The iPhone 17 is the smaller, lighter option; the iQOO 15 gives you a much larger, higher-refresh-rate screen, a dedicated 3× periscope camera, and a larger stated battery with faster charging. In India, the iQOO store lists prices for two configurations, but Apple’s India pages show conflicting iPhone 17 starting prices, so check the live purchase price before deciding which is better value.

These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent test results. Apple’s iPhone 17 specifications and iQOO’s India product page are the sources for the figures.
How different are the screens and physical size?
The iQOO 15’s 6.85-inch display is 0.55 inches larger diagonally than the iPhone 17’s 6.3-inch screen. It also has a higher stated resolution and refresh-rate ceiling: iQOO lists 3168 × 1440 and up to 144Hz, while Apple specifies an OLED Super Retina XDR display with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz.

iQOO advertises a local peak brightness of 6000 nits. That is a manufacturer-claimed local peak figure, not a claim that the whole screen reaches that brightness in ordinary use or an independent measurement. Apple’s specification page identifies the display technology and refresh-rate behavior but does not provide a directly comparable figure in the cited material.

The size difference is reflected in weight: Apple lists the iPhone 17 at 177g, while iQOO lists the iQOO 15 at 216.2–221g depending on color. The iPhone is lighter and narrower; the larger iQOO screen may suit people who want more viewing area. Comfort and one-handed usability depend on the user and cannot be established from dimensions alone.
Which phone is better for performance and gaming?
Apple lists an A19 chip with a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. iQOO lists the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 alongside its Supercomputing Chip Q3 and gaming-focused cooling features. Those specifications show how each company positions its phone, but they do not establish which one is faster in everyday use or sustains better performance in a controlled gaming comparison.

If gaming is a priority, the iQOO’s larger 144Hz-capable screen and dedicated gaming features may be appealing on paper. A higher refresh-rate ceiling is not a guarantee that every game runs at that rate; actual support and performance depend on the game and device settings. Choose based on the games you play and independent testing of those titles, rather than chip names alone.

The iPhone 17 has two 48MP rear cameras: a main camera and an ultra-wide camera. Apple describes 2× optical-quality telephoto as enabled by the main sensor. The iQOO 15 has three 50MP rear cameras, including a Sony 3× periscope camera, giving it a dedicated longer-reach option in its listed hardware.

On listed focal-length options, the iPhone suits someone who wants main and ultra-wide framing with a 2× optical-quality view, while the iQOO adds a dedicated 3× periscope camera. Megapixel counts and zoom specifications do not show which phone takes better photographs or video. For image quality, compare independent samples in the lighting and subjects you care about.
What do the battery and charging specifications tell you?
iQOO lists a 7000mAh typical-capacity battery, 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. Its product information cautions that lab data may vary in actual use. The wireless charging dock is sold separately, according to the iQOO India store.

Apple’s cited specification page provides video-playback claims but does not state an mAh capacity figure. Because the available figures are not from a same-method battery test, they cannot establish which phone lasts longer in real-world use. Compare independent battery tests that use the same conditions if endurance is decisive.

What do the IP ratings mean in practice?
Apple states IP68 under IEC 60529 and gives a maximum-depth test condition of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes. iQOO states IP68 and IP69 under GB/T 4208-2017, with its stated IP68 test condition reaching up to 1.5 metres. The ratings use different standards and stated test conditions, so the figures are not a direct ranking of protection.

Neither rating means liquid protection is permanent or guarantees warranty coverage. iQOO warns that protection may decline with wear and that liquid damage is not covered by its warranty. Review each manufacturer’s warranty terms and care guidance rather than treating an IP rating as permission to expose a phone to water.

Apple’s India marketing page surfaced a starting price of ₹82,900, while its India buy page surfaced ₹99,900. Those Apple pages conflict, so the available information does not establish one definitive current iPhone 17 starting price or a reliable price gap against the iQOO. Check the live Apple buying flow for the configuration you intend to purchase.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose iPhone 17 if: you prefer a smaller, lighter phone, want Apple’s specified dual-camera arrangement, or already favor Apple’s operating system and ecosystem. Check the live India price because Apple’s cited pages do not agree.
- Choose iQOO 15 if: you want a larger high-refresh-rate display, a dedicated 3× periscope camera, a larger stated battery capacity, or high-wattage wired charging. Its listed India prices vary by memory and storage configuration.
The specifications support a comparison of size, screen, camera hardware and charging options, but they do not settle real-world speed, battery endurance, photo quality, software-support duration, repairability or street-price value. For those questions, look for independent comparisons of the exact models and configurations available where you live.
