Intuit announced on October 15, 2026, that it signed an agreement to acquire Sequence, a revenue-management company founded in 2021 and operating from London and New York. Intuit says Sequence automates the quote-to-revenue process for complex business models. The companies did not disclose financial terms, so the often-repeated acquisition value of approximately $200 million is not confirmed.
What Intuit announced
The transaction is an agreement to acquire Sequence, not a completed acquisition. Intuit did not provide a closing date. After closing, Intuit says it will continue supporting Sequence customers and work toward an integrated offering in the following months.

What Sequence’s platform does
Sequence is a quote-to-revenue platform designed to connect commercial terms with downstream finance operations. Its stated scope runs from configuring a deal and setting prices through billing, invoicing, collections and revenue recognition.
#1 Best Overall
From contract terms to recognized revenue
The platform is aimed at companies whose invoices and accounting entries cannot be handled well by a simple recurring subscription. Sequence specifically supports consumption- or usage-based charges, seat-based pricing, milestone billing and hybrid arrangements that combine several models. In practice, that means a finance team can define how a contract should be priced and billed, then manage the resulting collection and revenue-recognition work in the same workflow.
AI agents for recurring finance work
Grover describes Sequence as automating the entire process from contract to revenue recognition, with AI agents handling daily tasks alongside finance teams. The description emphasizes secure collaboration with finance staff rather than replacing financial controls or judgment. The announcement does not provide independent accuracy, speed or cost benchmarks.

Why Intuit says it bought Sequence
Intuit presents the deal as a way to add a complete revenue-management capability and AI engineering talent to its mid-market products. Its stated target is the growing group of businesses that use usage-based, milestone-based or other hybrid pricing models, where the handoff from sales to billing and accounting is often fragmented.

Target customers and industries
- B2B software companies: Businesses may bill for consumption, active seats, implementation milestones or combinations of those measures.
- Professional-services firms: Projects and deliverables can require milestone billing and revenue recognition tied to work completed.
- Mid-market finance teams: These organizations often need more sophisticated controls than a basic invoicing tool while still wanting a connected accounting workflow.
- Accounting firms: Intuit says the expanded capabilities are intended to help firms serving clients with complex revenue models.
Ashley Still, Intuit’s executive vice president and general manager of the Small Business & Mid-Market Group, said Sequence would let Intuit deliver mature revenue management and extend Intuit Enterprise Suite into industries adopting AI consumption models, including B2B software and professional services.
How the deal fits Intuit’s product strategy
Intuit’s announcement links Sequence to Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced rather than presenting it as an unrelated standalone product. The planned integration could connect Sequence’s commercial and revenue workflows with Intuit’s accounting environment, but the companies have not yet specified which features will be integrated, when they will ship or whether existing products will change.
For customers, the immediate practical point is continuity: Intuit says Sequence customers will continue to be supported after closing. Any broader product or pricing changes remain to be announced.

How much did Intuit pay?
Intuit’s official announcement says, “Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.” That makes approximately $200 million an unconfirmed secondary figure, not an established purchase price. Unless Intuit, Sequence or a later regulatory filing publishes consideration, the defensible answer is that the amount paid is unknown.

Before the proposed sale, Sequence raised $19 million in a 2022 seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). The round was reported on September 19, 2022. Salesforce Ventures, Firstminute Capital, Crew Capital, Passion Capital, Dig Ventures, Fin Capital and 9Yards also participated.

That funding total is venture capital raised, not evidence of the acquisition price. A company’s financing history and a later sale valuation are separate figures.

- The final purchase consideration and deal structure.
- The expected closing date and any regulatory or other closing conditions.
- Which Sequence capabilities will appear in Intuit Enterprise Suite or QuickBooks Online Advanced.
- Whether Sequence will remain a distinct product, be rebranded or be embedded across Intuit offerings.
- Integration timelines, customer pricing and migration requirements.
Those details matter because quote-to-revenue systems touch contracts, invoices, collections and accounting records. Until Intuit publishes an integration plan, the announcement establishes strategic intent rather than a finished product roadmap.
Why quote-to-revenue automation matters
Traditional finance systems often split pricing configuration, contract management, invoicing, collections and revenue recognition among separate tools. That fragmentation becomes harder to manage when a customer’s bill changes with usage, seats or milestones. A connected workflow can reduce manual handoffs and give finance teams a consistent record of how a commercial agreement becomes an invoice and an accounting entry. Sequence’s acquisition is intended to address that workflow gap for the mid-market, but measurable benefits will depend on the products Intuit ultimately delivers.
