Pair the Bose Solo 5 to an Amazon Echo as a Bluetooth speaker: put the soundbar in pairing mode with its remote, then select it in the Alexa app under the Echo’s Bluetooth settings. The Echo runs Alexa and sends audio to the Solo 5; pairing does not add Alexa features to the soundbar or route your TV’s sound through the Echo.
Pair the Solo 5 with an Echo

Turn on the Solo 5. Press the Bluetooth control on its remote to put the soundbar into pairing mode, then check its Bluetooth indicator to confirm it is ready.

In the Alexa app, open Devices, select your Echo, open Device Settings, choose Bluetooth Devices, then select Pair A New Device.

Choose the Solo 5 from the devices that appear. Menu labels may vary by Echo model or Alexa app version.

For a later connection, turn on Bluetooth and say, “Pair Bluetooth.” Amazon notes that some paired devices may reconnect automatically when they are in range.

What this connection does—and does not do
The Echo is the Alexa device and audio source; the Solo 5 is the Bluetooth output speaker. You can hear Echo audio through the soundbar, but the Solo 5 does not become Alexa-enabled. Pairing the two also does not create a TV-to-Echo connection.

Connect the TV separately for television sound
To hear TV audio from the Solo 5, connect the TV’s audio output directly to the soundbar. Bose documents optical, coaxial, and analog RCA connections, and identifies optical as its preferred digital connection. If the TV has no analog or digital audio output but does have a headphone jack, Bose describes using a 3.5 mm stereo-to-dual-RCA adapter.

Use one cable path at a time, select the corresponding source on the Solo 5, and check the TV’s audio settings for an external-speaker option or the correct output format. Bose’s guide to connecting other devices covers the cable options.
If the Solo 5 does not appear in the Alexa app

Check that the soundbar is still in pairing mode and that its Bluetooth indicator shows it is ready to pair.

Make sure the Solo 5 is not already connected to another device. Disconnect it there and try searching from the Echo again.

If an old pairing is interfering, follow the Solo 5 owner guide’s instructions to clear the soundbar’s Bluetooth pairing list, then repeat the pairing steps.

A separate Bluetooth adapter is not inherently needed: the Solo 5 has Bluetooth pairing built in. Check its own pairing procedure before buying an accessory.
