On a Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet that offers the feature, connect the device to a charger, then open Settings > Display > Screensaver. Choose an available photo option—such as Photo Frame, Photo Table, or Photos—and select an album when prompted. Samsung says the screen saver appears while the device is charging. Other Android phones may use different menus or may not offer a photo screen saver at all.
Set up a photo screen saver on a Samsung Galaxy
Samsung’s current support instructions describe this setup for Galaxy devices that have the Screensaver setting. The listed choices include Photo Frame, Photo Table, and Photos; the options available on your device can vary.
- Connect your phone or tablet to a charger. Samsung says its described screen saver appears while the device is charging.
- Open Settings > Display > Screensaver.
- Choose one of the photo options shown on your device.
- If prompted, select the album you want the screen saver to use.
- Leave the device connected to the charger and allow the screen to turn off. The screen saver should appear if the feature is available and configured.
Samsung Gulf support, updated June 24, 2026, lists Galaxy S24, S25, S26, Z Fold, Z Flip, and A series devices in its supported-device section. That list does not establish availability on every model or software version in those families, so check the setting on the specific device.
Choose a photo presentation
The name of a photo option does not guarantee the same layout across Galaxy generations. Samsung’s current setup guidance names Photo Frame, Photo Table, and Photos as choices, but the detailed layout descriptions below come from the Galaxy S9+ manual and should be treated as model-specific examples.

If your phone offers several styles, select one and use the device’s own screen-saver settings or preview, if available, to check the result. The current Samsung instructions do not describe a preview procedure, and the S9+ manual’s layout descriptions should not be assumed to apply to newer models.
What to do if Screensaver or a photo option is missing
Screen-saver availability and menu labels depend on the manufacturer, model, and software. A missing setting does not necessarily mean that Android has the same option under a different universal menu; the available evidence does not establish a common path for non-Samsung phones.

- Check the exact model’s manufacturer support information for a screen-saver feature and its setup path.
- If Screensaver is present but a particular photo style is not, choose only from the options shown on that device.
- Do not rely on Google’s Pixel Phone Help instructions as a universal Android path. They explain setup on Pixel phones, not availability or menu labels on other manufacturers’ devices.
Samsung Gulf support lists Galaxy S24, S25, S26, Z Fold, Z Flip, and A series devices, but individual model and software differences still matter. Confirm the exact device rather than treating a family name as a guarantee.

Screen saver versus lock-screen wallpaper
A screen saver and a wallpaper change different parts of the experience. Samsung describes its photo screen saver as appearing when the device is charging and the screen turns off. Setting a photo as a lock-screen wallpaper instead changes the background shown on the lock screen; it is not the same charging-triggered screen saver.

Samsung’s wallpaper instructions cover setting a Gallery image or video as a Lock screen wallpaper on devices running One UI 6. Use that option if your goal is a photo on the lock screen rather than a display that starts as the screen turns off during charging.

The steps above apply only where the device exposes a compatible screen-saver setting. Samsung’s current instructions provide a Galaxy path and say the feature appears while charging; the older Galaxy S9+ manual provides examples of two layouts. Google’s separate instructions concern Pixel phones. Taken together, those sources do not establish that every non-Pixel Android device supports photo screen savers, uses the same trigger, or has the same choices.

No extra app or accessory is required by the Samsung setup instructions: they use the phone’s settings and selected photo album. If the option is absent, device-specific support is the reliable next check rather than assuming a Pixel menu or wallpaper setting will substitute.
