The Hyperledger Cacti workshop is a recorded, three-hour online course from November 14, 2022—not a currently scheduled class. It introduces blockchain interoperability, surveys several related projects, and then focuses on Cacti’s architecture and development examples. You can use the recording and slides as learning materials, but treat the setup instructions and sample code as historical, not as verified guidance for current Cacti releases.
What is blockchain interoperability?
Blockchain interoperability is the ability of separate blockchain networks or systems to exchange information or coordinate actions. The workshop begins with the core concepts and principles behind this problem before introducing projects associated with interoperability. Its event description calls it “a three hour online course to introduce the core concepts and principles of blockchain interoperability.” Hyperledger Foundation Community Events describes the course; the Linux Foundation webinar listing dates the recording to November 14, 2022. What does the Hyperledger Cacti workshop cover?
The advertised learning path moves from interoperability fundamentals to an overview of Hyperledger Weaver, YUI, FireFly, and Hyperledger Cacti. The Cacti portion covers its plugin architecture and API server, test development and execution with all-in-one container images, a Hello World example, and considerations about the project’s future. These are listed topics; the available event description does not establish the exact sequence or outcome of any specific demonstration.
The Linux Foundation identifies the speakers as Rafael Belchior, Senior Engineer for R&D at Blockdaemon, and Peter Somogyvari, Software Product Architect – Manager at Accenture and a maintainer of Hyperledger Cacti.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What is Hyperledger Cacti?
Hyperledger Cacti is presented in the workshop as a project for blockchain interoperability. The course’s advertised technical material includes plugins, an API server, tests, container images, and an example application. This makes the recording useful for understanding the topics its presenters intended to introduce, but it is not by itself a guide to the present state of Cacti or a substitute for version-specific developer documentation.
How do I prepare for the Hyperledger Cacti workshop?
The workshop page’s preparation notes were written for the 2022 event. They specify Ubuntu 20.04 LTS in a virtual machine or on bare metal and ask learners to install the project dependencies and development environment described in the developer guide.

- Set up the stated Ubuntu 20.04 LTS environment, either in a virtual machine or on bare metal.
- Follow the project developer guide’s instructions to install dependencies and configure the development environment, including
yarn run configure. - Run a test from any package, then continue through the guide up to the build-script decision-tree step; the event page says to exclude that step.
These are the event page’s historical instructions, not confirmed requirements for current Cacti versions. Check the developer guide for the version you intend to use before setting up an environment. Hyperledger Cacti developer guide and repository
Is the Hello World example suitable for production?
No. The package listing for the workshop’s associated examples describes a Hello World example that starts an API server and uses the Cacti IPFS object-store plugin. It also warns that the example code is not production-ready or secure. Use it as a learning sample, not as deployable software. Workshop example package listing

Where can I watch the workshop, and is there a newer session?
The 2022 workshop materials are a recording and slides, subject to their current availability on the official event and webinar pages. A separate Cacti workshop was recorded on November 12, 2025. Its Linux Foundation description focuses on Cacti’s then-current state, creating plugins and connectors, integrated architecture, and the Secure Asset Transfer Protocol (SATP). That later session is a distinct learning resource; its description does not verify what the 2022 workshop demonstrated or establish current implementation status.
