The iPhone 16 is the smaller option, with a 6.1-inch display and iOS; the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is much larger, with a 6.83-inch, 144Hz display and Android. The Nothing also lists a periscope rear camera and faster wired charging. Which is the better fit depends on your preferred platform, screen size, camera needs and local price—not on a single universal price gap.
How do the iPhone 16 and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro compare?
The figures below come from Gadgets Now’s comparison and TechRadar’s Phone (4a) Pro specifications. They are published specifications, not results from a controlled head-to-head test.
| Feature | Apple iPhone 16 | Nothing Phone (4a) Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR (Gadgets Now) | 6.83-inch AMOLED, 144Hz, 2,800 × 1,260 (Gadgets Now; TechRadar, 2026) |
| Chip and software listed | Apple A18; iOS 18 (Gadgets Now) | Snapdragon 7 Gen 4; Android 16 and Nothing OS 4.1 (Gadgets Now; TechRadar) |
| Rear cameras | 48MP + 12MP (Gadgets Now) | 50MP main, 8MP ultrawide and 50MP periscope (TechRadar, 2026) |
| Front camera | 12MP (Gadgets Now) | 32MP (TechRadar, 2026) |
| Battery and charging | 3,561mAh; 20W fast charging (Gadgets Now) | 5,080mAh; 50W wired charging; no wireless charging (Gadgets Now; TechRadar, 2026) |
Camera megapixel counts and battery capacities do not establish which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in everyday use. The listed camera arrangements do show a hardware distinction: Nothing includes a periscope camera, while the iPhone’s cited comparison listing gives two rear-camera resolutions. No direct, controlled image-quality or battery-endurance comparison is established by these specifications.

Which phone has the better display and form factor?
Choose the iPhone 16 if you want a smaller screen
At 6.1 inches, the iPhone 16 has a substantially smaller display than the Nothing’s 6.83-inch panel. That makes the iPhone the more natural candidate if you prefer a compact phone; the cited figures alone do not establish its exact dimensions or weight.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.1" Screen size
- iOS Operating System
- 128 GB Flash Memory
Choose the Nothing if you want more screen and a higher refresh rate
The Phone (4a) Pro’s larger AMOLED panel is listed at 144Hz and 2,800 × 1,260 resolution by TechRadar. Those figures may appeal if a large, high-refresh display is a priority. They do not, by themselves, show how the displays compare in brightness, color accuracy or outdoor visibility.
How do their software and performance differ?
The cited Gadgets Now comparison lists the iPhone 16 with Apple’s A18 chip and iOS 18, and the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. TechRadar lists the Nothing software as Android 16 with Nothing OS 4.1. Chip names and operating-system versions do not provide a like-for-like performance result; consider the apps, services and ecosystem you actually use.
Rank #2
- Titanium frame combines strength and lightness, giving the iPhone 16 Pro a premium feel while reducing weight for prolonged daily use. The polished edges and textured back enhance grip and handling, making it easier to use during long calls, gaming sessions, or when capturing photos and videos on the move.
Nothing’s US product page states: “Built on Android 16 with 3 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates.” That is the manufacturer’s published support commitment, not independent verification. The material available for this comparison does not establish a corresponding iPhone 16 update-duration figure, so it would be misleading to infer a support-policy winner from these figures alone.

What do the camera specifications mean in practice?
The Nothing’s listed rear setup spans a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide and a 50MP periscope camera. The iPhone 16’s cited comparison lists 48MP and 12MP rear cameras. A periscope camera offers a distinct camera configuration, but the available specifications do not establish real-world zoom quality or a photo-quality winner.

For selfies, Gadgets Now lists a 12MP front camera for the iPhone, while TechRadar lists 32MP for the Nothing. Resolution alone is not enough to predict image quality, particularly without comparable sample images or testing conditions.
Which phone has the larger battery and faster charging?
The published figures favor the Nothing in nominal capacity and wired charging speed: TechRadar lists a 5,080mAh battery and 50W charging, while Gadgets Now lists 3,561mAh and 20W fast charging for the iPhone 16. These are specification listings, not measurements from a common battery-life test. They do not guarantee that the Nothing will last a particular amount longer in daily use. TechRadar’s specifications also say the Nothing does not support wireless charging.

What is the price difference?
There is no single dependable price difference without matching country, date, seller, storage configuration and offer status. The cited Indian listings disagree on the iPhone 16 price, and the US Nothing figure is a separate market listing. Do not subtract prices from different markets or treat a current offer as a launch price.
| Market and source | iPhone 16 | Nothing Phone (4a) Pro |
|---|---|---|
| India, Gadgets Now listing accessed in 2026 | ₹69,900 offer price | ₹45,985 offer price; ₹49,999 list price |
| India, 91mobiles listing | ₹86,900 | ₹46,949 |
| United States, Nothing official product page accessed in 2026 | Not stated by this source | $419 displayed for 8GB/128GB, with $499 shown as the prior/list amount |
The Indian iPhone listings differ materially, and the cited figures do not establish that their sellers, storage tiers or offer conditions match. Prices and stock can change. Check the seller’s current listing for the exact variant before comparing totals; the Nothing US offer should not be generalized to other countries.

TechRadar’s reviewer recommends the Nothing as a mid-range handset while noting that flagship power and camera quality remain stronger. That is the reviewer’s assessment of the Nothing, not a direct iPhone 16-versus-Nothing test.
When did the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro launch?
The handset is a 2026 model. Gadgets Now identifies March 5, 2026 as its official launch date, while TechRadar reports a March 19 launch or availability date. These may refer to announcement and retail availability respectively; the dates should not be collapsed into one unqualified launch date.
