The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is the better fit if you want a large, smooth-scrolling screen and a dedicated 3x optical zoom camera. The Apple iPhone 16 is smaller and lighter, and it runs iOS rather than Samsung’s Android-based ecosystem. On the available US launch-price references, the Galaxy started $100 lower—but those prices are from different years and are not a current deal comparison.

Which phone has the better screen and size?
The Galaxy S26 FE has the larger display: 6.7 inches compared with the iPhone 16’s 6.1 inches. Samsung also specifies a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, which can make scrolling and supported animations look smoother. Apple’s cited iPhone 16 specifications list an OLED display but do not state a matching refresh-rate figure in this comparison.

How do their cameras differ?
The rear-camera layouts offer different kinds of flexibility. The iPhone 16 combines a 48 MP main camera with a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, and Apple says the main camera enables a 12 MP 2x telephoto option. Samsung lists three rear cameras—50 MP, 12 MP and 8 MP—and specifies 3x optical zoom.
Those specifications describe hardware, not which phone takes better photos or video. Megapixel counts and zoom labels alone do not establish image quality; a useful quality verdict requires comparable independent tests. Both cited specifications list a 12 MP front camera.

Are the A18 and Exynos 2500 directly comparable?
Apple lists the A18 chip in iPhone 16, while Samsung’s UK Galaxy S26 FE page lists the Exynos 2500. The manufacturer specifications cited here do not provide a comparable benchmark, so the chip names alone do not establish which phone is faster. If demanding games or heavy workloads matter to you, look for independent tests of the exact regional models rather than treating the processor labels as a result.
What is the price difference?
For the US launch-price references available, Apple announced iPhone 16 at $799 starting in 2024, and TechRadar reported a 2026 US launch price of $699 for the Galaxy S26 FE with 128 GB. That makes the Galaxy’s reported launch price $100 lower. Because the phones launched in different years, this is not a current price difference or a like-for-like offer check.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose Galaxy S26 FE if you want the larger 6.7-inch screen, a specified refresh rate up to 120 Hz, or a rear camera system with 3x optical zoom.
- Choose iPhone 16 if you prefer a more compact, lighter phone or want to stay in Apple’s iOS ecosystem.
- Compare local prices before buying if cost is the deciding factor: the cited $100 gap compares launch prices from different years, not current offers.
- Do not decide from chip or megapixel numbers alone if speed or camera quality is your priority; the cited specifications do not establish a winner in either category.
