The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the bigger phone, with a 6.9-inch QHD+ display and built-in S Pen; the iPhone 16 Pro is smaller and lighter, with a 6.3-inch display and a different three-camera setup. The right choice depends on whether you value screen space and stylus features or a more compact phone and Apple’s iOS ecosystem. There is no reliable current price difference to quote without matching storage, condition, seller and purchase terms.

Specifications are from Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro tech specs, Samsung’s U.S. comparison page and U.S. S25 series specification sheet. They describe hardware, not comparative test results.
Which phone is larger and easier to handle?
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the choice for a larger viewing area: Samsung lists a 6.9-inch display, compared with the iPhone 16 Pro’s 6.3-inch screen. The iPhone measures 149.6 × 71.5 × 8.25 mm and weighs 199 g; Samsung lists the S25 Ultra at 218 g. That 19 g difference and the larger Samsung body may matter if you often use a phone one-handed or carry it in a small pocket, while a larger screen can suit reading, video and stylus work. Those are fit preferences, not evidence that one design is better for everyone.

How do the displays compare?
Both phones support refresh rates up to 120Hz. Samsung lists a higher resolution—3120 × 1440 on its 6.9-inch QHD+ display—while Apple lists 2622 × 1206 on the iPhone’s 6.3-inch OLED. Resolution and diagonal are useful for comparing specifications, but they do not by themselves establish which screen looks better in everyday use; no controlled display comparison is available here.
#1 Best Overall
- Titanium frame combines strength and lightness, giving the iPhone 16 Pro a premium feel while reducing weight for prolonged daily use. The polished edges and textured back enhance grip and handling, making it easier to use during long calls, gaming sessions, or when capturing photos and videos on the move.
What camera hardware do they have?
iPhone 16 Pro
Apple lists a 48MP Fusion main camera, a 48MP Ultra Wide camera and a 12MP 5x Telephoto camera. Its stated digital zoom reaches up to 25x.
Galaxy S25 Ultra
Samsung’s U.S. specification sheet lists a 200MP wide camera, 50MP ultra-wide, 50MP and 10MP telephoto cameras, with 3x and 5x optical zoom and Samsung-listed optical-quality zoom modes.
Rank #2
- STUNNING TITANIUM DESIGN—iPhone 16 Pro Max has a strong and light titanium design with a larger 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR display. It’s remarkably durable with the latest-generation Ceramic Shield material that’s 2x tougher than any smartphone glass.
- BUILT FOR APPLE INTELLIGENCE—Apple Intelligence is the personal intelligence system that helps you write, express yourself, and get things done effortlessly. With groundbreaking privacy protections, it gives you peace of mind that no one else can access your data.
- TAKE TOTAL CAMERA CONTROL—Camera Control gives you an easier way to quickly access camera tools, like zoom or depth of field, so you can take the perfect shot in record time.
The camera arrays offer different hardware and zoom options. Megapixel counts alone do not determine image quality, and these specifications are not a substitute for side-by-side photo and video testing.
Performance, battery and software support
Apple specifies the A18 Pro chip; Samsung specifies the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. Without comparable benchmark testing, those names do not establish which phone is faster for a particular workload.
Rank #3
- Titanium frame combines strength and lightness, giving the iPhone 16 Pro a premium feel while reducing weight for prolonged daily use. The polished edges and textured back enhance grip and handling, making it easier to use during long calls, gaming sessions, or when capturing photos and videos on the move.
Apple rates the iPhone 16 Pro for up to 27 hours of video playback and up to 22 hours of streamed video playback, based on Apple’s own testing. Samsung also publishes battery and playback claims in its product materials, but manufacturers use their own test methods. These figures should not be treated as a direct battery-life contest.
Samsung stated that the S25 series would receive seven years of OS and security updates at launch. That is Samsung’s stated support policy; the current software version may have changed since the series launched. Apple’s cited specification page does not provide a directly comparable support-duration figure.
Rank #4

What is the price difference?
Samsung’s U.S. comparison page displayed a Galaxy S25 Ultra starting price of $1,299.99 before trade-in when accessed on October 7, 2026. It is a dated manufacturer price display, not a guaranteed current street price. The available official specifications do not establish a current, like-for-like U.S. price for the iPhone 16 Pro, so an exact price difference cannot be stated reliably.
For a fair comparison, check current offers for the same country and currency, storage capacity, device condition and lock status. Include tax, financing, trade-in credits, activation fees and any required plan commitment. A monthly installment or trade-in-adjusted offer is not directly comparable to an unsubsidized retail price. Carrier listings may bundle these terms; review the offer details, such as those on AT&T’s device comparison page, before calculating a difference.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S25 Ultra if a 6.9-inch QHD+ screen, integrated S Pen and its multi-camera zoom hardware match how you use a phone.
- Choose the iPhone 16 Pro if you prefer a smaller, lighter device, use iOS, or want Apple’s listed 48MP Fusion, 48MP Ultra Wide and 12MP 5x Telephoto configuration.
These are specification-based decision cues, not a universal verdict on camera quality, performance, battery life or value. The models belong to different size classes and, as introduced in 2024 and 2025 respectively, neither should be described as the newest generation in 2026. Apple announced the iPhone 16 Pro in September 2024; Samsung announced U.S. availability of the S25 series from February 7, 2025.
