For a value-focused three-row luxury SUV buyer, the Infiniti QX60 is the stronger buy in this comparison. The tested 2027 QX60 Autograph AWD cost $73,750, while the tested 2026 Genesis GV80 3.5T Prestige AWD came to $84,475. The comparison author also reported better fuel economy and more usable cargo space in the Infiniti; the Genesis stands out for its more premium-feeling cabin and stronger, smoother V6.
Those conclusions apply to these two specific test vehicles, not every QX60 and GV80 trim. The driving impressions below are attributed to Tom’s Guide, whose comparison was published August 20, 2026.
How the tested QX60 and GV80 compare
Both vehicles in the comparison are all-wheel-drive, three-row luxury SUVs, but they differ in model year, engine, and price. The figures below describe the exact vehicles driven in the Tom’s Guide comparison, not their entire model lines.

These are the comparison author’s reported vehicle and economy figures, published August 20, 2026—not independently verified test results. The $10,725 difference between as-tested prices is calculated from those two prices and should not be treated as a current quote or a general price gap between the models. Why the QX60 is the better buy for everyday value
Its lower test price leaves room to weigh the trade-offs
The tested Infiniti was more than $10,000 less expensive as configured. For a buyer who prioritizes useful family transport over the most luxurious cabin, that gap makes the QX60 the more persuasive choice in this comparison. It is not a universal verdict: a shopper may reasonably value the Genesis’s cabin and power enough to pay more.
The comparison favors the Infiniti for fuel economy and cargo use
Tom’s Guide reported higher fuel-economy figures for the tested 2027 QX60 Autograph AWD than for the tested 2026 GV80 3.5T Prestige AWD. The author also found the Infiniti’s usable trunk more accommodating. That is a qualitative comparison; a matched cargo-volume measurement for these exact test configurations is not established here, so it would be misleading to assign a precise side-by-side capacity figure.

INFINITI’s 2026 QX60 model page lists seating for seven and 75.4 cubic feet of cargo volume, along with 268 hp and a 6,000-pound towing capacity. Those are manufacturer-published 2026 model-page figures, not a direct measurement of the tested 2027 vehicle. Check the trim’s equipment and the owner’s manual before relying on a configuration-specific cargo or towing figure. INFINITI’s 2026 QX60 page provides that manufacturer context.
Where the GV80 earns its higher price
A more premium cabin and refined ride
The comparison author described the GV80’s cabin as more lavish and its ride as quieter. The author also highlighted massaging front seats. These are the author’s driving and feature observations, not claims from an independent test conducted for this article.

More power from the tested V6
The tested GV80’s 375-hp twin-turbo V6 has a substantial output advantage over the QX60’s 268-hp variable-compression turbo. Tom’s Guide characterized the Genesis’s performance as stronger and smoother. That may matter more than the Infiniti’s price and economy advantage to drivers who prioritize power delivery and a more upscale driving experience.

The manufacturer pages offer helpful context, but their base or model-line figures should not be substituted for specifications of the vehicles in the comparison. For example, Genesis lists the 2026 GV80 2.5T RWD at a $57,700 starting MSRP, with 300 hp and 20/26 mpg city/highway; it also lists an available power-folding third row for up to seven occupants. Those figures concern the 2.5T rear-wheel-drive model, not the 2026 3.5T Prestige AWD that was driven. See Genesis USA’s 2026 GV80 page for that model context.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the QX60 if the lower as-tested price, the comparison author’s better reported fuel economy, and the author’s finding of more usable cargo space matter most to you.
- Choose the GV80 if you are willing to pay more for the tested vehicle’s stronger V6 and the more premium cabin and quieter ride described by the comparison author.
