Open the official Squadron 42 Steam listing, sign in, and select Add to your wishlist. The same page contains the current system-requirements panel. Steam marks the game as not yet available and currently shows Q2 2027 as its planned release window, so treat that date as a plan rather than a guarantee.
Use the correct Steam listing
The product page you need is the official Steam entry for Squadron 42, app ID 4045720: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4045720/Squadron_42/. Checking the app ID in the address is a useful safeguard against similarly named pages, search results, or community content.
Steam’s listing currently says the game is not available. It displays Q2 2027 as the planned release period and offers wishlisting so users can be notified when the game becomes available. Availability, release planning, and the contents of the requirements panel can change, so use the live page when you make a purchase or upgrade decision.
How to add Squadron 42 to your Steam wishlist
1. Open the product page
In a browser, go directly to the official URL above or search Steam for Squadron 42 and verify that the resulting page is app 4045720. The product page is the place where the wishlist control and requirements are displayed together.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
2. Sign in to Steam
If Steam asks you to log in, complete the sign-in before attempting to save the item. A wishlist is tied to your Steam account, so an anonymous page view cannot reliably associate the game with your list.
3. Select Add to your wishlist
On the product page, choose the button labeled Add to your wishlist. The control may change state after Steam accepts the action. If you are unsure whether it worked, open your account’s wishlist and look for Squadron 42 rather than clicking repeatedly.
4. Keep notifications in mind
The listing describes wishlisting as a way to get notified when the game becomes available. Steam does not state on this page exactly which notification channel or timing will be used, so keep your Steam account’s notification settings current if you want those alerts.
5. Recheck the page closer to release
Wishlisting does not make the game available early and does not lock in a price, hardware requirement, or release date. Return to the product page when Steam changes the status or when the planned Q2 2027 window approaches. The live listing is the authority for the current availability state.
Where to find the requirements
On the same Steam page, scroll to the System Requirements section. Steam separates the information into Minimum and Recommended. Read the labels carefully: the minimum column is the only complete hardware profile currently shown. The recommended column currently contains only a 64-bit processor and operating-system note.

| Category | Minimum shown by Steam | Recommended shown by Steam |
|---|---|---|
| Processor and architecture | 64-bit processor; quad-core CPU; Intel i7 (Sandy Bridge or later) or AMD Bulldozer or later | 64-bit processor and operating system; no specific CPU model or core count stated |
| Operating system | Windows 11 | 64-bit operating system; no specific Windows edition stated beyond the 64-bit note |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | Not stated by the Steam listing |
| Graphics card | DirectX 11.1-compatible graphics card with 8 GB VRAM | Not stated by the Steam listing |
| DirectX | DirectX 12 | Not stated by the Steam listing |
| Internet | Broadband internet | Not stated by the Steam listing |
| Storage | 150 GB available space | Not stated by the Steam listing |
“Not stated” is intentional. Steam has not supplied a recommended GPU, CPU, RAM amount, storage amount, or internet specification in the section currently displayed. Do not substitute a guess or copy a recommended profile from another game.
How to compare your Windows PC with the minimum list
Check the Windows edition and 64-bit status
- Open Settings and choose System, then About.
- Under the Windows specifications area, note the edition and version. The minimum entry names Windows 11, so a computer running an earlier Windows release does not match that stated operating-system requirement.
- In Device specifications, inspect System type. It should identify a 64-bit operating system and a 64-bit-based processor. The listing requires both a 64-bit processor and operating system.
A 64-bit Windows installation alone does not prove that every other requirement is met. Record this result separately from the CPU model, memory, graphics, and storage checks.
Identify the processor and core count
- In Settings > System > About, read the processor name.
- For a more detailed view, open Task Manager with Ctrl+Shift+Esc, select Performance, and choose CPU. Windows shows the model and the number of cores.
- Compare the model family and generation with Steam’s wording: a quad-core CPU, Intel i7 from the Sandy Bridge generation or later, or AMD Bulldozer or later. Do not treat the brand name alone as proof; the generation and core count matter.
Steam does not provide a clock-speed target, a thread-count target, or a modern processor family beyond those descriptions. If your processor falls outside the wording, the listing does not establish how the game will perform or which replacement would be appropriate.
Measure installed RAM
- Open Settings > System > About and read Installed RAM, or open Task Manager > Performance > Memory.
- Compare the installed total with the minimum entry of 16 GB RAM. Use the installed capacity, not the amount currently free in Task Manager.
The page does not state a recommended memory amount. Meeting the minimum figure therefore tells you only that your capacity matches the published minimum; it does not predict a preferred quality preset or frame rate.
Verify the graphics card and its VRAM
- Open Task Manager > Performance > GPU to see the active graphics adapter and its dedicated memory. If more than one GPU is listed, record each one and determine which adapter your games normally use.
- For another view, press Win+R, enter
dxdiag, and press Enter. The Display tab identifies the adapter and reports display-memory information. - Confirm that the card has at least 8 GB of VRAM and supports DirectX 11.1. The Steam entry does not name a particular graphics-card model, so model-specific compatibility must be checked against the card manufacturer’s specifications.
VRAM is graphics memory, not the computer’s system RAM. A machine with 16 GB of RAM but a card with less than 8 GB of VRAM still falls short of the two separate minimum entries. Conversely, an 8 GB VRAM figure does not by itself prove that the card’s architecture, driver, or overall performance is suitable.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.

Check DirectX information
- Run
dxdiagas described above. - On the System tab, read the installed DirectX version.
- On the graphics adapter’s Display tab, inspect the listed feature levels or compatibility information for support for DirectX 11.1.
Steam lists both a DirectX 11.1-compatible graphics card and DirectX 12. Treat these as separate checks: the card must provide the stated compatibility, while the operating environment must provide the DirectX 12 component named in the requirements. The listing does not explain whether an additional runtime download will be needed.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Confirm free storage
- Open File Explorer and select This PC.
- Find the drive where you expect to install the game and read the available-space figure.
- Compare that free space with the 150 GB minimum shown on Steam. Check the correct drive rather than adding the capacities of unrelated drives.
“Available storage” means free space at the time of installation, not the drive’s total capacity. Steam does not state an additional update buffer or a separate recommended-storage figure. Leave practical headroom for Windows, Steam, and future file changes, but do not represent an unlisted amount as an official requirement.
Check the internet requirement
The minimum section says broadband internet. It does not publish a download speed, latency target, data allowance, or statement about continuous online play. Compare your connection with that broad requirement, and avoid turning the absence of a numeric speed into a made-up threshold. A metered connection should also be considered because a large installation can consume substantial data, but Steam’s page does not quantify the download.
A practical comparison worksheet
Write your own values beside the Steam entries instead of relying on a single “can it run?” label. This exposes exactly which item needs attention.
| Check | Your value to record | How to decide |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system and architecture | Windows edition plus 64-bit status | Windows 11 and 64-bit operation match the stated minimum; anything else is outside it. |
| CPU | Model, family/generation, and physical core count | Compare with the quad-core Intel i7 Sandy Bridge-or-later or AMD Bulldozer-or-later wording. |
| System RAM | Installed capacity in GB | Compare the installed total with 16 GB. |
| GPU | Adapter model and dedicated VRAM | Look for at least 8 GB VRAM and DirectX 11.1 compatibility. |
| DirectX | Version and feature levels from DxDiag | Check the DirectX 12 entry and the graphics compatibility separately. |
| Storage | Free space on the intended install drive | Compare that drive’s available space with 150 GB. |
| Internet | Connection type and any data cap | Steam names broadband but gives no numeric speed or data target. |
This worksheet is a comparison with the publisher’s posted minimums, not a performance test. The listing does not promise a frame rate, resolution, graphical preset, loading time, or stability level for a computer that meets them.

What the incomplete recommended section means
The recommended area currently says only that a 64-bit processor and operating system are required. It does not identify a recommended Intel or AMD CPU, core count, RAM capacity, graphics card, VRAM amount, DirectX target, internet speed, or storage total.
That omission has two practical consequences:
- You can make a direct comparison against the published minimum profile, but you cannot make an equally precise “recommended” comparison from this page.
- You should not buy a named graphics card or processor on the assumption that it is officially recommended. Steam has not published such a model in this section.
If your current GPU is below the stated VRAM minimum, first identify the exact adapter and its dedicated-memory specification. Only then should you investigate a replacement, and any purchase decision should be conditional on your case, power supply, display target, and budget. The Steam listing itself names no upgrade model.

The page does not show the wishlist control
Confirm that you are on app 4045720 and sign in when Steam requests it. Reload the official listing and look for the exact Add to your wishlist label. If the account already contains the game, the control may appear in a changed state; check the wishlist itself before trying again.
You cannot find the requirements
Scroll farther down the product page to System Requirements. The requirements are part of the store listing, not a separate download or hardware-check utility. Read both columns, because the recommended side is intentionally sparse at present.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Your computer meets the minimum but you want a performance guarantee
The minimum list does not provide a guaranteed frame rate or quality setting. Treat it as the threshold Steam has published, not as a promise of a particular experience. There is no complete recommended profile on the page to use for a stronger guarantee.

Your graphics card has 8 GB of system-shared memory but less dedicated VRAM
Check the dedicated-memory value for the adapter rather than a combined memory figure. The requirement specifically calls for a graphics card with 8 GB of VRAM, so shared system memory should not automatically be counted as equivalent.
Your drive has exactly the listed amount free
Installation may compete with Windows, Steam, temporary files, and later changes. Steam states 150 GB available space as the minimum, but does not publish an extra buffer. Free additional space before installation rather than assuming the boundary will remain unchanged.
Release timing and when to recheck
As displayed on the Steam listing checked on October 13, 2026, Squadron 42 is not yet available and has a planned release of Q2 2027. “Planned” is not a guaranteed launch date. The status, release window, wishlist behavior, and system requirements can be revised before launch.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
For that reason, use the wishlist now for Steam’s availability notification, then revisit the product page before installing or purchasing. Recheck the minimum and recommended columns at that time; a later listing may add a complete recommended hardware profile or change existing figures.
Quick Recap
