The Australian HP OmniBook 7 Aero 13-bg1068AU is advertised with a Ryzen AI 7 processor, 32 GB of memory and a 1 TB SSD in a 13.3-inch laptop. Its appeal is clear: a travel-friendly size paired with a generous advertised configuration. The main caution is equally important: independent testing covers the OmniBook 7 Aero family, not a test unit confirmed as this exact Australian SKU, and HP’s current Australian specifications and warranty details should be checked before purchase.
What is the HP OmniBook 7 Aero 13-bg1068AU?
It is an Australian-listed 13.3-inch HP laptop marketed as a “Next Gen AI PC.” HP’s Australian listing search result advertises Windows 11 Home, an AMD Ryzen AI 7 processor, 32 GB LPDDR5x-7500 memory, a 1 TB SSD, a 2K display, Radeon 860M graphics, a 5MP IR camera and a backlit keyboard. The exact official Australia product page was not available for direct confirmation, so treat these as listing details and verify the 13-bg1068AU configuration on the seller’s live page before ordering. HP Australia
There is independent review evidence for the OmniBook 7 Aero family, but it does not establish that the tested unit was this Australian configuration. TechRadar’s February 2026 review is useful for understanding the family’s performance and design trade-offs, not as a guarantee of this SKU’s results. TechRadar’s review
What does the exact Australian SKU offer?
The available Australian listing information suggests a strong memory-and-storage combination for a compact laptop: 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Those figures are advertised for 13-bg1068AU, but HP’s detailed Australian specification page and local warranty terms still need direct confirmation. A search-result price of $3,597 is stale and should not be treated as the current Australian price.

- AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 (up to 5.0 GHz max boost clock, 16 MB L3 cache, 8 cores, 16 threads) - Integrated: AMD Radeon 860M Graphics
- Microsoft Copilot: Boost Your Creativity and Productivity with The Copilot Key
- 13.3" diagonal, 2K (1920 x 1200), IPS, micro-edge, anti-glare, 400 nits, 100% sRGB
- 16 GB LPDDR5x-7500 MT/s (onboard) - 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe Performance M.2 SSD
- 1 USB Type-A 10Gbps signaling rate, 1 USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate, 1 HDMI-out 2.1, 1 headphone/microphone combo, 2 USB Type-C 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery 3.1, DisplayPort 2.1, HP Sleep and Charge)
Do not infer the exact model’s weight, battery capacity, port layout or charger from a related regional configuration. HP’s Philippines page for model 13-bg1056AU lists a Ryzen AI 7 350, 16 GB onboard memory, 1 TB SSD, a 13.3-inch 2560 × 1600 IPS panel rated at 400 nits, a 43 Wh battery, weight under 1 kg and a 65 W USB-C adapter. Those are specifications for 13-bg1056AU, not proof of the Australian 13-bg1068AU’s specification. HP Philippines’ 13-bg1056AU specifications
The same Philippines model lists two USB-C 10 Gbps ports with USB Power Delivery 3.1 and DisplayPort 2.1, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1 and a headphone/microphone combo jack. Confirm the Australian SKU’s ports before relying on that connectivity. Regional differences are not theoretical: the Philippines page lists 16 GB of onboard memory, while the Australian listing advertises 32 GB.

How does the OmniBook 7 Aero perform?
In TechRadar’s family-level review, the Aero handled productivity tasks competently and its integrated graphics could support some gaming, though the reviewer did not consider it a substitute for a dedicated gaming laptop. The review reported Geekbench 6.5 scores of 2,825 single-core and 12,137 multi-core for its test unit. These are results from that reviewer’s configuration and methodology, not verified benchmarks for 13-bg1068AU.
The display in the review unit measured 0.29 Delta E and 112% sRGB coverage, which the reviewer viewed favorably for accuracy. Its 79% DCI-P3 coverage was less compelling for HDR-focused photo work. These measurements likewise apply to the tested unit, not necessarily every regional configuration.

What are the battery life and heat like?
TechRadar’s web-surfing battery benchmark ran for 8 hours 51 minutes (8:51:07) on its review unit. The reviewer described endurance as less impressive than some thin-and-light competitors. A benchmark is not a prediction of your everyday runtime: workload, screen settings, software and the exact configuration all matter.
Under heavy load, the reviewer reported audible fan activity and warmth, measuring up to 103.8°F (about 39.9°C) between the G and H keys. The review also reported recharging to about 50% in 30 minutes when the laptop was off. Neither the thermal observation nor the charging result is confirmed for the Australian 13-bg1068AU.

What are the keyboard, webcam and ports like?
The reviewer described the keyboard as usable but shallow, a relevant drawback if you type for long stretches and prefer deeper key travel. They praised the 5MP IR camera’s sharp image and noted its physical privacy shutter. HP’s Australian listing advertises a 5MP IR camera and backlit keyboard for 13-bg1068AU, but the hands-on impressions come from a family test unit.
TechRadar also praised the family’s useful port selection while noting that both USB-C ports were on the same side. The related Philippines model’s port list provides a plausible reference, not confirmation of the Australian SKU. Check the exact product specification or retailer photos if port placement and USB-C access matter to your setup.

Who should consider the HP OmniBook 7 Aero?
It may suit you if
- You want a compact laptop for commuting or travel and value the advertised 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD configuration.
- You make frequent video calls and value the advertised 5MP IR camera and privacy shutter.
- You need a thin-and-light computer for everyday productivity, with occasional light gaming rather than sustained graphics-heavy work.
Consider alternatives if
- Your priority is the longest possible unplugged runtime; the review’s battery result was respectable but not a standout among thin-and-light competitors.
- You prefer a keyboard with more travel or regularly run demanding workloads that keep fans and temperatures elevated.
- You need exact assurances about weight, battery size, ports, charging or warranty before buying. Confirm those details for 13-bg1068AU rather than borrowing them from another regional SKU.
What should you check before buying in Australia?
- Find a current Australian listing that identifies the model as 13-bg1068AU, not a similar Aero SKU.
- Confirm the processor, display resolution, memory, storage, weight, battery capacity, port configuration and charger against the listing’s detailed specification.
- Check the current local price, availability, returns policy and Australian warranty coverage; the old $3,597 search-result price is not a current quote.
- Use the TechRadar family review as a guide to potential strengths and trade-offs, not as a promise that the exact Australian unit will match its benchmark or battery figures.
