The realme GT 6T is the better fit if you want a large 120Hz screen, high-capacity battery and very fast wired charging. The iPhone 12 is smaller and lighter, runs iOS, supports MagSafe and has Apple’s dual-camera system. Neither is a universal winner: your preferred operating system, size, camera needs, device condition and the price of an in-stock listing matter more than a spec-sheet verdict.

Which phone has the better display and feel?
Choose the GT 6T for screen space and refresh rate
Its 6.78-inch panel is substantially larger than the iPhone’s 6.1-inch screen, and it supports refresh rates up to 120Hz. That can make scrolling and supported animations look smoother, while the larger area suits video and games. realme lists 2780 × 1264 resolution and typical brightness of 1000 nits, HBM brightness of 1600 nits and local peak brightness of 6000 nits.

The iPhone 12 is 16mm shorter, 3.6mm narrower and 27g lighter than the GT 6T based on the listed dimensions and weights. Its 6.1-inch OLED has a resolution of 2532 × 1170 at 460 ppi. Apple lists 625 nits typical maximum brightness and 1200 nits HDR peak brightness. The manufacturers’ brightness figures use different conditions, so they do not establish which screen is brighter in a direct comparison.

- Successfully passed a full diagnostic test which ensures like-new functionality and removal of any prior-user personal information.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a charging cable that may be generic.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
How do performance and software differ?
The GT 6T uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, listed up to 2.8GHz. The iPhone 12 uses Apple’s A14 Bionic, with a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. These specifications alone do not show how the phones compare in everyday speed, gaming or sustained performance; no comparable benchmark is available here.
The practical distinction is also Android versus iOS. Choose based on the apps, services, settings and other devices you already use. The cited comparison lists Android 14 with realme UI 5 for the GT 6T, but current software versions and future support periods are not established here. The iPhone 12 dates to 2020, while the GT 6T launched in India in 2024; age is relevant context, but does not by itself prove how long either phone will continue receiving updates.

Which has the better battery and charging?
The GT 6T has a 5500mAh typical battery capacity; realme’s India page footnote gives a rated capacity of 5360mAh. It supports 120W SUPERVOOC wired charging. realme advertises reaching 50% in 10 minutes under its stated test conditions, so treat that as a manufacturer claim rather than a guaranteed result for every charger, temperature or usage pattern.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsApple does not state the iPhone 12 battery capacity on its specification page. It rates video playback at up to 17 hours, while listing MagSafe wireless charging up to 15W, Qi up to 7.5W and fast charging up to 50% in 30 minutes with a 20W-or-higher adapter. Apple says the adapter is sold separately. Capacity and manufacturer-rated playback time are different measures, not a head-to-head battery test.

- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
If charging speed and a large stated capacity are your priorities, the GT 6T’s specifications are more compelling. If you already use MagSafe or Qi accessories, the iPhone 12 offers wireless charging options the cited GT 6T specifications do not list.
How do their cameras compare?
The GT 6T has a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultrawide. Its listed video modes include 4K at 60 and 30 frames per second. The iPhone 12 has two 12MP rear cameras, a main and an ultrawide, and supports Dolby Vision HDR video recording up to 4K at 30 frames per second.
Rank #4
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- When you receive the phone, insert a SIM card from a compatible carrier. Then, turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on screen prompts to activate service.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
For selfies, the GT 6T lists a 32MP front camera and video up to 4K at 30fps. The iPhone 12 has a 12MP TrueDepth front camera and lists Dolby Vision HDR recording up to 4K at 30fps. Megapixel counts and recording-mode lists do not establish which phone takes better photos or video. If camera quality is decisive, compare sample images and footage from the specific models in the lighting and situations you care about.
What is the price difference?
A 91mobiles price-tracker snapshot showed ₹22,949 for the GT 6T and ₹49,900 for the iPhone 12, but both listings were marked out of stock. Those figures are not a current purchasable price comparison and do not establish matching storage, condition, seller or warranty. Check live listings on the same day before deciding; compare the same region, storage capacity and condition, and include seller, warranty and any offer terms.

This matters especially for the iPhone 12, which may be offered used or refurbished. Check the phone’s actual condition, battery health, warranty and return terms rather than treating a listing price as the cost of an equivalent new handset.
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the realme GT 6T if you want a large 120Hz display, USB-C, a high-capacity battery and 120W wired charging, and prefer Android.
- Choose the iPhone 12 if you want a compact, lighter phone, prefer iOS, or value MagSafe and Qi charging.
- Decide on camera needs with evidence: the hardware and video specifications differ, but megapixels alone cannot identify the better camera.
- Compare actual offers before paying: match storage and condition, and confirm stock, seller, warranty and—for a used iPhone—battery health.
Water resistance, connectors and what comes in the box
The listed ratings are IP65 for the GT 6T and IP68 for the iPhone 12; they are not interchangeable guarantees. Apple says the iPhone 12’s resistance was tested in a laboratory to 6m for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529, and warns that resistance can decrease with wear. Do not interpret either rating as a promise that a particular phone will remain undamaged in every exposure.
The GT 6T uses USB Type-C; the iPhone 12 uses Lightning and supports MagSafe and Qi wireless charging. Apple states that the iPhone 12 does not include a power adapter or EarPods. realme Singapore lists an 11V/11A adapter in the box, but box contents can vary by region; check the exact India retail listing rather than assuming the accessory is included locally.
