Vouched’s approach to AI-agent trust centers on three questions: which agent is acting, who authorized it, and what it is allowed to do. Its products and standards work address agent detection, identity, and permissioning, but the available public material is largely Vouched’s own description—not independent proof of performance, adoption, or interoperability.
What does Vouched mean by trust for AI agents?
When an AI agent takes an action for a person or organization, a business needs more than a signal that the interaction is automated. It needs to establish the agent’s identity, connect the agent to the person or organization that delegated authority, and determine whether the requested action falls within that authority.
The International Telecommunication Union discusses identity systems as a way to identify agents, establish whom they act on behalf of, and verify authorization or delegation. That provides context for the problem; it does not endorse Vouched or establish that Vouched’s approach has been adopted or conforms to an international standard. ITU, AI Standards for Global Impact: From Governance to Action (2025).
What does Vouched offer?
Vouched describes itself as a digital identity verification company serving people and AI agents. Its website presents Agent Checkpoint products for detecting agentic sessions and governing agent interactions, Knowthat.ai for agent discovery, and KYA-OS as an approach to agent identity and permissioning. It also offers identity verification services for sectors including healthcare and financial services. These descriptions are Vouched’s own; the available sources do not independently test the products’ effectiveness. Vouched’s website.
#1 Best Overall
Vouched and the Decentralized Identity Foundation announced KYA-OS as an open trust layer for AI agents. The announcement frames the need in terms of identifying the acting agent, the party that authorized it, and the actions it may take. Vouched also reported nearly 10,000 unique visitors to protocol resources since the donation; that is a figure in the announcement, not an independent usage study. How to assess an AI-agent trust system
For a business evaluating Vouched or another agent-identity service, separate the functions that are often grouped under “trust.” The following are evaluation questions, not verified performance findings about Vouched.
Rank #2
Detection and identity
- Does the system detect agent traffic, verify an agent’s identity, or do both?
- What evidence supports its accuracy, coverage, and false-positive rates in the environments you use?
Delegation and permissions
- How does it establish which person or organization delegated authority to the agent?
- Can permissions be limited to specific actions, recorded, and revoked?
Integration and evidence
- Does the service or protocol interoperate with your existing identity, authentication, and agent infrastructure?
- Are results independently evaluated, and are the measurement methods and conditions available?
- What user friction does verification introduce, and how is it measured?
What is established—and what remains unproven?
Vouched’s website displays figures of 99% verification accuracy, 97% verified on first attempt, 95% user conversion, 20+ proprietary advanced fraud models, 98% global coverage for physical IDs, and digital IDs available in 37 countries. These are Vouched’s published claims on an undated company website; the page does not provide accompanying methodology or independent validation. They should not be treated as independently measured results or as proof of agent-specific performance. Vouched’s website.

The available material does not establish KYA-OS as an adopted international standard, demonstrate independent conformance, or show broad interoperability or production deployment across vendors.
