Short answer: an iQOO 16R has not been established as an officially released India model in the available evidence. The official iQOO India product page identifies the iQOO 15R, while the closest documented comparison is the iQOO 15R versus OnePlus 15R. For that verified pair, both phones use Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and feel similarly fast in normal use. The iQOO offers a larger battery, faster charging and a small reported benchmark lead; the OnePlus is reported to control heat better during long gaming sessions, costs ₹500 less in the cited 12GB/256GB price snapshot, and has a cleaner-feeling interface.
That makes the iQOO the stronger endurance choice and the OnePlus the safer pick for sustained gaming consistency and a less busy software experience. Prices and availability can change, so confirm the exact model and current India price before ordering.
What the “iQOO 16R” name means right now
Before comparing performance or value, identify the product correctly. The official iQOO India page available for this comparison lists an iQOO 15R, not an iQOO 16R. Search results included an unofficial page using the names “iQOO 16R” and “OnePlus 16R,” but that page does not establish either phone as an officially released India product. A follow-up search for official India launch evidence for iQOO 16R or OnePlus 16R returned no results.
Accordingly, this guide does not treat the iQOO 16R as a confirmed phone or invent specifications for it. The evidence-backed buying decision is between the iQOO 15R and OnePlus 15R in India. If a retailer advertises an “iQOO 16R,” check the model number, iQOO’s official India product catalogue, warranty region and return terms before paying. A listing title alone is not proof of an India launch.

The performance, battery, display, camera and software observations above come from the 91mobiles comparison published on April 22, 2026. The benchmark numbers and prices are dated snapshots, not guarantees of current retail performance or pricing.
Performance: similar speed, different behavior under load
Both use the same Snapdragon platform
The iQOO 15R and OnePlus 15R are both reported to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. That shared platform matters more than a small synthetic-score difference: app launches, web browsing, multitasking and ordinary gaming should feel broadly similar when the phones have comparable memory and storage configurations.
A shared chip does not mean identical results in every situation. Cooling hardware, thermal limits, software scheduling and room temperature can change how long a phone maintains peak frequencies. That is why a benchmark lead should be read alongside sustained-load behavior rather than treated as a complete performance verdict.
What the reported benchmark numbers show
In the cited 91mobiles comparison, the iQOO 15R scored 3,078,708 on AnTuTu, while the OnePlus 15R scored 2,957,229. The iQOO’s reported lead is measurable but relatively small compared with the fact that both phones use the same processor. It is unlikely to transform normal navigation or social apps into a visibly different experience.
AnTuTu scores are useful for comparing the specific tested units, software versions and test conditions. They are not a promise that every unit will reproduce the same number, and they do not measure battery drain, comfort in the hand or frame-rate stability in a particular game.
Long gaming sessions favor the OnePlus behaviorally
The same review found better thermal control and more consistent performance on the OnePlus during extended gaming. It described the iQOO as running warmer and throttling over longer periods. In practice, that distinction matters most when you play demanding 3D titles for extended sessions, use a high-performance mode repeatedly, or game in a warm room.

Short sessions may not expose the difference. Both phones can be fast at the start of a match, and the iQOO’s higher peak benchmark result may look attractive. The OnePlus advantage is consistency: a steadier level of performance is generally more useful than a higher initial score if a long session causes the competing phone to reduce speed.

- Choose iQOO for: high peak figures, shorter gaming sessions and users who value battery capacity alongside performance.
- Choose OnePlus for: repeated long sessions where heat and sustained frame-rate stability matter more than a small benchmark lead.
Battery and charging: iQOO wins the specification contest
Capacity advantage
The iQOO 15R is reported with a 7,600mAh battery, compared with 7,400mAh in the OnePlus 15R. That 200mAh difference is not a guaranteed percentage of extra runtime: display brightness, refresh rate, cellular signal, game settings and background activity all affect endurance. It does, however, give the iQOO more rated capacity to work with.
For travelers, commuters and heavy users who spend long periods away from a socket, the iQOO’s larger battery is the clearest hardware reason to prefer it. It also gives more headroom for high-refresh gaming, navigation and video playback, provided you manage the settings that consume the most power.
Charging advantage
The iQOO 15R is reported to support 100W charging, while the OnePlus 15R is reported at 80W. The wattage figures describe the charging capability, not a guaranteed time from zero to 100 percent. Actual charging speed can vary with the supplied adapter, cable, battery temperature, charge level and regional package.
Even with those qualifications, the iQOO is the better fit for a quick top-up before leaving home. The OnePlus remains a fast-charging phone, but its lower rating gives the iQOO the specification advantage for users who routinely recharge in short windows.
Battery choice by user pattern
- Heavy mobile data, navigation or video: start with the iQOO’s larger capacity, then check current reviews for your network and brightness habits.
- Long gaming away from a charger: iQOO has more capacity, but heat-related throttling can reduce its advantage during prolonged high-load play.
- Frequent short top-ups: iQOO’s 100W rating is the more convenient specification.
- Desk-based use near a charger: the battery difference may be less important than software preference and sustained gaming behavior.
Display: refresh rate versus brightness
The OnePlus 15R is reported with a 165Hz refresh rate, while the iQOO 15R is reported at 144Hz. A higher refresh ceiling can make supported animations and compatible games appear smoother, but the visible benefit depends on whether the software reaches those frame rates and whether you can distinguish the difference in normal use.

The iQOO display was described as brighter in the 91mobiles comparison. Brightness is especially useful outdoors, in a car or near windows, where legibility matters more than the last 21Hz of refresh rate. If you mostly play games that can sustain very high frame rates and value motion smoothness, the OnePlus specification may appeal. If you frequently use the phone in bright environments, the iQOO’s reported brightness advantage is more practical.
Do not select on refresh rate alone. Ask whether the game supports the required frame rate, whether the phone can sustain it as it heats up, and whether the retailer’s exact variant has the same display specification.
Cameras: choose the rendering style, not a universal winner
The cited comparison characterizes iQOO 15R images as sharper and more contrast-heavy. That treatment can make edges and textures look punchy and immediately striking, especially on a vivid phone display. It can also produce a less relaxed look in scenes where shadows and highlights need a gentler balance.

OnePlus 15R images are characterized as more natural. That generally suits people who prefer restrained contrast and colors that look closer to the scene, particularly for people, interiors and mixed lighting. “Natural” is not automatically better: some buyers prefer the iQOO’s sharper, more emphatic presentation.
Because the evidence describes rendering tendencies rather than a complete camera laboratory, do not infer unreported details such as sensor size, zoom quality, stabilization performance or night-mode rankings. Make the decision based on the visual style you prefer and the camera samples available for the exact retail version.
Software: OriginOS 6 versus OxygenOS 16
OriginOS 6 on the iQOO
The review describes OriginOS 6 as feature-heavy. That can be useful if you want extensive customization, extra system tools and more options available without installing additional apps. It can also mean more menus, recommendations or settings to understand before the phone feels exactly the way you want.

OxygenOS 16 on the OnePlus
OxygenOS 16 is described as cleaner-feeling in the comparison. Users who prefer a less busy interface and a shorter path to common settings may find it easier to live with. A cleaner impression is subjective, so check the current software build in a store or hands-on video if interface feel is a major purchase factor.

Price and value in India
The dated 12GB/256GB comparison
For the 12GB/256GB configuration, the 91mobiles comparison published on April 22, 2026 reported revised prices of ₹50,999 for the iQOO 15R and ₹50,499 for the OnePlus 15R. On that snapshot, the OnePlus was ₹500 cheaper.
The same comparison reported launch prices of ₹47,999 for both phones in the 12GB/256GB configuration. The later figures therefore reflect price revisions, not the original launch positioning. Retail prices, bank offers, exchange discounts and stock can change after publication, so treat these as historical India reference points rather than a live quote.
How to judge value when prices move
- Confirm that both listings are the same 12GB/256GB configuration. A lower price for a different memory or storage tier is not a direct saving.
- Check that the seller is supplying an India model with valid local warranty coverage.
- Compare the final checkout price after shipping, bank discounts and bundled accessories rather than the headline price.
- Assign a value to your priority: the iQOO’s battery and charging, or the OnePlus’s sustained thermal behavior and software feel.
- Recheck the price on the day of purchase. The ₹500 difference reported in April 2026 can disappear through a sale or widen through a revision.
Which phone should you buy?
Buy the iQOO 15R if endurance is your priority
The iQOO is the logical choice when a 7,600mAh battery and 100W charging directly address your routine. It is also the phone to consider if you like sharper, higher-contrast camera output and a feature-rich interface. Its reported AnTuTu score is higher, although that advantage should not outweigh the OnePlus’s better sustained-load behavior if you play for hours at a time.

The OnePlus makes more sense for long gaming sessions because the comparison reports better thermal control and more consistent extended performance. Its 165Hz display specification and cleaner-feeling OxygenOS 16 add to the case for buyers who value smoothness and a less busy interface. The 7,400mAh battery and 80W charging are still substantial; they simply do not match the iQOO’s rated capacity and charging figures.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Buy the OnePlus if the current price gap remains
At the cited April 2026 revised prices, the OnePlus was ₹500 cheaper in the same 12GB/256GB configuration. That is a small difference, so it should not decide the purchase by itself. It becomes meaningful only when the OnePlus also matches your preference for sustained gaming and cleaner software.
Buy the iQOO if brightness matters more than maximum refresh rate
The iQOO is reported to have the brighter display, while OnePlus offers 165Hz versus 144Hz. Outdoor visibility and the ability to read the screen comfortably can matter more every day than a refresh-rate advantage that only appears in supported content. Choose according to where and how you use the phone.
A practical pre-purchase checklist
- Confirm the listing says iQOO 15R or OnePlus 15R, not an unverified “16R” name.
- Match RAM and storage before comparing prices; the cited figures are for 12GB/256GB.
- Verify India-region warranty and the seller’s return policy.
- Check the charger and cable included in the box. The iQOO 15R listing is reported to include a phone case, charger and USB cable, so a case should not be treated as a required extra purchase.
- For gaming, test or inspect the phone after a sustained session rather than relying only on a short benchmark.
- For cameras, compare sample images in the lighting you use most and decide whether you prefer sharper contrast or a more natural rendering.
- Review the current software build, since OriginOS 6 and OxygenOS 16 descriptions can change with updates.
Common mistakes to avoid
Assuming an unofficial model name is a new generation
A page labeled iQOO 16R does not establish an official launch. Until iQOO publishes the model for India and retailers provide a traceable India variant, treat the name as unconfirmed. Buying an incorrectly identified import can create warranty, charger and network-band problems.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Using benchmark points as the whole verdict
The iQOO’s reported 3,078,708 AnTuTu score exceeds the OnePlus’s 2,957,229, but the review also reports more heat and throttling on the iQOO in longer sessions. Peak performance and sustained performance answer different questions.
Comparing launch prices with current prices
Both phones were reported at ₹47,999 at launch for 12GB/256GB, while the later snapshot lists ₹50,999 for iQOO and ₹50,499 for OnePlus. Always compare the same date, configuration and final checkout price.
Assuming a higher refresh rate guarantees better gaming
OnePlus’s 165Hz panel can be an advantage only when a game or interface reaches that rate and the phone maintains it. Thermal behavior, game optimization and touch response also affect the experience.
Final buying decision
There is no evidence-backed iQOO 16R versus OnePlus 16R India comparison to make yet. For the verified iQOO 15R and OnePlus 15R, the choice is clear by priority: select iQOO for its larger 7,600mAh battery, 100W charging, reported brighter display, sharper camera rendering and feature-heavy software; select OnePlus for better reported thermal consistency during extended gaming, a cleaner-feeling OxygenOS 16 interface, a 165Hz display and the slightly lower April 2026 price snapshot.
Both use Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and should feel similarly quick in ordinary use. Verify the exact model, India warranty and live price before purchase, especially if a listing uses the unconfirmed “iQOO 16R” name.
