The Intel Core 5 205H has appeared on PassMark for the first time, recording 19,390 points in the multi-thread test and 3,699 in the single-thread test. Those displayed averages are 15.7% and 10.6% higher, respectively, than the Core i5-13420H. The important qualification is that the 205H score comes from only one submitted system, and PassMark marks its margin of error as high, so these are early indications rather than a settled product-wide performance guarantee.
What the first PassMark result shows
PassMark’s PerformanceTest V10 listing, dated 14 October 2026, reports the following results:
| Processor | Multi-thread score | Single-thread score | Samples | Margin of error |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Intel Core 5 205H | 19,390 | 3,699 | 1 | High |
| Intel Core i5-13420H | 16,751 | 3,345 | 6,789 | Low |
Using those displayed averages, the 205H is 2,639 points, or approximately 15.7%, ahead of the i5-13420H in multi-thread performance. Its single-thread lead is 354 points, or approximately 10.6%. The arithmetic supports the headline’s “15% faster” description, but the comparison is not equally reliable for both chips: the i5-13420H average combines 6,789 submissions, while the 205H figure represents one submission.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread

It is about 15.7% faster in this initial PassMark multi-thread comparison, not a confirmed performance level for every Core 5 205H laptop. A single result can be affected by the host system’s cooling, power limits, memory configuration, firmware and background activity. PassMark’s high-error warning is therefore material. More submissions are needed before the displayed 19,390 average can be treated as representative.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The same caution applies to the 10.6% single-thread advantage. It is the difference between the current PassMark averages, not a promise that every application will run 10.6% faster. Software scaling, sustained temperatures and the particular laptop implementation can all change the outcome.
Core configuration and clock speeds
Both processors use an 8-core, 12-thread layout made up of four performance cores and four efficient cores. The reported specifications differ mainly in peak frequency and graphics capability:

Does the Core 5 205H have integrated graphics?
No. The 205H is reported to have no integrated GPU. A laptop or compact system built around it generally needs a discrete graphics processor for display output and graphics workloads. That makes the platform fundamentally different from the i5-13420H, which includes Intel UHD Graphics.

This distinction matters when comparing complete systems. A 205H machine may pair its CPU with a discrete GPU, adding graphics performance but also affecting price, power draw, cooling and battery life. The PassMark CPU result does not measure those system-level trade-offs.

How to compare a 205H system with an i5-13420H system
CPU benchmark averages are only one part of the buying decision. Compare the complete implementations using these checks:
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- Performance data: Use multi-thread and single-thread results, while recording the PassMark sample count and error status.
- Power and cooling: Check the laptop or motherboard’s sustained power limits and cooler, not just the processor’s nominal 45 W class.
- Graphics: Account for the 205H’s lack of integrated graphics and identify the discrete GPU required for display and games.
- Peak frequency: The reported 205H turbo is 4.8 GHz versus 4.6 GHz for the i5-13420H, but sustained clocks depend on temperature and firmware.
- System value: Compare memory, storage, screen, battery, discrete GPU, warranty and local price and availability.
What the benchmark does not prove
No controlled data in this first listing establishes sustained thermals, battery life, gaming performance, application-specific gains or long-run reliability for the Core 5 205H. Those outcomes cannot be inferred from one PassMark submission. The result is best read as an initial signal that the 205H can outperform the i5-13420H in this benchmark, pending a larger sample of systems.
