InsureandGo Gold advertises up to £15 million for medical and repatriation expenses, £7,500 for cancellation and curtailment, and £2,500 for baggage, with a standard £50 excess. These are headline limits—not automatic payouts. Whether Gold suits you depends on your trip type, medical declarations, the reason for a claim, and any add-ons you need.
What Gold covers at a glance
InsureandGo’s UK product summary, retrieved 7 October 2026, lists these headline benefits for Gold:
| Benefit | Advertised Gold amount | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Medical and repatriation expenses | £15 million | Check the applicable policy wording, medical screening outcome and schedule. |
| Cancellation and curtailment | £7,500 | The reason for cancellation must meet the policy terms; the limit does not make every reason eligible. |
| Personal belongings and baggage | £2,500 | Check item limits, exclusions and whether valuables need an extension. |
| Standard excess | £50 | The excess is the part of an eligible claim you pay yourself. The FAQ says other excess options may be available for most claim types. |
These figures describe the advertised limits, not a promise that a particular loss will qualify or be paid in full. The wording and your policy schedule determine how cover applies. InsureandGo’s UK product summary lists Gold alongside Silver, Black and Budget, but the reviewed material does not establish current Gold prices.

Is Gold suitable for your trip?
Gold may be worth considering if its advertised limits fit your budget and the needs of your trip. It is not automatically the right tier for every traveller: compare the benefit limits with the cover you actually need and account for exclusions, excesses and optional extensions.
#1 Best Overall
When comparing Gold with Silver or Black, look at more than the headline medical amount. Check cancellation and baggage limits, the excess, annual-trip duration, and whether your medical conditions and planned activities are covered on the terms you need. The current product summary provides advertised figures, but it does not establish current prices or make a complete comparison of every policy condition.
Single-trip and annual multi-trip limits differ
Trip length depends on the kind of policy. InsureandGo’s FAQ states that Gold annual multi-trip cover allows trips of up to 45 days each. Its single-trip page says a single-trip policy may run for up to 365 days. Confirm the maximum that applies to your policy and destination before buying.
Rank #2
The FAQ also distinguishes when cancellation cover starts: for a single-trip policy, it says cover starts from purchase; for annual cover, it starts from the selected policy start date. Check your schedule for the dates that apply to you.

InsureandGo says it considers pre-existing medical conditions, but a related claim is not covered if the condition was not declared. Disclose conditions accurately and complete the insurer’s screening process; do not assume that an advertised medical limit means a particular condition is covered.

A UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) is not a replacement for travel insurance and does not provide repatriation cover. Review the policy terms alongside any state healthcare entitlement relevant to your destination.
Cancellation cover depends on the reason
The cancellation limit applies only when the reason meets the policy terms. InsureandGo’s FAQ gives examples of excluded situations, including a circumstance already known before buying or booking and simply changing your mind. Those examples are not a complete list; use the wording that applies to your policy to check the full conditions and exclusions.

Baggage, valuables and optional cover
The Gold headline baggage limit is £2,500, but that amount may not reflect what is payable for an individual item or a particular type of loss. InsureandGo describes an optional valuables extension. Its gadget page states limits of up to £2,000 in total and £1,000 per single item, but you should confirm that those limits apply to your policy by checking the current booklet and schedule.

Consider whether you need optional cover for valuables, gadgets, cruises, golf or hazardous activities. Do not assume an item or activity is covered simply because it appears in general product information; check the selected options and policy terms.

Use the booklet that matches when you bought the policy
InsureandGo’s policy-booklet page, updated 26 August 2026, separates documents by purchase date: policies bought on or after 4 August 2026; on or after 9 June 2026; and between 15 April 2024 and 8 June 2026. Choose the booklet matching your purchase date, then check your schedule for your selected cover and any extensions. Older wording should not be treated as proof of the terms in a newer policy.
The insurer identifies the booklet as the source for full terms and exclusions. Read it before relying on a headline limit, especially if your trip involves a medical condition, expensive belongings, a cruise or an activity that may need extra cover. Find the policy documents on InsureandGo’s website.
