A TV can be loud and still make dialogue difficult to follow: overall volume raises voices, music and effects together, while speech clarity depends more on how voices are reproduced and balanced. A dedicated Voice or Voice Enhance mode is therefore more relevant to this problem than a large wattage figure or a subwoofer alone.

HT Tech’s October 3, 2026 guide names five soundbars in the under-₹15,000 category: boAt Aavante 2.1 1650, Philips TAB4228/94, JBL Cinema SB190, Sony HT-S100F and Samsung HW-B45EF/XL. Its accessible article text does not list each model’s price, and the Samsung India page currently marks the HW-B45EF “Not for sale,” so check the exact model’s price and availability with a local seller before choosing.

Why louder audio may not make dialogue clearer

Raising the TV’s volume makes the whole soundtrack louder; it does not necessarily make speech easier to distinguish from music, effects or background noise. A dialogue-focused sound mode can be a more direct remedy when a soundbar supports one. Samsung, for example, says its Voice Enhance feature boosts vocal audio and optimizes EQ, but that is the manufacturer’s description—not independent listening-test evidence for these five models.

A subwoofer is a different consideration. It can add low-frequency weight and fullness, but its presence does not establish that speech will be clearer. Compare voice features, speaker layout and connections rather than treating wattage or bass as a measure of dialogue intelligibility.

Which model may fit your priorities?

For a dedicated dialogue mode

The JBL Cinema SB190 and Sony HT-S100F are listed with a Voice mode; Samsung lists Voice Enhance for the HW-B45EF. If dialogue is your main concern, these are the models in this shortlist with an explicit voice-focused feature established in the sources. A mode name is not proof that one will sound clearer in your room, so look for a seller’s return terms and, where possible, listen before buying.

Samsung’s feature is specifically documented for Samsung soundbars. Samsung India Support says Voice Enhance is supported on 2022-and-later Samsung soundbar models and can be enabled with the soundbar remote or the SmartThings app. Its guidance concerns Samsung products and should not be assumed to describe how the JBL or Sony Voice modes work. ULTIMEA Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer, App Control, for Home Theater
  • Wireless Subwoofer, Place It Anywhere: The wireless subwoofer connects to the soundbar without audio cables, giving you the freedom to place it anywhere in your room for flexible setup.
  • Mica-Reinforced Drivers for Greater Accuracy: Mica-reinforced diaphragms increase driver rigidity by up to 30%, helping suppress cone breakup and unwanted resonance. The enhanced stability helps reduce distortion by up to 20%, delivering cleaner, more accurate sound with improved clarity and detail.
  • VoiceMX Technology for Clear Dialogue: VoiceMX technology uses advanced DSP algorithms to isolate and enhance vocal frequencies in real time. By dynamically boosting the 120 Hz–6 kHz vocal range with adaptive EQ and gain control, dialogue stays clear and easy to follow in any scene.
  • BassMX Deep Bass Technology: With an 18 mm high-excursion driver, 6.5 L tuned cabinet, and high-density magnetic circuit, the wireless subwoofer produces strong low-frequency output. BassMX optimizes 45–150 Hz bass for deeper, tighter, and more realistic sound at any volume.
  • 240W Peak Output with 2.1 Channel System: Featuring a precision-tuned soundbar and a dedicated wireless subwoofer, the system delivers up to 240W of peak power for room-filling sound. With a frequency response of 45 Hz–18 kHz and a maximum SPL of 95 dB, it reproduces clear dialogue, detailed mids, and impactful bass for movies, music, and gaming.

For a simpler setup or less emphasis on bass

The Sony HT-S100F is the only 2.0 model in this group and has no dedicated wireless subwoofer. That makes it worth comparing if you want a compact soundbar without a separate wireless bass unit; it still has a Voice mode, HDMI ARC, optical and USB. The specifications alone do not establish how it will perform in a particular room.

For a subwoofer and fuller low frequencies

The other four models are 2.1 systems: the Philips uses a wired subwoofer, while the boAt, JBL and Samsung options are listed with wireless subwoofers. Choose among them based on placement, inputs and sound modes—not on the assumption that more bass means more intelligible dialogue. HT Tech’s article reports buyer feedback that Philips’s bass can overpower other frequencies; treat that as anecdotal feedback, not controlled testing.

Check TV compatibility and room fit before buying

Match the TV’s audio connection

HDMI ARC or eARC can carry TV audio back to a compatible soundbar and may support control through the TV remote, but the TV needs a matching ARC/eARC port. Check the labels on the TV itself and the soundbar’s exact model specification before relying on that connection. ARC and eARC are not interchangeable assumptions: confirm that the ports and capabilities on both devices meet your needs. Optical is another listed option on several models; the table shows the connections reported for each.

Consider the room and bass preference

HT Tech offers general guidance to match compact soundbars with smaller rooms and higher-output or subwoofer systems with larger rooms. That is not a measured room-sizing rule: room shape, placement, furnishings and listening distance also affect what sounds balanced. If bass-heavy sound tends to mask speech for you, a subwoofer should not be the deciding feature.

Verify the price and stock of the exact model

The five picks appear in a category framed as under ₹15,000, but the accessible HT Tech article does not provide an individual price table. Samsung’s India newsroom said its 2025 soundbar range launched starting at ₹14,990; that historical starting price does not show that any one model in this list currently sells below ₹15,000. The HW-B45EF India page is marked “Not for sale,” making a current-stock check especially important for that model. Prices and availability can vary by seller and date; verify the full model name and suffix, local price and stock before ordering. Samsung also notes that specifications and prices may change without prior notice.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
