You can’t turn on a permanent number row above the standard iPhone letter keyboard using a documented iOS setting. To enter numbers, tap the Numbers key; for a row that stays visible while typing, the practical option is a compatible physical keyboard with dedicated number keys. Other workarounds address specific needs, but don’t add an onscreen row.
How do I stop tapping 123 to type numbers?
With Apple’s built-in keyboard, tap the Numbers key in a text field to switch to numbers and punctuation. Tap the Symbols key when you need the next set of characters. This is Apple’s documented onscreen workflow; its iPhone keyboard guidance does not document a setting to keep a digit row above the standard letter keys. Can another iPhone keyboard add a permanent number row?
Don’t assume an iPhone keyboard has a persistent number row just because a similar option exists on Android. Google’s Gboard setup instructions for iPhone and iPad explain how to install and configure the app, but do not verify that an always-visible number row can be enabled on iOS.
iPhone does support third-party keyboard extensions, but Apple notes that custom keyboards are unavailable in secure text fields and phone number fields. Their availability can therefore depend on what you’re typing into. Check the current iPhone-specific documentation for any keyboard you’re considering, rather than relying on Android instructions. Apple describes the restrictions in its virtual keyboards guidance.

Would a different language or keyboard layout help?
You can add keyboards for other languages, switch between installed keyboards, and choose layouts available for a language. These settings are useful when you need to type in another language or use its layout; Apple does not describe them as a general way to pin a number row above the standard English keyboard. Use a physical keyboard for frequent number entry
If you regularly enter digits and want dedicated keys, connect a compatible Bluetooth keyboard with a number row or keypad. Apple documents using Magic Keyboard and other external keyboards with iPhone in its external keyboard guide. This is a hardware workaround, not an iOS setting.
Use Text Replacement for a recurring string
If you repeatedly enter the same code or number string, Text Replacement can expand a short shortcut into the saved text. It won’t help with different numbers each time. Apple explains how to set it up in its Text Replacement guide.
