The HyperX Cloud Stinger 3 Wireless is a sensible choice if you want a light, comfortable PC gaming headset with both 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth. The trade-offs are a budget-feeling build, an ordinary boom microphone, no wired-audio fallback, and a reported NGENUITY recognition problem on one reviewer’s PC. Tom’s Hardware found its sound enjoyable rather than exceptional; HyperX’s 80-hour battery figure is a manufacturer claim tested under specified conditions, not an independent result.
What the Cloud Stinger 3 Wireless does well—and where it falls short
This review concerns the PC model, SKU BS1T8AA. Tom’s Hardware reviewer Sarah Jacobsson Purewal published her hands-on review on June 25, 2026, describing the headset as comfortable and good-performing for its price. That is one reviewer’s assessment, not a broad owner consensus or a long-term durability finding. Her summary was: “The Cloud Stinger 3 Wireless offers impressive comfort and performance for its price.” Read the Tom’s Hardware review.
| What matters | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Comfort and weight | Tom’s Hardware measured 10.1 oz (286.5 g) and found the headset comfortable to wear for hours. |
| Wireless | Choose between a 2.4 GHz USB dongle connection and Bluetooth 5.2; the modes do not play simultaneously. |
| Battery | HyperX claims up to 80 hours in 2.4 GHz mode, based on continuous playback at 50% headset volume. |
| Sound | Balanced and detailed enough to enjoy games and music, but limited soundstage width and some blending in dense scenes were noted in the review. |
| Microphone | Fine for routine game chat, but less natural and polished than a standalone USB microphone, according to the reviewer. |
| Build and fallback | The reviewer found the construction cheap-feeling; there is no wired-audio connection. |
Is it comfortable for long gaming sessions?
Comfort is the clearest strength in the cited review. The lightweight frame, leatherette-covered memory-foam earcups, and adjustable metal sliders made extended wear comfortable for the reviewer. The 286.5 g weight is Tom’s Hardware’s measurement, not a manufacturer figure.

How does it sound in games, music, and Bluetooth use?
Tom’s Hardware described the sound as fairly neutral for music and detailed in layered game environments. The limitations appeared in demanding scenes: sounds could blend together when a mix became dense, and the soundstage did not feel especially wide. Expect enjoyable everyday gaming audio, not a particularly expansive or class-leading presentation.
The headset uses a closed-back over-ear design with 50 mm drivers, according to HyperX. Its published frequency-response figures are inconsistent: HyperX lists 10 Hz to 50 kHz, while Tom’s Hardware’s specification table lists 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, although the review prose repeats HyperX’s range. Those figures do not establish how the headset sounds in practice, so the listening observations are more useful than choosing one of the conflicting ranges.
Bluetooth is useful for calls or casual listening away from the gaming device, but it sounded somewhat compressed to the reviewer. Treat it as a convenience rather than assuming it will match the 2.4 GHz connection for audio quality.

Can it use Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz at the same time?
No. The headset can switch between its 2.4 GHz USB wireless connection and Bluetooth, but it does not mix the two audio sources simultaneously. If you need game audio and a phone call or other Bluetooth audio at once, this is the wrong connection arrangement.
HyperX lists a wireless range of up to 20 m and a four-hour charging time. These are manufacturer specifications, not measurements from the cited review; real range and charging experience can vary with surroundings and use.
Is the 80-hour battery life realistic?
HyperX advertises up to 80 hours in 2.4 GHz mode, with its test condition specified as continuous playback at 50% headset volume. The figure is a manufacturer claim, not an independent battery test reported by Tom’s Hardware. Actual runtime may differ with volume, usage, connection mode, and battery condition.

HyperX’s product page for the PC model also lists the included USB wireless dongle and HyperX USB cable. The listed four-hour charging time is likewise a manufacturer specification. See HyperX’s Cloud Stinger 3 Wireless PC product details.
Is the microphone good enough for calls and game chat?
The non-detachable boom microphone flips up to mute. The reviewer found voice pickup clear enough for ordinary chat, but thin and slightly fuzzy compared with a standalone USB microphone. If teammates need intelligible communication, it should do the job; if you record, stream, or prioritize voice quality, plan on a separate microphone.
Does it work with your platform and with NGENUITY?
HyperX lists the PC SKU BS1T8AA as compatible with PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch in dock mode, Mac, and mobile. Those are manufacturer-listed compatibility claims; check HyperX’s current notes for your specific device and connection before buying. The reviewed testing included use with a PC.

HyperX lists NGENUITY software compatibility, but Tom’s Hardware reported that neither the current nor legacy version it tested recognized the headset on the reviewer’s PC. The same review says the headset worked out of the box, so this is a specific software-configuration concern—not evidence that the headset cannot function. If you rely on software controls or customization, factor that uncertainty into your choice.
Take care not to confuse this PC headset with the separate Xbox-branded CloudX Stinger 3 Wireless, SKU BS1U0AA. The Xbox variant has its own compatibility listing; do not assume that its platform support applies to the PC model. View the separate CloudX Stinger 3 Wireless listing.
What do you get, and what is the build like?
HyperX describes the headset as a closed-back, over-ear design with leatherette and memory-foam earcups, metal sliders, onboard volume and mode controls, and a swivel-to-mute noise-cancelling microphone. The stated box contents are the headset, USB wireless dongle, HyperX USB cable, and quick start guide. HyperX lists a limited two-year warranty.

Those are manufacturer specifications and packaging claims. In her hands-on review, Purewal found the headset’s construction cheap-feeling, despite the comfortable padding and metal sliders. The available review does not establish long-term durability, so it would be a mistake to treat either the budget impression or the listed materials as a durability test.
Is it worth the price?
At roughly the $100 class, the Cloud Stinger 3 Wireless makes the most sense for someone who values comfort, low weight, and flexible wireless switching more than premium construction or a high-quality mic. It is a less convincing buy if you need simultaneous Bluetooth and game audio, a wired fallback, reliable software recognition, or polished sound in complex scenes.
HyperX’s ROW product page displayed $100.00 when checked for the cited product details, while Tom’s Hardware showed an Amazon offer of $99.99 in its June 25, 2026 review. Those are dated price observations, not promises of today’s price or stock. Check the live listing in your region, and verify it is the PC SKU BS1T8AA rather than the Xbox-oriented BS1U0AA.

Quick Recap
Who should buy it?
