Buy the Infinix GT 30 Pro if you need a documented India model now; wait for the GT 50 Pro if its expected larger battery, newer Dimensity 8400 Ultimate chip and Android 16 software are worth an as-yet-unconfirmed price above the GT 30 Pro’s ₹31,999 MRP. Infinix is expected to announce the GT 50 Pro in India on 27 October 2026, so its final storage, warranty and launch price are not confirmed as of 15 October.
India price and availability
The GT 30 Pro is the only model in this comparison with a complete India listing. Infinix Mobiles India shows an MRP of ₹31,999 for the 8GB RAM/256GB storage configuration and also lists a 12GB/256GB option. The displayed amount is an MRP, not a guaranteed sale price or bank-offer price.
Digit reports an expected India launch date of 27 October 2026 for the GT 50 Pro and places it below ₹40,000. That is launch reporting rather than a confirmed India price: the final MRP, retail offers, storage variants, warranty terms and channel availability remain to be published by Infinix.

Processor and gaming: what the upgrade could mean
Dimensity 8400 Ultimate versus 8350 Ultimate
The expected Dimensity 8400 Ultimate puts the GT 50 Pro in a newer performance tier than the GT 30 Pro’s Dimensity 8350 Ultimate. That indicates a platform upgrade, but there is no like-for-like benchmark or sustained-gaming test covering both Indian models. Buyers should not convert the chip names into a guaranteed frame-rate or battery-life percentage.

For the GT 30 Pro, Infinix Product Director Weiqi Nie described the Dimensity 8350 Ultimate as delivering “smooth high-frame-rate gaming, effective thermal control, and optimized power usage—crucial for maintaining consistent performance across both gaming and daily use.” That is the manufacturer’s product statement, not an independent test.
Cooling and controls
The GT 30 Pro uses a 3D Vapor Cloud Chamber and can pair with an active MagCharge Cooler. Its physical GT triggers, claimed 120FPS support, customizable Mecha Lights and bypass charging target players who want controls and reduced charging heat while gaming.
Digit reports a Hydroflow Liquid Cooling System for the GT 50 Pro. The different cooling designs may affect sustained performance, but neither cited source provides an independent thermal comparison, so the GT 50 Pro should be treated as an announced design change rather than proven superiority.
Battery and charging differences
If the India report is accurate, the GT 50 Pro’s 6,500mAh battery has 1,000mAh more capacity than the GT 30 Pro’s 5,500mAh pack—about an 18% increase. This is a capacity calculation, not a measured endurance result: screen brightness, refresh rate, modem use, game workload and chipset efficiency determine actual runtime.
Charging speed is not the obvious upgrade. Both phones are associated with 45W wired and 30W wireless charging in the cited material, while the GT 30 Pro additionally lists 10W reverse wired charging. Infinix’s global GT 50 Pro launch material confirms the 45W wired and 30W wireless figures, but regional availability still depends on the India launch.

Display, cameras and software
The GT 30 Pro has a fully specified 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPS AMOLED panel that can run at up to 144Hz and uses Gorilla Glass 7i. Reporting on the GT 50 Pro points to another 144Hz AMOLED-class display, but does not establish its size, resolution, glass or brightness for India. Anyone buying for a particular panel specification should wait for the official India sheet.
Camera information currently favors the GT 30 Pro for certainty: its India listing names a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 13MP selfie camera. The GT 50 Pro’s India camera hardware is not stated, so a newer processor or battery should not be interpreted as a camera upgrade.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteSoftware is a clearer generational distinction. The listed GT 30 Pro runs XOS 15 based on Android 15, while Digit expects Android 16 with XOS 16 on the GT 50 Pro. Infinix has not established the India model’s update policy here, so software-version advantage should be weighed separately from promised update duration.
Which phone should you buy?
Choose the GT 30 Pro now when
- You need a phone before the expected 27 October launch.
- You want a published India MRP, known 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB options, and a clear warranty and retail listing.
- GT triggers, a 144Hz 1.5K AMOLED display, wireless charging and the documented camera setup matter more than an untested performance gain.
- Your budget is around the ₹32,000 MRP rather than the GT 50 Pro’s expected sub-₹40,000 bracket.
Wait for the GT 50 Pro when
- You can wait for the 27 October announcement and want the possibility of the larger battery and newer platform.
- Android 16/XOS 16 at launch is important to you.
- You are comfortable making a decision only after Infinix confirms India storage, price, protection rating, cameras and warranty.
- You play long sessions and want to assess the reported Hydroflow cooling system in independent tests before buying.
What to verify on launch day
- Check Infinix’s India product page for the final MRP and every RAM/storage SKU; do not assume the global configuration is sold in India.
- Confirm whether the advertised ₹40,000 ceiling is an MRP, introductory price or retailer offer, and note the offer’s expiry and payment conditions.
- Read the India specification sheet for battery capacity, wired and wireless charging, reverse charging, display resolution, camera sensors and IP rating.
- Verify the software build, update commitment, in-box charger and warranty terms for the exact seller and region.
- Look for independent battery, benchmark and sustained-gaming tests before paying a premium; the available announcements do not establish comparative results.
Bottom line
The GT 30 Pro is the lower-risk purchase because its India price and hardware are already documented. The GT 50 Pro is the more interesting wait if a roughly 18% larger reported battery, a newer Dimensity tier and Android 16 matter more than immediate availability, but its value cannot be judged definitively until Infinix publishes the India price and complete SKU.
