The OnePlus 15 is the larger-screen Android choice, with a 6.78-inch display, a listed 7,300mAh battery and a gaming mode that can reach 165Hz. The iPhone 17 Pro is smaller at 6.3 inches, runs iOS on Apple’s A19 Pro chip and supports adaptive ProMotion up to 120Hz. For price, OnePlus announced US launch prices of $899.99 and $999.99 in November 2025; those figures do not establish today’s price difference against Apple.

Which phone has the larger display, and what does that mean for handling?
OnePlus lists a 6.78-inch display, compared with Apple’s 6.3-inch screen, so the OnePlus 15 is the larger-screen option by diagonal measurement. That extra screen area may suit reading, video and games, while the iPhone’s smaller diagonal may appeal if you prefer a more compact flagship. Diagonal size alone does not establish the overall dimensions, weight or one-handed comfort of either phone.

165Hz applies to gaming, not every screen interaction
Apple describes ProMotion as adaptive refresh up to 120Hz. OnePlus lists adaptive 1–120Hz for the OnePlus 15 and a maximum 165Hz in gaming. That gaming ceiling is not the same as saying the whole interface always runs at 165Hz; refresh behavior depends on the mode and content.

How much more does the iPhone 17 Pro cost?
A current, like-for-like price gap is not established by the cited information. OnePlus announced North American launch prices on November 13, 2025: $899.99 for 12GB/256GB and $999.99 for 16GB/512GB. OnePlus’s US product page displayed the same amounts when checked, but says US pricing can change with market conditions. Apple’s cited page is a specification page, not a current price listing.
To compare what you would actually pay, check Apple’s local store and OnePlus or authorized retailers on the same day. Match storage as closely as possible and distinguish unlocked prices from carrier offers, trade-in credits and temporary promotions. A retailer comparison that conflicts with OnePlus’s own launch figures should not be treated as the official launch price.

How do the chips, storage and software differ?
Apple lists its A19 Pro chip and iOS; OnePlus lists Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Android 16 with OxygenOS 16 for the US model. These specifications identify two different platforms, but they do not tell you which phone is faster in your apps, stays cooler during extended gaming or receives software updates for longer. No comparable benchmark, sustained-load test or support-duration figure is established here.

Choose first by the operating system and ecosystem you want to use. Then select storage for your own photo, video and app library: the iPhone 17 Pro is listed in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB capacities, while the US OnePlus 15 is listed in 256GB and 512GB configurations with 12GB or 16GB RAM. What do the camera and battery specifications establish?
Apple’s specifications identify three 48MP rear cameras: main, ultra-wide and telephoto. The cited US OnePlus specifications summary does not provide a comparable camera breakdown, and there is no independent photo or video testing of the two phones. Megapixel figures alone cannot establish image quality, zoom results, low-light performance or video consistency, so they are not enough to declare a camera winner.
OnePlus lists a 7,300mAh battery; Apple’s cited specifications page does not state a capacity. Capacity is not runtime: screen size, software, radio use and workload affect endurance. There is no comparable battery test here, so the OnePlus figure should not be turned into a claim that it lasts longer in real use.

What should you know about charging and regional models?
For the US OnePlus 15, OnePlus lists 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. Its global specifications page has been reported to list 120W wired charging, which differs from the US figure; do not assume a global specification applies to a US handset. Verify the exact regional SKU and local product page before buying. Apple lists MagSafe wireless charging for the iPhone 17 Pro; the cited material does not establish a comparable wired charging rate.

Which one should you choose?
- Consider the iPhone 17 Pro if you want iOS, Apple’s ecosystem, a 6.3-inch display, ProMotion up to 120Hz or the listed 1TB storage option.
- Consider the OnePlus 15 if you want Android, a larger 6.78-inch display, a listed 7,300mAh battery, a gaming refresh maximum of 165Hz, or the US model’s 16GB/512GB configuration.
- Compare live prices before deciding if budget is decisive. The OnePlus prices above are dated North American launch figures, not a verified current gap against Apple.
- Wait for comparable independent tests if your decision depends chiefly on camera results, real-world battery life, sustained performance or long-term software support.
