Integrated MC is a Forge modpack for Minecraft 1.20.1. The CurseForge listing currently identifies version 1.6.8 as the latest release and provides a separate Integrated_Minecraft-1.6.8_server_pack.zip. For a working multiplayer setup, the dedicated server and every player’s client must use the same Minecraft version, Forge loader branch, Integrated MC release, and compatible Java runtime. The steps below cover server installation, first launch, Internet access, client synchronization, hosting choices, updates, and recovery from common errors.

What Integrated MC is and which version to install

Integrated MC is the official modpack for the Integrated Structures mods. Its content is organized around exploration, quests, recipes, lore, loot, generated structures, terrain generation, and expanded combat. The published pack listing is for Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge. Do not select a generic “latest” Minecraft or loader option in a launcher: treat the Minecraft version, loader, and pack release as one compatibility tuple.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The listing identifies Integrated MC 1.6.8 as the latest listed release and shows a separately published server archive named Integrated_Minecraft-1.6.8_server_pack.zip. That server-pack file is dated April 14, 2026. The same listing records 1,845,505 downloads in 2026. Those figures describe the listing at that time; a later release may supersede 1.6.8, so check the project page’s file list before creating a new world.

Compatibility at a glance

Component Required choice for the listed release Why it matters
Pack Integrated MC 1.6.8, or the exact release you intentionally choose Mods, recipes, structures, and configuration files can change between releases.
Minecraft 1.20.1 A mod compiled for another Minecraft branch may fail during loading or corrupt a world.
Mod loader Forge for 1.20.1 The listing is a Forge pack; a NeoForge build is not an interchangeable substitute.
Server files Integrated_Minecraft-1.6.8_server_pack.zip A server pack normally excludes client-only files and supplies the intended dedicated-server layout.
Java A runtime compatible with the 1.20.1 branch; Java 17 is the normal target for this generation Java requirements are tied to Minecraft, not simply to the newest Java installed on the computer.

Prepare the host before installing

Decide where the server will run and who will administer it. A computer at home gives you direct control over files and costs, while a managed server can keep the process online without leaving your own machine running. Either approach still needs the exact pack and loader versions.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
  • Storage: leave room for the server files, logs, backups, and a growing world. World size increases as players explore new terrain.
  • CPU: modded terrain generation and several players exploring different areas can create short bursts of CPU demand. A faster processor generally improves tick stability more than simply adding memory.
  • Memory: set a sensible Java heap for the number of players and mods, then adjust after observing the server. More memory cannot repair an incompatible mod, loader, or Java version.
  • Operating system: Windows and Linux are both practical. Windows uses run.bat; Linux commonly uses run.sh.
  • Network: Internet players need a reachable address and a firewall/router rule for the server port. The default Minecraft port is 25565 unless you deliberately configure another port.
  • Backups: choose a separate disk or storage location for dated world copies before the first public session.

Download the correct Integrated MC files

Use the server pack for a dedicated server

  1. Open the Integrated MC project’s file list and select the release you want. For the release discussed here, select 1.6.8 for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge.
  2. Download Integrated_Minecraft-1.6.8_server_pack.zip, not only the client import ZIP. Keep the archive unchanged until you have copied it to a new server directory.
  3. Create a dedicated folder such as IntegratedMC-Server. Do not install the server inside your personal client’s instance folder; separating them makes backups and rollbacks safer.
  4. Extract the server archive into that folder. If the ZIP contains a nested directory, place the files so that the generated launch script and configuration files are in the directory you intend to run.

If the project does not provide a server archive for a particular release, create a separate instance of the normal pack and use its files only as a starting point. You must still install the matching Forge server and remove client-only components before inviting players.

Install the matching Forge server

Download the Forge installer for Minecraft 1.20.1 from the same loader branch named by the pack. Do not mix a NeoForge installer, a different Minecraft version, or an installer build intended for another pack. Run the installer in the server directory and select the dedicated-server option when the installer presents it. The exact Forge build should be the one required by the pack’s manifest or server-pack documentation.

java -jar /path/to/neoforge-installer.jar --installServer

That command illustrates a NeoForge-style workflow; it is not a license to install NeoForge into Integrated MC. For this pack, use the equivalent Forge installer workflow with the Forge 1.20.1 installer and files. After installation, confirm that the server directory contains the Forge launch files and libraries before starting the game server.

Start the server and accept the EULA

Windows

  1. Open the server directory in File Explorer.
  2. Run the generated run.bat script. The first launch normally creates configuration files and then stops.
  3. Open eula.txt in a text editor. Change eula=false to eula=true only after reading and accepting Mojang’s End User License Agreement.
  4. Save the file and run run.bat again. Keep the console window open while the server is running.

Linux

  1. Change to the server directory in a terminal.
  2. Make the generated script executable if necessary, for example with chmod +x run.sh.
  3. Run ./run.sh. The first launch creates eula.txt and stops.
  4. Edit the file, set eula=true after accepting the agreement, save it, and run ./run.sh again.

The first successful launch can take longer while Forge and the pack build caches. Wait for a clear “done” or equivalent ready message before trying to connect. Stop the server from its console with the normal stop command rather than closing the window, so world data is flushed safely.

Check the server’s mod files

The server’s mods folder should contain the server-required mods supplied by the server pack and the matching Forge libraries. Client-only visual, menu, shader, or resource-pack features must not be copied to a dedicated server unless their documentation explicitly says they are server-safe. A supplied server pack has usually already removed those files; do not “fix” it by copying the entire client instance over the top.

  • Compare the server’s mods directory with the pack’s server archive contents.
  • Keep configuration files from the same Integrated MC release. Mixing configuration folders from another release can produce missing registry entries or unexpected world generation.
  • If you add an extra mod, add it to every required side only after confirming that it supports Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge and the pack’s other dependencies.
  • Record every manual change in a text file beside the server so you can reproduce the installation after a rollback.

Make the server reachable on a local network or over the Internet

Local network play

Players on the same home network can usually connect to the host computer’s local address. The host firewall still has to allow Java or the server process to accept connections. Give players the host’s local IP address and the configured port.

Internet play

  1. In the server configuration, confirm which port is in use. Minecraft’s default is 25565; a custom port must be communicated to every player.
  2. Create an inbound firewall rule on the host for that port and the Java/server process.
  3. If the host is behind a home router, forward the same TCP port to the host computer’s local IP address. Reserve that local address in the router so the rule does not break after a reboot.
  4. Give friends the public address and, when applicable, the port in the form address:port. Do not post your public address in an open forum.
  5. Test from outside the home network, such as a friend’s connection or a mobile hotspot. A test from inside the same network can succeed even when router forwarding is wrong.

Some Internet providers place customers behind carrier-grade NAT, which prevents ordinary inbound forwarding. In that case, use a provider or network design that supplies a reachable address, or keep the server limited to local play. Do not disable the firewall globally as a shortcut.

Install the matching client pack for every player

  1. Each player installs the same Integrated MC release selected for the server—in this example, 1.6.8 for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge.
  2. Use the launcher’s import function for the client pack or install the listed files through the project’s supported distribution method.
  3. Set the client to the Forge 1.20.1 profile created for Integrated MC. A vanilla 1.20.1 profile is not sufficient.
  4. Use a compatible Java runtime. Do not let one player’s launcher silently choose Java 21 while another uses an older runtime if the selected pack or launcher reports a conflict.
  5. Launch the pack once in single-player to allow files and configurations to be generated, then close it before joining the dedicated server.
  6. Enter the server address and port. If the client reports missing mods, registry mismatches, or a failed handshake, stop and correct the version or file difference instead of repeatedly reconnecting.

Every player should import the identical pack release and loader. A client-only visual mod may remain on an individual client when the mod supports that arrangement, but it must not be added to the dedicated server merely to make the folders look identical.

Self-hosting versus managed hosting

Self-hosting costs less when you already have suitable hardware and gives you direct control over files, logs, and configuration. You are also responsible for Java installation, process supervision, backups, router and firewall rules, updates, and keeping the machine online. A managed service is useful when you want 24/7 availability or do not want to administer those components; the provider’s panel and support process become part of your operating model.

Decision point Questions to verify before choosing
Minecraft and loader support Can the service pin Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge rather than forcing a newer branch?
Server-pack upload Can you upload Integrated_Minecraft-1.6.8_server_pack.zip or extract it through SFTP/file management?
Java selection Can you select the runtime required by the 1.20.1 Forge server instead of accepting an incompatible default?
CPU and memory Are resources dedicated or shared, and can the plan be changed if exploration causes lag?
Backups and rollback Are backups automated, how long are they retained, and can you restore a dated world without opening a ticket?
File and SFTP access Can you inspect logs, replace a mod, edit configuration, and download a backup?
Scheduled restarts Can the panel restart the server during a quiet period and send a warning first?
Location and latency Is there a data-center location close to most players, and is the advertised network capacity suitable for modded traffic?
Price and cancellation Is the price recurring, what happens when payment stops, and can you export the world and configuration?

Do not assume that a one-click Minecraft installer includes the exact Integrated MC server pack. Confirm that the panel lets you pin the version, upload the archive, select Java, and retain independent backups.

Memory, startup, and routine administration

The generated launch script or JVM-argument file controls the heap assigned to the server. Increase memory only after checking the log, operating-system pressure, and player activity. If the host begins swapping, reduce competing applications or move the server to a machine with more usable memory. A heap change does not solve a wrong loader, a missing dependency, or a client/server mod mismatch.

Update Integrated MC or Forge without losing the world

NeoForged’s server documentation gives the essential warning: “Always backup your world before updating NeoForge or mods!” The same discipline applies to this Forge pack. Make a dated copy of the complete world directory before changing the pack, loader, Java runtime, or a large mod set.

  1. Stop the server with the console’s stop command.
  2. Copy the world directory and record the current Integrated MC release, Minecraft version, Forge build, Java version, and installed mods.
  3. Test the new release in a separate server directory. Never use the only copy of a valuable world as the test environment.
  4. Apply the new server pack and matching Forge files, preserving the backup outside the active directory.
  5. Start the test server, inspect the log for errors, and join with clients that have been updated to the same tuple.
  6. If the test fails, restore the previous directory and world backup. Change one variable at a time on the next attempt so the cause remains identifiable.

World-generation changes deserve extra caution: newly explored chunks can permanently reflect the active mod set. A backup made before the update is the only reliable way to return to the earlier state.

Troubleshooting checklist

Symptom Likely checks Corrective action
Server exits immediately Java major version, Forge installer, EULA, and the first error in the log Install the runtime appropriate to Minecraft 1.20.1, rerun the matching Forge installer, set eula=true after accepting the agreement, and fix the first reported dependency rather than later cascading errors.
“Incompatible mod set” or handshake failure Client and server pack release, Minecraft version, Forge build, and mods contents Re-import the exact client release and restore the server’s supplied mod list. Remove client-only files from the server.
Players cannot connect from the Internet Server listening port, host firewall, router forwarding, local host address, and carrier-grade NAT Open the configured port, forward it to the correct local address, and test from outside the home network. Use a reachable hosting arrangement if inbound forwarding is impossible.
Server loads but crashes when a player joins Crash report, recently added mod, Java version, and client-only additions Restore the last known-good backup, remove or update the newest change, and retest with one variable changed at a time.
Severe lag during exploration CPU saturation, memory pressure, disk activity, and several players generating distant terrain Reduce competing processes, adjust the heap only when the log and system metrics justify it, limit simultaneous exploration, or move to stronger hardware. Do not expect extra RAM to fix incompatibility.
World will not open after an update Backup availability and whether the loader or mod set changed Stop the server, restore the dated pre-update world and previous files, then test the update in a separate directory.

When diagnosing any failure, verify the four fundamentals first: Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge rather than NeoForge, the intended Integrated MC release, and a compatible Java runtime. Then compare server and client mod lists. Changing several items at once hides the cause and makes a successful rollback harder.

A practical launch checklist

  • Integrated MC release selected and recorded.
  • Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge selected on both sides.
  • Server-pack ZIP extracted into a dedicated directory.
  • Matching Forge server installed; no NeoForge files mixed in.
  • First launch completed, EULA accepted, and a clean stop performed.
  • Server-required mods present; client-only visual files excluded.
  • Java runtime verified on the server and in each client launcher.
  • Firewall and router configured for port 25565 or the documented custom port.
  • At least one dated world backup stored outside the live server directory.
  • Every player imported the same pack release before connecting.

Bottom line for an Integrated MC server

Use the project’s dedicated server archive whenever it is available, install the Forge server for Minecraft 1.20.1, and keep the release identical on every client. Accept the EULA on first boot, open only the port the server actually uses, and back up the world before every loader or mod update. Self-hosting is appropriate when you want control and can maintain Java, networking, and backups; managed hosting is appropriate when continuous availability and delegated administration matter more.
