The iPhone 16 and Google Pixel 10a differ most in operating system, display size and refresh rate, camera setup, and the way their battery claims are measured. Google lists the Pixel 10a from $499 in the US, but the evidence available does not establish a current, like-for-like iPhone 16 price—so there is no reliable numeric price gap to report.

These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not results from a shared test. The chip names alone do not show which phone performs better, and camera megapixels do not establish which produces better photos.
Which display is larger and smoother?
The Pixel 10a has a 6.3-inch display with a stated refresh rate of 60–120 Hz. Apple lists the iPhone 16 as a 6.1-inch-class model. That makes the Pixel the larger-screen option on the published size figures; its stated refresh-rate range also gives a concrete specification that should not be assumed for the iPhone.
For the iPhone 16’s exact display resolution and feature details, use Apple’s iPhone 16 specifications. Google’s comparison page that mentions an iPhone is specifically about the iPhone 17e, not the iPhone 16, so it is not a valid source for an iPhone 16 comparison: Google’s Pixel 10a vs. iPhone 17e comparison.

How do the cameras differ?
The iPhone 16 pairs a 48 MP Fusion main camera with a 12 MP Ultra Wide camera. Apple says the main camera enables a 2x telephoto option. The Pixel 10a has a 48 MP wide camera and a 13 MP ultrawide camera, and lists up to 8x Super Resolution Zoom.
Those figures describe hardware and named zoom features, not a controlled image-quality comparison. They do not establish which phone takes better photos in daylight, at night, or of moving subjects.

Are the battery claims comparable?
No. Apple’s figures are playback estimates: up to 22 hours of video playback and up to 18 hours of streamed video playback. Google describes the Pixel 10a as offering more than 30 hours of battery life and lists a typical battery capacity of 5,100 mAh. Since the manufacturers present different measures, the durations should not be treated as a head-to-head test.

What do the charging specifications mean?
Apple says the iPhone 16 can reach up to 50% charge in 30 minutes with a 20 W or higher adapter, or with a qualifying MagSafe setup. Google says the Pixel 10a can reach up to 50% in about 30 minutes using a 45 W or higher USB-C PPS charger. The respective accessories are sold separately. The stated setups differ, so these claims do not show that one particular charger will deliver the advertised rate on both phones.

How much does each phone cost?
Google’s official US Pixel 10a product page lists a starting price of $499. The page was published February 18, 2026; confirm the live offer before buying because prices and availability can change. See Google’s US Pixel 10a product page.
A current US iPhone 16 price for the same storage tier and seller type is not established here, so calculating a dollar difference would be misleading. For a meaningful comparison, check both unlocked 128 GB base models in the same country on the same date. Keep manufacturer prices separate from retailer discounts, carrier credits, financing, and trade-in value. Prices also vary by market; the Spanish Google Store specifications page supports the hardware details, not a US price.

Which phone fits your priorities?
- Choose by ecosystem first: iPhone 16 runs iOS; Pixel 10a runs Android 16 at launch. If you already depend on apps, services, accessories, or device features in one ecosystem, that may matter more than a specification difference.
- Consider the Pixel if you want the larger stated display: Its 6.3-inch panel is larger than the iPhone 16’s 6.1-inch-class display, and Google specifies a 60–120 Hz refresh rate.
- Compare camera features, not just megapixels: The rear-camera hardware and zoom features differ, but the published numbers do not determine real-world image quality.
- Look at update commitments carefully: Google advertises a seven-year update guarantee for the Pixel 10a. A directly comparable iPhone 16 support-duration commitment is not established here.
- Compare local checkout prices: The Pixel’s documented $499 starting price is a US figure; compare it with a current iPhone 16 offer in the same market and on the same purchasing terms.
