In the LY* Roblox experience Anime Zero, effective combat comes from rotating two weapon kits, filling cooldown gaps with basic attacks, and moving before a telegraphed hit lands. Equip two weapons, learn the first three skills on each, swap with T on PC when the other kit is ready, and use Q to leave danger. The exact balance and key mapping are community-reported and can change, so confirm the controls shown in your current lobby.
This guide is for LY*’s anime-themed dungeon action RPG. Roblox also has another experience named Anime Zero, described by community listings as a tower-defense game from Zero Studio Official. Check the developer and lobby interface before following these instructions.
Confirm you are in the right Anime Zero
The name “Anime Zero” is not unique on Roblox. The combat system described here belongs to the LY* experience: a stage-and-wave dungeon RPG in which you control a character directly, equip weapons and fight bosses. If your lobby presents tower-defense placement rather than a controllable fighter, you are in a different game and these controls will not apply.
Community guides are the available evidence for the mechanics below, not official technical documentation. A skill guide was updated on October 5, 2026, and a controls guide says it was checked on October 11, 2026. Patches can alter keys, damage, cooldowns, bonuses and unlock requirements.

Build a two-weapon loadout before entering a run
The beginner guide describes each run as using two equipped weapons. Treat the pair as one combat kit: your first weapon handles the opening exchange, while the second supplies a fresh set of abilities during recovery.
Read both skill bars
Before you queue for a stage, identify the purpose of every skill on both weapons:
- Which ability reaches a group or covers an area?
- Which skill is safer to use at close range?
- Which cooldown is long enough that you should save it for an elite or boss?
- Which weapon lets you keep attacking while the other weapon’s abilities recharge?
Do not enter solely because a weapon has a high displayed damage value. A pair with overlapping long cooldowns can leave you with no useful action after one burst, while complementary ranges and cooldowns give you options throughout a wave.

Plan a simple opening
Decide which weapon starts the run and what event triggers a swap. A practical rule is to open with the kit that can safely group or soften enemies, use ordinary attacks while its skills recover, then change to the second kit when it offers a better area attack, safer range or ready damage window. This is a decision framework, not a universal ranking; the guides do not establish one permanently best weapon combination.

Use a repeatable combat loop
1. Start with ordinary attacks
Use M1 to begin the normal attack chain and establish your position. Basic attacks are not filler: they let you continue dealing damage while skills recover and reduce the temptation to spend every ability immediately. Keep enough distance to see an enemy’s wind-up when possible.
2. Group enemies before an area skill
Wide-area abilities become more valuable when several targets are inside the hit zone. Let a pack approach or use the room’s geometry to collect enemies, then cast the area skill once it can strike multiple targets. Against a single boss, the same ability may be better saved for a safe opening rather than fired on cooldown.
3. Spend skills according to the threat
Use a short, repeatable priority:
- Move to a position where the cast will not put you in a telegraphed attack.
- Use the area or control skill when enemies are grouped.
- Use a single-target or high-impact skill on an elite or boss during a clear opening.
- Return to M1 while the important abilities recharge.
The guides do not provide a universal rotation for every weapon. Your goal is to avoid a dead period in which both weapons are unavailable and you are forced to trade hits.
4. Swap to refresh your options
Press T when the other weapon has the more useful ready skill or when the current kit is waiting on cooldowns. Swapping exposes a second set of abilities without requiring you to stand idle. The beginner guide reports a +20% damage bonus for the incoming weapon lasting four seconds after a swap; that figure is a guide-specific, volatile balance detail, so verify that the bonus still appears in your current game before building a rotation around it.

A swap is not automatically correct. If the incoming weapon has only long-range skills but you are trapped against a wall, or if its abilities are also cooling down, keep attacking and reposition first. Use the second kit because it solves the next problem, not simply because the key is available.

5. Handle bosses patiently
Bosses punish the habit of pressing every large cooldown as soon as it lights up. Watch the wind-up, identify when the boss is committed to an attack, dash to safety if needed, and then spend the strongest available skill. Keep one movement option available rather than locking yourself into a cast with no escape.
Stay alive: movement, blocking and room geometry
Dash out of readable attacks
The guides list Q as the PC dash and recommend using it against telegraphed attacks. Look for a wind-up, red zone or other readable cue, then leave the threatened space before the hit lands. Do not wait until your health is already falling. The beginner guide also says a skill animation cannot be cancelled into a dash, so avoid starting a long animation when you may need to move immediately.
Use blocking as limited defense
Blocking with F is described as using a guard bar. Repeated hits can break that bar, so holding block through an entire wave is not a substitute for positioning. A timed perfect block is reported to cost no guard and knock an attacker back, but another guide cautions that bosses may continue attacking without being staggered. Treat a perfect block as a timing tool for a threatening hit, not as guaranteed boss control or invulnerability.
Funnel a crowd when possible
One beginner guide reports that only two enemies can attack the player simultaneously and recommends a wall or doorway to funnel a crowd. This is a community observation rather than an independently tested rule. A funnel can still be useful: it keeps the pack in a narrower area for an area skill and reduces the number of directions from which attacks are likely to arrive. Leave yourself an exit so the geometry does not become a trap.

Do not trade hits during recovery
If both weapon kits are on cooldown, the safest response is usually movement and basic attacks, not standing still to exchange damage. Dash around the edge of the group, wait for an opening, and re-enter when a skill or swap gives you a reason to commit. This matters most in boss rooms, where one missed defensive timing can end a run.
Choose a mode that teaches the weapon
Start with Story
The skill guide recommends Story as the starting place for learning stages, waves and bosses. Follow the objective displayed by the selected mode rather than assuming every run uses the same win condition. Story gives you a manageable context in which to learn a weapon’s reach, animation timing and cooldown rhythm before adding harder pressure.
Replay instead of forcing progression
When a new stage repeatedly ends your run, the community advice is to replay an earlier chapter or lower the difficulty. Use those attempts to answer one concrete question: are you losing because enemies take too long to defeat, because a boss hit ends the run, or because you cannot reach a safe position? The answer determines the next upgrade and the next practice goal.
Move to other modes after the basics are familiar
Try additional modes once you can identify enemy wind-ups, group targets for area skills and swap without losing awareness. Entering a harder mode before you understand the weapon’s spacing can make a build appear weak when the real problem is unsafe positioning or mistimed casts.
Spend upgrades on the problem you actually have
The guides describe weapon-specific skill trees, traits, enchants and crafted accessories as progression systems. They support conditional choices rather than a single best build.

The beginner guide reports +15% damage for its first damage node. That is a figure from that guide, not a guaranteed current value; inspect the node in your version before spending resources. Upgrade cost should be weighed against the difficulty you are currently clearing, not an imagined endgame build.
How to compare two weapon setups
When deciding whether to replace one weapon, compare the setups in the same stage and under the same difficulty. The guides support four practical axes:
- Reach and area coverage: Can the pair hit a group without forcing you into the center of danger?
- Cooldown overlap: When the first kit is recovering, does the second have a meaningful skill ready?
- Survivability: Does the setup make it easier to dash, block at the right moment and avoid prolonged contact?
- Upgrade efficiency: Is the next improvement affordable and relevant to the difficulty you are actually playing?
Keep a simple record after a run: which skill defeated the most dangerous pack, which cooldown left you helpless, and what attack caused the most damage taken. Use those observations to change one weapon or one upgrade at a time. Because balance values can change, a community tier list should not override what your current stage and controls are showing you.

The community sources provide useful starting points, but they do not establish permanent mechanics or an official weapon ranking.
