. Those details should be checked in the relevant Nintendo store listing when it is published.

A Switch 2 console is optional hardware, not a requirement for the game as a whole. The announced PC, Android, and iOS versions provide alternatives for readers who do not own either Nintendo console.

Android and iOS

The mobile additions are significant because they broaden the audience beyond the original PC and console plan. However, an operating-system name alone is not a compatibility guarantee. Mobile games can exclude older devices, require a newer operating-system version, or limit availability by country and store policy.

At the time covered here, Innersloth had not published device requirements, supported chipset lists, minimum operating-system versions, storage requirements, controller support, or mobile storefront details. Treat mobile compatibility as something to verify on the official store page rather than assuming that every Android phone, iPhone, or iPad will run it.

What kind of game is On Guard?

On Guard is a single-player narrative adventure set in the Among Us universe. It is not the standard multiplayer session format in which players complete tasks while trying to identify an Impostor. The player takes the role of a Guard working in a MIRA Research & Development training simulator.

Innersloth’s description centers on ship security, assigned tasks, clue-finding, investigations, murders, and branching outcomes. The official material says players can encounter three endings. That framing explains why the game has a separate title and why a demo can be useful even for people who already know the multiplayer game: the focus is an individual investigation and a narrative sequence rather than a lobby-based social deduction match.

What the Guard role implies

The Guard is presented as a trainee operating inside a simulated MIRA environment. Tasks are part of the job, but they are connected to security work and investigation rather than simply serving as a progress bar in a competitive round. Clues and murders provide the mystery structure, while decisions and discoveries can lead toward different endings.

Innersloth has not published a complete chapter list, playtime estimate, difficulty settings, accessibility feature list, or detailed explanation of how the three endings are reached. Those are reasonable things to look for in future announcements, but they should not be invented from the multiplayer game’s mechanics.

How to check whether you can play it

Use the following process rather than relying on a search result that may describe an old demo.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Identify your device. Decide whether you are checking PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Android, or iOS. The requirements and store pages will differ.
  2. Check the official announcement date. The October 8, 2026 Innersloth announcement is the latest source for the release date, platform list, and October demo window in this snapshot.
  3. For PC, inspect Steam. Search for the official game listing and distinguish a wishlist, demo, and purchased full game. A wishlist confirms that a store page exists; it does not mean the game is released.
  4. For consoles and mobile, use the platform’s own store. Search the exact title and verify the publisher, release date, supported device information, and whether the page says “demo,” “pre-order,” “coming soon,” or “available.”
  5. Read the availability region and date. A listing can be visible without being downloadable in your country, and an event demo can close at a time that is not shown in the headline date.
  6. Recheck near February 17, 2027. Store pages may add price, file size, requirements, ratings, language support, and release timing after the original announcement.

What is still unknown before launch?

Several practical details remain open. The missing information is not evidence of a problem; it simply means the announcements have not settled those points publicly.

  • The full-game price and whether it will differ by platform or region.
  • Whether there will be a launch discount, bundle, deluxe edition, or other purchase options.
  • Exact PC system requirements, download size, and supported operating systems.
  • Minimum Android and iOS versions, supported devices, storage requirements, and mobile storefront pages.
  • Whether save data, achievements, cross-progression, or cross-buy will work between platforms.
  • Whether Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions will have feature or performance differences.
  • The exact release hour, pre-load timing, and regional rollout schedule.
  • How long the finished story is and how the three endings are triggered.

These gaps are especially important for mobile buyers and for anyone planning a launch-day purchase. Wait for the official store metadata before treating a device as compatible or budgeting a specific amount.

How On Guard differs from the original Among Us

The shared universe does not make the two games interchangeable. The original Among Us is known for multiplayer rounds, tasks performed by several players, and social deduction around hidden Impostors. On Guard is described as a solo narrative adventure in which one player acts as a Guard in a training simulator.

That difference affects what “platform support” means. A player interested in On Guard does not need to assemble a group, maintain a multiplayer lobby, or expect the same round structure. Conversely, ownership or familiarity with the original multiplayer game does not establish that the story game is included, free, or automatically unlocked. They are presented as separate experiences.

Practical buying advice

If you want to try the story before committing money, the October LudoNarraCon demo was the relevant opportunity as of October 13, 2026, subject to the event’s unspecified cutoff time. If you missed it, the June Steam demo is no longer an active route, and there is no stated promise that another demo will be offered.

If you are choosing hardware, do not purchase a console solely because On Guard is announced for it. The game is also planned for PC, Android, and iOS, and the announcements do not yet provide the technical information needed to compare performance. Choose the device you already use or the platform that fits your other games, then verify the final listing when it appears.

If price is your deciding factor, postpone the decision until Innersloth publishes an official amount. The current evidence supports only two firm statements: the complete game is upcoming, and its price has not been announced. A temporary free demo cannot be used to infer the cost of the finished release.
