Third-party Instagram Story viewer services advertise a way to view Stories from public profiles without signing in to your own Instagram account. But the available information does not establish a verified “top” service or prove that any provider guarantees anonymity. StoriesFly and InstaStory describe how their own tools work, but those are provider claims—not independent tests.
Can you view an Instagram Story anonymously?
Not through a built-in anonymous-viewing feature in Instagram, according to Bitdefender’s guidance. When you view a Story while signed in, the account you used can be associated with that view. Third-party services advertise a different route for public profiles, but their claims about anonymity and how they handle requests should be treated cautiously.
These services should not be assumed to hide every trace of activity, work consistently, or reveal private content. The available information does not establish any provider as a verified choice for reliability or privacy.
What do the named services say they offer?
The following descriptions come from each provider’s own page. They are not independent verification of the service’s actual behavior, security, or privacy practices.

| Service | Provider’s description | What has not been verified |
|---|---|---|
| StoriesFly | StoriesFly says visitors can enter a public username without signing in and that its own session opens the Story. Provider page | Whether the service works as described, how it handles data, and its privacy practices have not been independently verified. |
| InstaStory | InstaStory says its servers fetch publicly available content and that it works only with public accounts. Provider page | Whether the service works as described, how it handles data, and its privacy practices have not been independently verified. |
Neither description supports a claim that the service can access private profiles or guarantee anonymous viewing. Availability and features can also change.
How to assess a viewer service’s claims
- Check the stated profile scope. The two services above describe public-profile viewing. Do not interpret that as access to private accounts.
- Notice whether it asks for your Instagram login. Meta advises people not to give their Facebook or Instagram password to a site outside the official Facebook or Instagram websites and apps, or an authorized Login with Facebook flow. See Meta’s guidance on clone sites.
- Separate claims from evidence. A provider’s explanation of how it handles requests is a self-description, not an independent privacy or security audit.
- Be wary of promises to view private Stories. Bitdefender identifies private-Story access claims as a red flag. A public-profile viewer description does not establish private access.
What Instagram’s security context means
Meta has described enforcement involving clone sites and unauthorized scraping, including a case involving the collection of profile information and Stories. That context is a reason to be cautious about third-party scraping and to protect your credentials; it does not show that every viewer service uses the same technology or behaves the same way.

Bitdefender also cautions that workarounds such as airplane mode or using a secondary account do not guarantee anonymity. Do not treat any workaround or third-party viewer’s claim as proof that a Story owner cannot identify a view.
Is either service a verified top choice?
No. The available evidence consists of provider descriptions and general security guidance, not current independent testing of reliability, privacy, or service availability. It does not support ranking StoriesFly above InstaStory, or recommending either as safe or guaranteed anonymous. Treat both as unverified services, and do not provide your Instagram password to an outside site.
