India Cements shares climbed 7.58% to ₹436.60 on the NSE in early trading on April 27, 2026, after the cement maker reported audited consolidated fourth-quarter FY26 results. Net profit rose to ₹59.5 crore from ₹14.67 crore a year earlier, while stronger domestic volumes, higher realisations and lower expenses improved the quarter’s earnings profile.

What happened to India Cements shares

India Cements stock was quoted at ₹436.60 on the National Stock Exchange in Monday morning trade, up 7.58% from the previous close. This is an early-session move, not a closing-day return; the share price can change substantially before the market closes.

The move followed the company’s release of audited consolidated results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2026. The board approved the results on April 25, 2026. The figures therefore cover Q4 FY26, the March quarter of the financial year that ended March 31, 2026.

The Q4 FY26 numbers behind the rally

Metric Q4 FY26 Q4 FY25 or change
Consolidated net profit ₹59.5 crore ₹14.67 crore; more than fourfold increase
Revenue from operations ₹1,228.65 crore 2.6% year-on-year increase
Total income ₹1,254.50 crore 2.57% year-on-year increase
Total expenses ₹1,174.79 crore 10.5% year-on-year decline
Domestic sales volume 3.12 million tonnes 18% year-on-year increase
Net realisation Not stated as an absolute figure Up 3.5% quarter on quarter and 6.2% year on year

The headline profit growth was much faster than revenue growth. That difference matters: the quarter’s improvement was supported not only by selling more cement, but also by a lower expense base and better realisation per unit. The reported material does not provide a separate EBITDA or operating-margin figure, so the profit increase should not be converted into an assumed margin percentage.

Volumes and pricing both improved

Domestic sales reached 3.12 million tonnes, an 18% increase from the year-ago quarter. Net realisation increased 3.5% compared with the December quarter and 6.2% compared with Q4 FY25. Higher volumes expand the tonnes sold, while improved realisation indicates that the average value obtained per unit was stronger than in the comparison periods.

Expenses fell despite higher sales

Total expenses declined 10.5% to ₹1,174.79 crore, even as domestic volume rose. Alongside the 2.6% increase in revenue from operations, that reduction helped produce a much larger bottom-line gain than the top-line change alone would suggest.

How the full year changed

For the year ended March 31, 2026, India Cements’ consolidated loss narrowed to ₹67.25 crore from ₹143.69 crore in the previous year. Consolidated income increased 5.33% to ₹4,572.35 crore. The company therefore remained loss-making on a full-year consolidated basis, but the deficit was less than half the prior year’s loss.

That distinction is important when interpreting the share move: Q4 was profitable and substantially stronger year on year, while the complete FY26 result still recorded a net loss.

India Cements’ ownership and business context

India Cements became a subsidiary of UltraTech Cement effective December 24, 2024, after UltraTech acquired the promoter stake. The ownership change is part of the background investors consider when assessing the company’s results, but the Q4 figures themselves are reported on a consolidated basis for India Cements.

The National Stock Exchange filing describes cement and cement-related products as the company’s single reportable segment. The reported results therefore do not present separate segment profits for different businesses.

How to read the market reaction

  • Profit surprise: Net profit increased from ₹14.67 crore to ₹59.5 crore, creating the clearest year-on-year improvement in the release.
  • Operating momentum: Domestic volume grew 18%, materially faster than revenue growth of 2.6%.
  • Realisation support: Net realisation rose both sequentially and year on year.
  • Cost improvement: Total expenses fell 10.5%, amplifying the effect of higher sales.
  • Continuing qualification: The full year still ended with a consolidated loss of ₹67.25 crore.

The 7.58% figure describes early trading on April 27, 2026. It should not be treated as a guaranteed or final response to the results, and it is not a recommendation to buy or sell the stock. Investors evaluating the company should check the complete audited filing, subsequent price movements and their own risk tolerance.
