A Synaptic Vessel permanently improves the amount of health restored by each Mether’s Pulse charge when you spend it at a Beacon. It does not give you more charges: a Revered Gland increases charge capacity instead. Choose a Vessel if your heals are too weak; choose a Gland if you run out of charges before reaching a Beacon.
What a Synaptic Vessel does
The Mortal Shell II Database describes the item as something you “Consume at Beacons to improve your Mether’s Pulse efficiency.” Nerd’s Chalk clarifies that the upgrade raises the health restored by each Mether’s Pulse charge. How to use a Synaptic Vessel
Carrying a Vessel does not apply its effect. Spend it at a Beacon through Mether’s Pulse:
- Find and interact with a Beacon.
- Open Mether’s Pulse.
- Select “Improve Efficiency.”
- Spend a Synaptic Vessel to apply the upgrade.

These upgrades address different limits on healing. A Vessel improves the strength of each Mether’s Pulse heal; a Revered Gland increases the number of charges you can carry. Use your run between Beacons to identify the problem:

- You reach a Beacon with charges left, but each heal restores too little: prioritize a Synaptic Vessel.
- You use every charge before reaching the next Beacon: a Revered Gland addresses the immediate shortage by increasing capacity.
This is a practical way to choose based on how you play, not a controlled comparison of builds. Nerd’s Chalk suggests using available Vessels before difficult bosses or unfamiliar areas, but that is guidance rather than a universal rule. Nerd’s Chalk

Gamer Guides’ checklist offers further landmark clues: a Vessel inside a statue reached by crossing bridges over bookshelves after using a jump pad; one in front of a trial; one in a skeletal pillar northeast of Revenant Graves; one on a courtyard chalice; and one in a secret room reached after drinking an elixir and interacting with an altar. PowerPyx says missed healing upgrades can still be collected in free roam after the final boss and before entering New Game+. This is a walkthrough claim, not a detail confirmed here by official developer documentation. PowerPyx
