The Fisher & Paykel HP90IDCHX3 is a 90cm Series 7 integrated insert rangehood designed to sit behind kitchen cabinetry. Its published specifications list maximum airflow of 780 m³/hr, maximum sound of 65 dBA, four fan speeds and two dishwasher-safe filters. Whether it suits your kitchen depends chiefly on the cabinet opening and whether you can use its ducted or optional recirculating setup.

What kind of rangehood is the HP90IDCHX3?
It is a 90cm Series 7 integrated insert wall rangehood, intended to be concealed behind kitchen cabinetry rather than displayed as a conventional canopy. Fisher & Paykel describes the model as a unit that fits behind cabinetry and has a stainless-steel and glass finish. That makes it a candidate for kitchens where a built-in look matters, provided the cabinet and installation plan accommodate the appliance.

They are product specifications, not measurements taken from a sample. Check the market-specific installation guide and have the installer confirm the cabinet opening, clearances and duct route before purchase. A nominal 90cm appliance designation does not itself confirm that a particular cabinet will fit.

How much air does it move, and how loud is it?
Fisher & Paykel’s Quick Reference Guide, dated 10 September 2025, lists maximum air movement of 780 m³/hr and maximum sound of 65 dBA. It also lists four fan speeds. These are maximum manufacturer ratings: they do not tell you the airflow or noise at each speed, nor establish what the hood will achieve in a particular kitchen after installation. No independent hands-on noise or extraction measurement is established here.

For a meaningful assessment, ask the installer how the planned duct length, outlet and bends match the manufacturer’s installation requirements. A maximum airflow figure alone cannot show how a specific installed system will perform. The guide’s ratings are available in the official Quick Reference Guide.
Can the HP90IDCHX3 recirculate?
Yes. The guide lists ducted top extraction and optional top-extraction recirculation. In ducted operation, air is directed out through the chosen duct route; recirculation uses a carbon filter and returns air to the room. The carbon filter is separately listed as part 792481, and the guide says no recirculation diverter is required.

Choose the arrangement with your installer before buying accessories. The right ducting or filter depends on the installation and market, so confirm part compatibility rather than assuming every kit is included.

The model has two dishwasher-safe filters and a filter-cleaning alert, according to the manufacturer. That gives owners a defined cleaning reminder and filters that can be washed in a dishwasher. The carbon filter is relevant to recirculating use; confirm its replacement requirements and local availability for your setup, as the materials cited here do not establish replacement intervals or costs.

What should you know about price, warranty and owner ratings?
Price and stock should be checked with a local seller because the manufacturer directs buyers to regional retail channels and its pages are market-specific. Do not assume a price or package listed in one country applies elsewhere. The Hong Kong product page lists a two-year parts-and-labour warranty for that market; that should not be treated as the warranty for Australia or any other region. Check the warranty terms supplied for the country where you are buying.
There is not enough verified owner-review information here to characterize customer satisfaction: a displayed regional rating without an established review count and inspected review text is not a dependable basis for a model-wide verdict.
