There is no documented, platform-wide badge or lock icon that proves a Truth Social post is subscriber-only. To check a specific post, read any access wording, determine whether it belongs to a restricted group, review the account owner’s explanation, and ask the owner or Truth Social Support when the distinction matters. Treat a preview, subscription prompt, or failed opening as a clue—not conclusive proof of a universal Truth Social rule.
Truth Social calls a post a “Truth.” Its Help Center defines one as content that can be a comment, image, video, or link, but that definition does not specify paid access. The practical task is therefore to identify which kind of restriction, if any, applies to the particular post.
What Truth Social officially defines—and what it does not
The official Common Terminology page explains that a “Truth” is content shared to followers. It does not establish a subscriber-only post type, a required lock symbol, or a standard banner that appears whenever payment is required.
That distinction matters because a post can be unavailable for several unrelated reasons. It may be an ordinary public Truth, content inside a private group, or part of a paid early-access arrangement described by an account owner or an outside report. The same screen symptom—such as seeing only a preview—does not identify which explanation is correct.
Truth Social also uses “subscribing” in its terminology to mean following an account so its posts appear in a Home Feed. That is different from paying for access to a creator’s posts. Do not interpret the word “subscribe” as proof of a paid tier without an explicit explanation.

The safest conclusion is therefore post-specific. You can describe what the account, group, or interface says about one Truth without claiming that every account uses the same access model. Interface wording can change, and an arrangement reported for one account may not apply elsewhere.
Compare the possible access arrangements

The table separates documented platform behavior from account-specific monetization. If no source clearly identifies the arrangement, report the uncertainty instead of assigning a status based on appearance alone.
“Public” and “subscriber-only” are not always opposites in everyday conversation. An account might publish a public excerpt while reserving early access, additional material, or a full version for a defined audience. Verify what the notice actually promises: viewing the whole post, viewing it before others, commenting, or receiving a related benefit.
Step-by-step: check a specific Truth

Open the post and read every access message
Look at the text around the post, not just the media preview. Wording such as “subscribers only,” “join to view,” or “available to members” is evidence about that post. Record the exact wording and the post URL or a screenshot. It is a signal for the item you are viewing, not proof that Truth Social uses the same label everywhere.
Also note whether the message refers to payment, approval, membership, following, or an account. Those terms imply different conditions. A request to follow an account is not the same as a request to pay, and a request to join a group is not necessarily commercial.

Check whether the post is associated with a group
Determine whether the Truth appears in a group rather than only on an account timeline. Truth Social documents three group types: Public, Public (Approval Required), and Private. For a private group, only approved members can view and interact with its content, and the group is omitted from search and Explore. That is a membership restriction, even when no payment is involved.

Read the account’s own explanation
Visit the account page and look for a pinned Truth, profile notice, or announcement explaining early access, a paid tier, or eligibility. Use the owner’s stated terms rather than guessing from a badge or from the fact that some users can see the post.
Check the date and scope of the announcement. It may apply only to posts marked in a certain way, to an early-access period, or to a particular campaign. Save the wording with the post link because an account can later change or remove an explanation.

Separate following from paying
If the interface says “subscribe,” verify what the surrounding text means. Truth Social’s terminology uses subscribing for following an account. A follow relationship can place posts in a Home Feed and does not, by itself, demonstrate that money changes who can read a particular Truth.

Check the Truth+ documentation separately
Truth Social’s Truth+ Patriot Package is documented as a paid service with premium features. The Help Center material does not state that this package generally unlocks individual subscriber-only Truths. Do not treat a Truth+ reference as confirmation that the post you are checking requires payment.
Do not assume that a person who subscribes to Truth+ has automatically paid an individual creator, joined a private group, or obtained early access to every post. Those are separate relationships unless the account or an official notice expressly connects them.

Ask for confirmation when the status affects a decision
If the post’s access terms are unclear, ask the account owner which users are entitled to view it. For account-management or platform questions, use the Support guidance on Truth Social’s Contact Information page. Support confirmation is more reliable than inferring a rule from one screen.

Document what you actually observed
For a moderation report, news item, or dispute, keep separate notes for the visible message, your membership status, the group type, and any statement from the owner or Support. This prevents an unverified assumption from becoming a claim that the entire platform has a subscriber-only feature.
A simple log can include: post URL; account; date and time; logged-in or logged-out state; group name and type; exact access text; whether media loaded; account announcement; and any Support case number. If the post later changes, your time-stamped record shows what you actually observed.
How to interpret common clues
A subscription prompt appears
A prompt requesting a subscription is meaningful evidence that the account is presenting some access condition. It does not tell you whether the condition is paid, whether it applies to the whole account, or whether the prompt is a temporary experiment. Confirm the terms in the account’s own announcement or with Support.

Capture the complete prompt, including any button text and nearby explanation. A button labeled “subscribe” might mean follow, while “join,” “upgrade,” or a payment amount could indicate a different arrangement. Do not rely on the button label alone.
You see a lock icon or a blurred preview
The available official material does not establish a universal lock icon or preview design for subscriber-only Truths. Treat the visual treatment as an interface clue. Capture it, read the adjacent wording, and avoid calling it definitive unless current first-party documentation identifies that marker.
Images can also appear blurred because they have not loaded, because of a connection problem, or because a viewer setting affects media. A lock graphic without an explanation is therefore insufficient evidence of payment.
The post will not open while you are logged out
Failure to open while logged out does not isolate the cause. The post could require an account, belong to a private group, be limited by another visibility setting, or be unavailable for a temporary technical reason. Logging in may help you inspect the account and group context, but it does not prove that payment is required.

Likewise, opening a post while logged in proves only that your current account has access. It does not show that every logged-in user, follower, or non-paying user can open it. Note the account state and permissions when you test.
A repost or quoted excerpt is visible
Seeing an excerpt elsewhere does not establish that the original full Truth is public. A repost can contain text or media copied from a restricted item. Verify the original post’s access message and location rather than using the repost as a visibility test.
If the original link redirects, is deleted, or shows a different message, report that fact separately. Do not treat a cached excerpt as proof that the original remains available.
A Truth+ badge appears on the account
The documented Patriot Package is a paid subscription service, but the reviewed Help Center description does not say that its badge unlocks individual posts. A badge can identify a service or account feature without answering whether this particular Truth is available to non-paying readers.

The account says “exclusive” or “early”
“Exclusive” may describe content intended for a defined audience, while “early” may describe timing rather than permanent exclusion. Ask who receives the content, when wider access begins, and whether the terms mention payment or approval. A temporary early window is not automatically the same as a permanent subscriber-only post.
Private groups are a separate kind of restriction
Truth Social’s group model is the clearest officially documented way for membership to limit visibility. The Help Center lists Public, Public (Approval Required), and Private groups. The private-group rule is explicit: only approved members can view and interact with content, and the group is not listed in search or Explore.
That means a person can reasonably describe a post as “members-only” without describing it as “subscriber-only.” Membership may be granted by approval rather than payment. If you cannot find the group in search or Explore and the account identifies the post as part of a private group, group membership is the documented explanation to report.

The name “Public (Approval Required)” should not be treated as equivalent to Private. The Help Center identifies it as a separate group type; determine the group’s actual visibility and approval behavior from the group page and the owner’s instructions.
Group access and paid access can theoretically coexist, but the available Help Center descriptions do not establish a standard way they are combined. If an owner asks for payment before approving a group request, describe that as the owner’s stated condition and seek clarification rather than attributing it to a universal Truth Social rule.
What is known about paid early access

This is evidence that a paid-access arrangement has been reported for some posts. It does not establish a general subscriber-only feature available to every Truth Social account, and the report does not document the exact notice ordinary viewers see. When citing this example, attribute it to AP and identify it as an arrangement involving some posts rather than a platform-wide verification method.

Cost and payment questions
Truth Social says account creation is free. That fact does not mean every feature or access arrangement is free, nor does it identify a price for any creator-level access. If a screen requests payment, verify the payer, recipient, stated benefit, renewal terms, and cancellation information before entering details. A practical decision tree
Use the following sequence when you need a defensible answer quickly:

- Is the Truth inside a group? If yes, record the group type. A Private group has the documented approved-member restriction.
- Does the account explain a paid tier? If yes, save the announcement and its terms. If not, do not infer payment from a badge, preview, or failed opening.
- Does “subscribe” merely mean follow? Check the surrounding language before labeling it a paid subscription.
- Is the answer still uncertain? Ask the account owner or contact Truth Social Support, then report the observation and the confirmation separately.
For a quick classification, use three labels: public under observed settings, restricted to approved group members, or paid access described but not independently verified. Add unconfirmed when none fits. These labels communicate the strength of your evidence without pretending to know more than the interface or account statement shows.
How to report the status accurately
Use precise wording that matches your evidence. “The post displayed a message saying access was for subscribers” reports what you saw. “The account owner said paid members receive early access” reports a source’s explanation. “Truth Social requires payment to view this post” is a broader platform claim and should not be made unless an authoritative source establishes it.
Include the date you checked, whether you were logged in, the group context, and the exact access text. Interface labels can change, and a single account’s arrangement may not apply to other creators. If you cite the AP example, state that AP reported early, exclusive access for some Trump posts and that the report did not provide a universal visual verification rule.
When publishing a screenshot, remove private messages, payment details, email addresses, or account identifiers that are not needed. Preserve the original URL and timestamp privately so another reviewer can distinguish a deleted post from a post that was never public.

- Calling every inaccessible post subscriber-only. A private group, approval requirement, login requirement, deletion, or temporary error can produce a similar result.
- Treating “subscribe” as a payment term. Truth Social uses the word for following an account.
- Assuming Truth+ unlocks creator posts. The Patriot Package documentation does not make that general promise.
- Using one account’s experience as a platform rule. Report the account-specific terms and identify any outside report by name and date.
- Relying on a lock icon alone. No universal official marker is documented in the cited Help Center material.
- Testing only while logged out. Logged-out failure does not distinguish payment from account, group, or technical restrictions.
- Confusing a repost with the original. Copied text or media can circulate even when the source Truth is restricted.
When to contact Truth Social Support
Contact Support when an access message conflicts with the account owner’s explanation, a private-group status is unclear, payment appears to have been taken without access, or you need an official answer for an account-management issue. Truth Social’s Contact Information page is the appropriate starting point.
Provide the post link, account name, group name if applicable, screenshots of the message, and the steps that produced the error. Do not send payment details publicly. Support may be able to clarify an account-specific condition even though the public Help Center does not define a universal subscriber-only badge.

Keep expectations realistic. Support may explain account access or direct you to the relevant policy, but a response about one account should not automatically be generalized to every Truth. If you need a public statement, ask whether the answer applies platform-wide or only to the account and post you reported.

You may compare what is displayed, but the result is only an observation. A private window may be logged out, lack group membership, or encounter a temporary error. It cannot establish that payment is the cause.
Bottom line for a particular post
Classify the post only as far as the evidence allows: public under the observed settings, restricted to approved members of a documented private group, or described by the account or a reliable report as part of a paid arrangement. If none of those is clearly established, say that the post’s access status is unconfirmed. That is more accurate than treating a lock icon, preview, login failure, or Truth+ reference as a definitive platform rule.
