The Beats Solo 4’s power button is on the right ear cup. On the left ear cup, the “b” button controls music, calls, microphone mute and Siri, while the buttons above and below it adjust volume. Here’s what each control does and how to use it.
Where the Beats Solo 4 buttons are
Apple’s Beats Solo 4 user guide shows the power button on the right ear cup. The “b” button and volume controls are on the left ear cup: volume up is above “b,” and volume down is below it.
Turn the headphones on or off
Press and hold the power button on the right ear cup for one second to turn the Solo 4 on or off.

| Play or pause | Press “b” once. |
| Skip to the next track | Press “b” twice. |
| Go to the previous track | Press “b” three times. |
| Fast-forward | Press “b” twice, holding it on the second press. |

| Raise or lower volume | Press the volume-up button above “b” or the volume-down button below it. Hold either button to keep changing the volume. |
Answer calls and mute the microphone

| Mute or unmute during a call | Press “b” to mute the microphone; press it again to unmute. |
| Answer a second call or switch calls | Press “b” to answer a second incoming call and put the first on hold, or to switch between two active calls. |
These controls explain how to mute and unmute; they do not establish how well the microphone picks up your voice. Use Siri
After setting up Siri, say “Hey Siri” or press and hold the left-ear-cup “b” button. Speak after the chime. Siri is not available in every region or language.
Listen over USB-C or 3.5 mm
Apple says the Solo 4 supports lossless audio through USB-C or a 3.5 mm audio cable when connected to a supported device and lossless audio is enabled at the source. USB-C playback charges the headphones. With a 3.5 mm cable, you can listen without battery power. The headphones turn off automatically when the USB-C cable is disconnected.
