The iPhone 16 has a well-documented U.S. specification set, but the Moto G Max 5G does not have one consistently reported configuration. Coverage of Brazil and India describes materially different screens, processors, cameras, batteries, and memory options. That means a reliable winner or price difference depends on confirming the Moto’s country, exact model number, and storage configuration first.
Why the exact Moto G Max 5G matters
The available reports do not agree on what the Moto G Max 5G is in each market. Gadgets 360’s June 12, 2026 report describes a global-market launch and a Brazil configuration, while India-focused listings disagree with one another on core specifications. These records should not be combined into a single specification sheet.
Before buying or comparing prices, match the model number or SKU on the phone listing or box to Motorola’s official listing for your country. Also check the seller’s stated RAM and storage. Until that identity is clear, the Moto figures below are reported configurations, not universal specifications.
Specifications at a glance
| Specification | Apple iPhone 16 | Moto G Max 5G |
|---|---|---|
| Market and evidence | Apple’s U.S. technical specifications page, consulted in 2026 | Regional secondary reports conflict: Brazil/global-market coverage and India-focused listings describe different configurations |
| Display | 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED; 2556 × 1179 pixels; 460 ppi | Brazil/global-market report: 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED, up to 120Hz. India reports: 6.72-inch 1080 × 2400 display, with LCD specified in one listing. The Moto panel and size are not settled across reports. |
| Processor | Apple A18, 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU | Brazil/global-market report: MediaTek Dimensity 6000-series. India listings differ: MediaTek Dimensity 6400 in one; Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 in another. |
| Rear cameras | 48MP Fusion main and 12MP Ultra Wide | India listings conflict: one reports 200MP + 8MP; another reports 50MP + 8MP. The Brazil/global-market report cited here does not establish camera details. |
| Front camera | Not stated in the cited Apple specification details | One India listing reports 32MP; other cited reports do not establish a matching value. |
| Battery and charging | Apple states up to 22 hours video playback, or up to 18 hours streamed video playback. These are Apple estimates, not independent test results. | Brazil/global-market report: 5,200mAh and 33W wired charging. An India listing reports 5,200mAh; another reports 7,000mAh. Do not treat capacity as equivalent to Apple’s playback estimates. |
| RAM and storage reported | 128GB capacity on the consulted U.S. product page; RAM not stated there | Brazil report: 8GB/256GB. India listings describe either 8GB/256GB or 6GB/128GB. |
| Water resistance | IP68 under IEC 60529, tested to a maximum depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes; laboratory rating, not a damage-proof guarantee | One India listing reports IP69; a comparable rating is not established across the other configurations. |
| Software | Not stated in the cited specification details | Brazil/global-market report says Android 16-based Hello UI; a matching software claim for each India listing is not established. |
| Price reported | Current price not established in the available evidence | Brazil report: BRL 2,519.10 for 8GB/256GB at publication. India: Gadgets 360 listed ₹27,999 as of October 6, 2026; Digit reported ₹27,999 official price and a ₹26,999 eligible-card early offer. These India listings conflict on configuration. |
Display: compact OLED or larger reported screens
Apple documents a 6.1-inch OLED display with 2556 × 1179 resolution and 460 pixels per inch. That gives the iPhone 16 a clearly specified, relatively compact screen. The cited Apple details do not establish a refresh-rate figure, so this comparison should not infer one.

Moto reports describe either a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate or a 6.72-inch display reported at 1080 × 2400, with one India listing calling it LCD. A larger screen may suit readers who prefer more viewing area, while the reported 120Hz model may offer smoother motion; those are not safe assumptions for a particular handset until its SKU is confirmed.
Cameras: megapixel counts are not a quality verdict
Apple lists a 48MP main camera and a 12MP Ultra Wide camera. The reported Moto camera combinations vary: one India listing gives 200MP + 8MP, while another gives 50MP + 8MP; one also lists a 32MP front camera. These figures identify reported sensors, not comparative photo quality. Megapixel count alone does not establish detail, low-light performance, color, focus, or video results, and the conflicting Moto records prevent a confident feature-by-feature verdict.

Battery and charging are not directly comparable from these figures
Apple’s stated iPhone 16 figures are up to 22 hours of video playback and up to 18 hours of streamed video playback. They are manufacturer estimates rather than independent tests. Moto coverage instead reports battery capacity—5,200mAh in the Brazil report and one India listing, or 7,000mAh in another—and the Brazil report specifies 33W wired charging.
Capacity and playback time measure different things, so the reported mAh figures do not prove which phone lasts longer in everyday use. Apple also lists MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W. Its fast-charge claim is up to 50% in 30 minutes with a 20W-or-higher adapter and USB-C cable, or a 30W-or-higher adapter and MagSafe Charger; the required adapter or accessories are sold separately.

Price difference: no defensible like-for-like figure yet
The available prices are not a same-market, same-date comparison. The Brazil report gives BRL 2,519.10 for a Moto G Max 5G with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage at publication. India-focused sources report ₹27,999, but disagree on the phone’s configuration; Digit also reported an early ₹26,999 price for eligible card users. Those figures are regional reports, not a current cross-market price comparison.
No current iPhone 16 price is established in the cited evidence. To calculate a useful difference, compare local prices for the same date, country, storage capacity, seller condition, and tax treatment, and distinguish a regular price from a temporary or payment-eligible offer. Do not convert the Brazil price into another currency and treat it as a local retail price without accounting for exchange rates, tax, and availability.

Software, storage, and network details to verify
Storage and software
The consulted U.S. Apple page lists the iPhone 16 in 128GB capacity. Moto coverage describes 8GB/256GB in the Brazil report and conflicting 8GB/256GB and 6GB/128GB India configurations. The cited material does not establish a consistent Moto update commitment, so check Motorola’s local product information for the exact model before treating software support as a deciding factor.

Apple’s U.S. configuration lists 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and dual eSIM. Apple notes that model variants differ by region, so these U.S. details should not be applied automatically to phones sold elsewhere. Confirm local cellular bands and SIM support for both devices with the regional manufacturer specifications and your carrier, particularly if buying an imported handset.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- 6.1" Screen size

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the iPhone 16 based on documented specifications if you want the specified 6.1-inch OLED display, A18 chip, 48MP main plus 12MP Ultra Wide cameras, Apple’s stated playback estimates, or MagSafe/Qi2 charging. This is a specification-based choice, not a claim of independent performance testing.
- Consider the Moto G Max 5G only after confirming the exact SKU if a larger display, reported high refresh rate, higher stated battery capacity, or a particular RAM/storage option is important to you. Those attributes vary across the reports, so verify them on the precise regional product listing.
- Wait to compare value until prices are local and like-for-like. Check the Moto model number and configuration, then compare both phones’ current prices in the same market and on the same basis.
