The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G is the better fit if you want a larger, high-refresh display and a published large-battery specification; the iPhone 16 is the clearer choice if you prefer Apple’s A18-based platform, its stated camera features or its IP68 rating. A precise price difference cannot be given from the available figures: the POVA price is for India, and there is no matching current iPhone 16 price for a specified market and storage variant.

How the displays differ
The POVA’s listed 6.78-inch screen is larger than the iPhone 16’s 6.12-inch diagonal. TECNO also specifies a 144 Hz refresh rate, which can make supported motion appear smoother. These are specification differences, not a direct measure of display quality: the figures do not establish brightness, color accuracy or how the screens look in everyday use.
Performance and software: choose the platform you want
The iPhone 16 uses Apple’s A18 chip and offers Apple Intelligence features described by Apple. The POVA lists a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G chip and HiOS 16 based on Android 16. Those details identify different hardware and software platforms, but the available specifications do not provide comparable benchmark results or establish how long either phone will receive software updates.

Camera specifications are not camera-test results
The iPhone’s listed setup pairs a stabilized 48MP main camera with a 12MP ultra-wide and includes Apple’s described 2× telephoto option through the main camera. TECNO lists a 50MP OIS rear camera and an 8MP ultra-wide, plus a 13MP front camera. Megapixel counts and lens configurations alone do not show which phone takes better photos or video; no comparable image-quality test is established here.

Battery and charging: what the figures do—and do not—show
TECNO specifies a 6500mAh battery and 45W charging for the POVA 8 Pro 5G. The Apple specification page cited here does not establish iPhone 16 battery capacity or charging wattage, so a like-for-like numerical comparison is not possible from these figures. Battery capacity and charging ratings also do not prove real-world endurance or charging time.
Protection and storage details to check
Water and dust protection
Apple rates iPhone 16 IP68 and specifies testing to a maximum depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. The cited official TECNO specifications page does not list an IP rating, so it does not support assigning the POVA a comparable rating.

No matching current iPhone 16 price in a specified market and comparable storage configuration is established here. To calculate a useful price gap, compare the phones in the same country, on the same date, with the same storage capacity where possible, and include seller offers and any applicable taxes. Without those inputs, stating a numerical difference would be misleading.
