The IKEA SMAKSAK 004.169.47 is a built-in microwave-and-oven combination with forced-air convection—not the separate SMAKSAK forced-air oven. IKEA Singapore’s 2024 buying guide lists a 43-litre usable capacity, 1,000 W maximum microwave output and outer dimensions of 59.4 × 56.7 × 45.5 cm. Those specifications make it worth considering where one appliance needs to handle both microwave tasks and oven cooking, but installation, cabinet fit and local electrical requirements need checking before purchase.

IKEA Singapore identifies article number 004.169.47 as the stainless-steel SMAKSAK microwave combi with forced air. It combines microwave functions with conventional oven heating and fan-forced convection. It is not the standalone SMAKSAK forced-air oven; product listings and manuals for that other appliance should not be treated as documentation for this microwave combi.

The 1,000 W figure describes the stated maximum microwave output; it does not establish cooking speed or performance against another appliance. The guide does not provide independently measured heat distribution, comparative test results or long-term reliability data.
What does the combination design mean in practice?
The main appeal is having microwave capability and oven cooking in one built-in appliance. The listed modes cover microwave use, grilling, top and bottom heating, and fan-forced convection. That flexibility may suit a kitchen where space for separate appliances is limited, but the guide’s specifications alone do not show how well the unit performs with particular recipes or simultaneous loads.

IKEA describes the SMAKSAK range as suitable for smaller kitchens. Its India-region series page says, “The forced air oven can cook several dishes at once without compromising on taste.” This is IKEA’s manufacturer claim about the series, not an independent finding for every load or a verified test result for model 004.169.47.

Will it fit, and what does installation require?
IKEA Singapore’s 2024 guide gives the appliance’s outer dimensions and says it can be installed in a high or base cabinet. It also says installation is required and that no plug is included. The listed outer dimensions are not a substitute for the required cabinet opening or installation clearances.

- Measure the intended cabinet opening and compare it with the installation documentation for the exact regional version.
- Confirm the electrical circuit, connection method and local code requirements with a qualified installer.
- Check whether the installation requires additional parts or work; the Singapore guide does not establish requirements for every market.
- Verify that the appliance and its documentation match article number 004.169.47, rather than the separate forced-air oven.
Do not assume that Singapore’s installation details or electrical arrangements apply where you live. IKEA’s SMAKSAK series page lists a five-year guarantee for India; that regional statement should not be taken as the warranty term in other countries. Check the guarantee and installation terms applicable to your market.
How should you approach a lock or control problem?
The IKEA Singapore guide confirms a child-safety lock, but the exact unlocking button sequence for this model was not verified here. If the controls appear locked, use the manual supplied for your region and article number 004.169.47. Do not assume instructions for the standalone SMAKSAK forced-air oven apply to the microwave combi.

For installation fit, controls, condensation or temperature questions, first confirm that the information concerns this exact SKU. Questions and search listings about other SMAKSAK appliances do not establish that this model has a defect or that a reported issue is common.

The published specification is useful for shortlisting, but it cannot answer questions about real-world cooking performance or reliability. Before committing, verify the regional manual, cabinet fit, electrical setup, included accessories and local guarantee for the exact article number.
