The Galaxy S25 FE is lighter, thinner and has a larger listed battery than the S24 FE—but those specification changes alone do not prove better battery life, camera results or sustained performance. My threshold is straightforward: I would want demonstrated improvements in the areas that affect daily use, not just a new model number. Samsung’s published comparison shows some progress, but leaves key buying questions unanswered.
What would make me buy another Galaxy FE?
I would want three things before treating a new FE as a worthwhile upgrade: a meaningful improvement in real-world battery life, camera results that are visibly better where I use them, and a clear overall value advantage over the previous model. These are buying criteria, not claims that the S24 FE failed in those areas. Without side-by-side testing, I cannot say the S25 FE has met them.
Samsung’s US product page establishes specification changes between the S25 FE and S24 FE. It does not establish comparative results for battery endurance, image quality, heat or sustained performance. That distinction matters: a higher number on a spec sheet is a reason to investigate, not proof of a better experience.
Has Samsung made the S25 FE lighter and thinner?
Yes, according to Samsung’s US comparison. The S25 FE is listed at 190 g and 7.4 mm thick, versus 212.9 g and 8.0 mm for the S24 FE. That is a listed reduction of 22.9 g and 0.6 mm. For someone who finds a large phone cumbersome, this is the clearest tangible change in the comparison—and it may be enough to make the newer model more appealing in hand, though the figures alone cannot establish how comfortable it feels in everyday use.

Both models have a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, according to Samsung. The screen size and stated maximum refresh rate therefore do not mark a change in this comparison. Samsung’s S25 FE page and comparison provide the listed specifications.
Is the S25 FE camera better than the S24 FE?
Samsung lists a 50 MP wide camera and an 8 MP telephoto camera for both generations. The listed ultrawide camera changes from 10 MP on the S24 FE to 12 MP on the S25 FE, and the front camera changes from 10 MP to 12 MP. Samsung says the main cameras are the same and describes the higher-resolution selfie camera as delivering clearer selfies and sharper video calls; that is the manufacturer’s claim, not independent image testing.
Megapixels do not tell you whether photos look better. The comparison does not show whether the S25 FE improves low-light shots, zoom, video, color or consistency. If those are the camera changes you need, the listed specifications are not enough to justify an upgrade. The front-camera resolution increase is a specific hardware change, but its real-world benefit remains unverified here.

Samsung lists a 4,900 mAh battery for the S25 FE, up from 4,700 mAh for the S24 FE. Samsung also advertises up to 28 hours of video playback for the S25 FE and describes all-day use. Those are manufacturer claims, not an independent side-by-side endurance result; actual battery life varies with settings, network conditions and usage. The 200 mAh increase is a measurable specification change, but it does not establish that the phone lasts longer in the ways you use it.
Samsung says the S25 FE supports up to 45 W wired charging and up to 15 W wireless charging, and says a full wired charge can take under an hour with a compatible charger. The available comparison does not establish an independently tested charging improvement over the S24 FE, so I would not treat those figures as proof that a charge is faster than on the previous model. Samsung’s product page gives the stated charging and playback figures.
Does the S25 FE offer a meaningful performance or support upgrade?
Samsung lists an Exynos 2400 processor in the S25 FE and an Exynos 2400e in the S24 FE. Those names do not, by themselves, show how the phones compare in speed, heat or sustained workloads. Without comparable performance testing, I would not count the processor listing as proof of a practical performance gain.

Samsung says the S25 FE supports up to seven generations of OS upgrades and up to seven years of security updates. The company notes that update availability and timing vary by device and market, so the promise should not be read as a universal rollout schedule. For context, Samsung India’s S24 FE product page lists a security update period through October 31, 2031; that is a date for that regional listing, not a global support timeline. Samsung’s US MSRP sheet effective March 2026 lists the same prices for unlocked S25 FE and S24 FE configurations. Samsung warns that prices may change without notice, and MSRP is not the same as a current street price. Use these figures as a dated reference, not as a claim about what either phone costs today.

With the listed MSRP equal, the S25 FE’s lighter body and updated front and ultrawide camera resolutions may matter to some buyers, but the price comparison alone does not establish better value. Should you buy, wait or skip the Galaxy S25 FE?
Buy it if the listed changes match your priorities
- You want a lighter, thinner phone and consider Samsung’s listed reduction meaningful.
- You value the higher listed front-camera and ultrawide-camera resolutions, while understanding that they do not guarantee better photos.
- You want Samsung’s stated long-term update commitment and have checked what applies in your market.
Wait if your must-have is a proven improvement
- You need evidence of longer real-world battery life, better low-light or zoom photos, faster charging, or stronger sustained performance. Samsung’s published comparison does not establish those gains.
- You are choosing between generations mainly on price. The March 2026 US MSRP sheet shows equal list prices, but it does not tell you today’s street prices or promotions.
Skip the upgrade if you already have an S24 FE and its size works for you
The specifications show a genuine but selective update: a slimmer, lighter body, modestly higher listed ultrawide and front-camera resolutions, and a 200 mAh larger listed battery. They do not establish a compelling across-the-board improvement in daily performance. If none of those changes solves a problem you actually have, the available evidence gives little reason to upgrade on specifications alone.
Samsung’s UK product page includes one customer review saying the battery life “could be better,” alongside Samsung’s reply that battery life may be lower during initial optimization. A single review is anecdotal, not representative evidence, so it cannot settle how the S25 FE performs for buyers generally. Samsung UK’s S25 FE page contains the review and response.
