The iPhone 17 Pro Max is the larger, heavier choice, with a 6.9-inch display and Apple’s iPhone ecosystem. The vivo X300 FE is more compact and lighter, and vivo lists a 6500mAh typical battery, up to 90W wired charging, and a 50MP telephoto camera. The right pick depends on screen size, platform, camera needs, storage, and a current price for the same market and configuration.
Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max vs vivo X300 FE: specs at a glance
The specifications below come from Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max page and vivo’s India-market X300 FE materials. They are manufacturer claims, not results from a controlled head-to-head test.

Brightness figures use different manufacturer terminology, so the 5000-nit local peak figure should not be treated as a directly comparable lab result. Neither the camera megapixel counts nor the processors’ names establish which phone takes better photos or performs better in everyday use.

Choose the iPhone 17 Pro Max for a larger display
At 6.9 inches, the iPhone has a substantially larger screen than the X300 FE’s 6.31-inch display. That may suit people who prefer more screen space for reading, video, or multitasking, but the larger panel comes with a wider and heavier body: Apple lists the iPhone at 233g and 78.0mm wide.

Choose the vivo X300 FE for a more compact body
vivo lists the X300 FE at 191g and 71.76mm wide. Its smaller dimensions make it the more compact option on paper; the trade-off is less display area. Try the phones in person if one-handed reach or pocket comfort is a deciding factor.
How do their cameras compare?
On paper, the X300 FE has a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto camera with optical image stabilization, and an 8MP wide-angle camera. vivo’s product page describes the telephoto as offering 3× optical zoom and up to 100× digital zoom. Apple lists three 48MP rear cameras for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Those specifications describe hardware, not comparative image quality. Megapixels alone do not show how the phones handle moving subjects, low light, color, video, or zoom detail. For a camera decision, look for independent tests that compare the exact models under similar conditions and include the kinds of photos and video you take.

vivo says its ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 is compatible with the X300 FE and must be purchased separately. Treat it as an optional accessory and confirm the exact model and current availability before buying.
Does the X300 FE’s battery and charging make it last longer?
vivo lists a 6500mAh typical capacity and 6350mAh rated capacity for the X300 FE, plus up to 90W wired FlashCharge when used with the original charger and cable. The accessed Apple specifications page does not provide a directly comparable battery-capacity or charging-wattage figure.
Capacity and charging specifications do not establish real-world battery life. Runtime depends on factors such as display use, signal conditions, apps, and settings; no controlled battery comparison between these two phones is available here. Do not treat the vivo’s capacity figure by itself as proof that it lasts longer.

Which platform and storage configuration should you choose?
Platform: Apple versus Android
The iPhone uses Apple’s platform and lists Apple Intelligence. The X300 FE is specified with Android 16 and OriginOS 6. This is an ecosystem choice as much as a hardware one: consider the phone you already use, the services and accessories you rely on, and which operating system you prefer. The processor names alone do not establish a performance winner.

Storage: match the exact configuration
Apple lists iPhone storage options of 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. vivo’s India parameter page lists 8GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB, while its store pages surfaced 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB listings. Because vivo’s returned materials differ on the 12GB configuration, verify the exact X300 FE SKU with the seller before comparing or ordering. Match storage needs as closely as possible rather than comparing prices for different capacities.
What is the price difference in India?
At the time the vivo India e-store listings were accessed, it displayed the X300 FE at ₹84,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹89,999 for 12GB+256GB. One product page also showed MRP values of ₹109,999 and ₹119,999, respectively. These are live retail listings that can change; the MRP figures are not the same as the displayed listing prices.
A third-party comparison result showed ₹1,49,990 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but that is not a current official Apple India Store price citation, and the storage configuration and offer terms were not established. Therefore, these figures do not support a definitive, like-for-like current price difference. Before buying, check Apple India and vivo India on the same date, match storage tiers as closely as possible, and compare listed prices separately from discounts or offers.
