The HP EliteBook X Flip G2i 14 makes the strongest case for itself as a flexible business laptop, not as a single fixed specification. Notebookcheck’s reviewed Core Ultra 7 366H model with a 1800p OLED display was priced at approximately $3,000–$3,500 on its review page, while HP offers materially different processor, memory, and display configurations. Its convertible design, useful port selection, integrated pen garage, and a 15-hour-plus Wi-Fi test result are appealing; the price, warmth around the left palm rest, and pen ergonomics are meaningful qualifications.
Is the EliteBook X Flip G2i 14 worth its price?
It can be, if your work benefits from a premium 360-degree business convertible and you choose a configuration whose display and performance justify its cost. Notebookcheck praised the laptop’s professional-looking exterior, port variety, keyboard, audio, battery life, and configuration range. Its OLED review unit also offered a touchscreen with bright HDR support and a stylus garage built into the chassis.
The price needs to be read in context: Notebookcheck reported approximately $3,000–$3,500 for its Core Ultra 7 366H and 1800p OLED review configuration. That is a review-page retail snapshot, not a universal price for every EliteBook X Flip G2i 14. HP’s storefront lists other configurations, and prices and availability can change. Check the exact processor, panel, memory, storage, and included services on the live listing before comparing prices.
The review also identifies trade-offs that matter in daily use. Notebookcheck noted warmth around the left palm rest, imperfect Turbo Boost sustainability, and a stylus that may feel too small or narrow. Its matte-panel option was described as grainy. These observations do not establish that every configuration behaves identically, but they are reasons to weigh the exact display and intended workload rather than treating the model name as a complete specification.

Which configuration should you choose?
HP’s official specifications and store listings show that the product family spans substantially different configurations. HP’s support specifications list Intel Core Ultra X7 358H among processor options, onboard LPDDR5X memory from 16 GB through 64 GB, WUXGA LCD and 3K OLED display options, and a hinge that opens to 360 degrees. HP cautions that components depend on the configuration selected.
| Configuration or option | What is established | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Notebookcheck review unit | Core Ultra 7 366H, 1800p OLED; approximately $3,000–$3,500 as reported on the review page. | Current price and availability; this is not the price or specification of every SKU. |
| HP customizable US-store option | Core Ultra 5, 24 GB memory, 512 GB storage, WUXGA touchscreen. | Current price, processor’s exact SKU, panel finish, and included services. |
| Separate HP store listing | Core Ultra 7 356H, 32 GB memory, 1 TB storage, WUXGA touchscreen, and a three-year Wolf Pro Security license. | Current price, whether the license suits your needs, and whether the listing is the exact unit being considered. |
| Other listed options | HP’s specifications include processor choices up to the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, 16 GB to 64 GB onboard LPDDR5X, and WUXGA LCD or 3K OLED panels. | Which options can be combined in the specific region and live SKU; HP says component availability depends on configuration. |
For office work, browser-heavy multitasking, and video calls, a less expensive WUXGA configuration may be a more sensible fit than the high-end OLED review unit. If you prioritize OLED image quality or heavier workloads, compare the specific processor and panel options and decide whether the price premium is worthwhile. Do not assume the tested 366H/OLED model’s characteristics apply to a separate 356H/WUXGA listing.

Before buying, compare the following for the exact SKU:
- Processor: identify the full processor name, then match it to the applications and workload you expect to run.
- Display: confirm resolution, panel type, and finish. Notebookcheck’s graininess criticism applies to the matte-panel option it discusses, not automatically to the OLED model.
- Memory and storage: check the capacities listed for that configuration; HP describes the memory as onboard.
- Price and extras: check current price and any bundled security license or warranty service rather than assuming they are standard.
- Pen: confirm both whether one is included with the SKU and whether its size and feel work for you. The available product information does not establish pen-in-box contents across configurations.
What does the convertible design and port selection offer?
The Flip’s 360-degree hinge lets the screen fold back for convertible use, while Notebookcheck describes a redesigned all-metal chassis with flatter edges and corners. The reviewer also reports a weight reduction of almost 200 grams compared with the predecessor. Those are reviewer descriptions; the amount of flexibility that matters will depend on whether you regularly switch between laptop and tablet-style use.

Notebookcheck liked the variety of ports and the integrated stylus garage on the right edge. The garage gives the pen a place to stow, but it does not resolve the reviewer’s concern that the stylus can feel too small or narrow. Verify the ports and included accessories on the precise configuration before purchase, especially if your work depends on a particular connection or pen.
How long does the battery last?
Notebookcheck measured 15 hours 14 minutes in its Wi-Fi web-surfing battery test in 2026. This is a test result for the review unit under that test’s conditions, not a guaranteed runtime for every configuration or workload. Display choice, processor, brightness, applications, and usage can all make a real working day differ from a web-browsing test.

What are the main drawbacks?
- High-end price: the approximately $3,000–$3,500 figure belongs to Notebookcheck’s Core Ultra 7 366H/1800p OLED review configuration and review-page retail context.
- Heat and sustained performance: Notebookcheck listed warmth around the left palm rest and imperfect Turbo Boost sustainability among its cons.
- Pen comfort: the reviewer found the stylus may be too small or narrow for some users; try it if handwriting or drawing is central to your workflow.
- Matte-screen appearance: Notebookcheck called the matte panel grainy. Compare the actual panel option you are buying rather than applying this point to the OLED configuration.
Verdict
The EliteBook X Flip G2i 14 is an appealing premium business convertible when its particular display, port selection, and flexible form factor fit your work. The reviewed OLED configuration is costly, and the review’s thermal and stylus caveats make configuration choice especially important. Compare the exact SKU and live price rather than buying on the family name alone.
