No public lookup is established that can locate a phone just by entering its IMEI—and the available evidence does not verify that Spylix can do this. An IMEI identifies a device on a mobile network; it is not a public GPS tracking interface. If you lost your own phone, use the device maker’s official recovery service and contact your carrier.
Can you track a phone with its IMEI?
Usually, not through a public “IMEI tracker online.” The IMEI is a device identifier used on mobile networks, not a code that reveals live GPS coordinates to anyone who enters it. A carrier may use the IMEI when handling a stolen-device report and may be able to block that device from connecting to its network. That is different from showing you the phone’s location. Prey Project’s guide to device-tracking methods describes this distinction.
The IMEI can still be useful when reporting a theft to your carrier or police. It does not replace an account-based recovery tool, and sharing it with a site promising a location lookup does not establish that the site can find the device.
Does Spylix track a phone by IMEI?
That capability is not verified. Available evidence does not establish that Spylix can locate a phone using only its IMEI, or explain what access, installation, consent, supported devices or regions, data practices, or price such a service would involve. Do not treat an “IMEI tracker” claim as proof that a phone can be located. Before relying on any service, look for clear documentation of how it obtains location data and whose permission it requires.

How to find your own lost phone
Use the official recovery service associated with the phone’s operating system and account. These services depend on device and account settings; consult the maker’s instructions for the options available to your device. If the phone may have been stolen, contact your carrier to report it and ask about blocking the device using its IMEI.
- Try the maker’s recovery service: Check whether it can show a current or last known location and offer actions such as ringing, locking, or erasing the phone.
- Contact your carrier: Report the loss or theft and ask about its process for suspending service or blocking the reported device.
- Protect your accounts: If you cannot recover the phone, use the account provider’s official guidance to secure access and consider the recovery service’s lock or erase options.

What if you suspect someone is tracking you?
Covert phone monitoring is a safety issue, not a reason to install another tracking app. The Federal Trade Commission warns that an abusive partner or ex-partner could use stalkerware to secretly monitor a device and online activity. It also cautions that seeking help or removing software may alert the person monitoring the device. If you may be in danger, consider contacting an advocate from a safer device before changing settings or removing anything. See the FTC’s stalkerware safety guidance for steps to consider.
Apple likewise says its item trackers should not be used to track people without consent. Its guidance explains how to respond to unwanted tracking alerts and find an unknown tracker; it does not turn an IMEI into a public location lookup.

What an IMEI can—and cannot—tell you
- It can identify a device on a mobile network. A carrier may use it when processing a stolen-device report or blocking network access.
- It does not itself show a location. A number lookup is not the same as GPS tracking or an account-based lost-device service.
- It does not establish permission. Tracking another person’s phone without their knowledge or consent raises serious safety and legal concerns.
