The iPhone 15 and Samsung Galaxy S24 5G differ most in operating system, display refresh rate, camera layout and the regional details that affect price and compatibility. Samsung’s specifications here are for an India-market Galaxy S24 variant; the iPhone’s $799 starting price is its historical US launch price, not a current quote. There is no verified like-for-like current price or matched camera, performance or battery test here, so neither phone can be declared the overall winner on that evidence alone.

Which phone fits your operating system and ecosystem?
Choose based on the devices and services you already use
The iPhone 15 is the natural fit if you want an iPhone and already rely on Apple’s devices or services. The Galaxy S24 runs in Samsung’s Android phone range and may be the better fit if you prefer Android or use Samsung devices. The cited manufacturer pages do not establish a complete software-version or support-period comparison, so check the exact regional product listing for current software and update details before buying.
How do the screens compare?
Galaxy S24: a stated 120Hz maximum refresh rate
Samsung specifies a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel at FHD+ resolution, with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. That gives the Galaxy a documented high-refresh-rate specification in this comparison. The cited Apple announcement does not provide the iPhone 15 display size, resolution or refresh rate, so this evidence cannot establish a complete screen-to-screen comparison.

What do the camera specifications say—and not say?
Different camera arrangements and zoom descriptions
Apple describes the iPhone 15 as having a 48MP main camera and a 2x Telephoto option, with three optical zoom levels. Samsung lists three rear-camera resolutions—50MP, 10MP and 12MP—alongside 3x optical zoom, an “optical quality” 2x mode and up to 30x digital zoom. These descriptions indicate different camera and zoom configurations, but megapixel counts and zoom labels do not establish which phone takes better photographs. No matched independent camera test is available here.
What is the price difference?
The available figures are not a current, like-for-like comparison
Apple announced a US launch starting price of $799 for the iPhone 15 on September 12, 2023. That is a historical launch figure, not a current retailer quote. The cited Samsung India specification page does not establish a Galaxy S24 price, and no matched current prices or Samsung US launch price are established here. A defensible price difference therefore cannot be calculated from these figures.
Rank #2
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Compare equivalent listings in your market
To determine what you would pay now, compare the same country, storage capacity, condition (new or refurbished), and retailer for both models on the day you buy. Do not convert the historical US launch price into another currency and treat it as a local current price. Also check whether a listing is for the exact regional model and storage tier you want.

Check network compatibility before ordering
The cited Samsung page covers variant SM-S921BZVQINS for India. It does not establish radio bands or processor configuration for Galaxy S24 models in other markets. Before importing or buying from a different region, verify the exact model number, supported 5G bands and compatibility with your carrier. The cited Apple announcement likewise does not provide a carrier-by-carrier compatibility comparison.

Confirm storage and box contents on the actual listing
Apple’s launch announcement gives iPhone 15 capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. For the cited Galaxy variant, confirm the available storage directly in the local product listing; do not assume a configuration from another country is identical. Samsung says the travel adapter is not included on its India page and cautions that in-box contents can vary by country or region.

Manufacturer figures are not a head-to-head battery test
For the listed India-market Galaxy S24 variant, Samsung states a 4000mAh typical battery capacity and up to 29 hours of wireless video playback. The playback figure is a manufacturer estimate, not an independent test result. The cited Apple announcement does not provide an equivalent battery figure or a directly comparable test, so these sources cannot show which phone lasts longer in everyday use.

How to make the buying decision
- Start with your preferred platform: choose the phone that fits the operating system and ecosystem you want to use.
- Prioritize the screen specification you can verify: Samsung states a maximum 120Hz refresh rate for this India-market Galaxy S24; the cited Apple announcement does not state the iPhone 15 refresh rate.
- Match camera features to your needs: compare the stated camera and zoom configurations, but do not treat them as proof of photo quality.
- Verify the exact product: confirm regional model number, storage, carrier-band compatibility, condition and box contents.
- Compare current local prices: use equivalent storage and condition at the same time and in the same market rather than relying on a historical launch price.
