The iPhone 13 and Samsung Galaxy S23 are both compact, 6.1-inch-class phones, but they differ in operating system, display details, camera layout, and storage choices. There is no verified current price difference to report: a fair comparison depends on matching country, storage, condition, seller, and carrier status.
How do the iPhone 13 and Galaxy S23 compare on specifications?
The iPhone 13 was introduced in 2021. The Galaxy S23 is the base model in Samsung’s S23 family, distinct from the larger S23+ and the more advanced S23 Ultra. Manufacturer specifications are useful for identifying hardware, but they do not establish which phone performs better in everyday use.

| Display measurement | 6.1-inch OLED, according to Apple | 6.1-inch full-rectangle measurement; Samsung gives 5.9 inches accounting for rounded corners. Actual viewable area is smaller because of rounded corners and the camera hole. |
| Resolution | 2532 × 1170 pixels at 460 ppi, according to Apple | Not stated in the cited Samsung announcement. |
| Processor | A15 Bionic, according to Apple | Not stated in the cited Samsung announcement. |
| Rear cameras | Dual 12MP system: main and ultra-wide, according to Apple | Not stated in the cited Samsung announcement. |

| Water-resistance rating | IP68 under IEC 60529; Apple specifies a maximum depth of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes. | Not stated in the cited Samsung announcement. |
| Dimensions and weight | 146.7 × 71.5 × 7.65 mm. Apple regional specifications in the cited results differ on weight: an English page lists 174 g, while other regional pages list 173 g. | Samsung’s announcement provides dimensions and weight, but those figures are not included in the cited evidence here. |

Which phone suits your operating system and ecosystem?
This is a choice between iOS and Android as much as between two handsets. Consider the operating system you already use, the apps and services you rely on, and whether you want continuity with other devices in your ecosystem. Neither manufacturer’s hardware specifications settle that personal fit.

What should you consider about their displays?
Both phones are described as 6.1-inch devices, but the measurements are not identical in meaning: Samsung reports both a full-rectangle diagonal and a smaller figure accounting for rounded corners, and notes that the usable area is smaller still. Apple lists the iPhone 13’s resolution and pixel density. The cited evidence does not provide a matching S23 resolution figure or a verified comparison of refresh behavior, so it cannot support a claim that one screen is smoother or better.
How do their cameras differ?
Apple specifies two 12MP rear cameras on the iPhone 13: a main camera and an ultra-wide camera. The cited Samsung announcement does not establish the S23 camera specifications, and the available evidence includes no independent, matched camera test. It therefore does not support a verdict about image quality, zoom flexibility, or low-light results.

Is there a current price difference?
No like-for-like current price difference is established. A valid comparison requires active offers in the same country and matching storage capacity, condition, seller type, and carrier status. A used or refurbished listing should not be compared as though it were a new phone. Check the listing’s exact model and whether it is unlocked before comparing totals.

- Match storage capacity and condition across the listings.
- Confirm whether each phone is new, used, or refurbished, and compare equivalent seller types.
- Check whether the phone is unlocked or tied to a carrier.
- Verify the exact regional model number and supported 5G bands with your carrier; the “5G” label alone does not establish compatibility in every country or network.
- Compare the final live price in your market rather than assuming one model is cheaper based on its launch or historical price.
What can specifications alone tell you?
The manufacturer information identifies key iPhone 13 hardware and clarifies Samsung’s screen-size convention for the base S23. It does not provide a robust independent head-to-head test of sustained performance, battery life, camera results, or present-day value. Those outcomes should not be inferred from the specifications above.
