To upload a Satisfactory blueprint to a PC dedicated server, stop the server, copy both matching files—the .sbp Blueprint Module and its .sbpcfg configuration file—into the running save’s SaveGames/blueprints/{SESSION NAME} directory, then restart the server and reload the save. The exact directory depends on the operating system and the account running the server.
What you are uploading
A Satisfactory blueprint is not a single file. It is a pair:

.sbp: the Blueprint Module containing the layout and design data..sbpcfg: the matching configuration file containing metadata such as the description and icon.
The two files must belong to the same blueprint and must be uploaded together. Uploading only the .sbp file, or pairing it with an unrelated .sbpcfg, can prevent the blueprint from appearing correctly in the in-game Blueprint build menu.
This procedure applies to a PC Satisfactory dedicated server. Console releases cannot use dedicated servers, and console blueprints are embedded in individual saves rather than copied through this server-file workflow.

Blueprint folder locations by server setup
The destination is not the general save-game directory. Blueprints have their own blueprints directory and a final subfolder named for the active session or save. Use the path that matches both the operating system and the account under which the server process runs.

Replace {SESSION NAME} with the exact folder name for the save the server currently loads. Do not put the files only in the parent blueprints directory when a session subfolder exists. A correctly named pair in the wrong session folder is effectively invisible to the save you join.

Before you start
Confirm you have administrator-level file access
You need a host control panel with a file manager, SFTP access, or another administrator-approved transfer method. A web file manager is sufficient if it lets you reach the server’s profile and upload two files. SFTP is useful when the host does not expose the directory in its browser-based manager.
Identify the save or session name
The final directory name is tied to the active session, not merely to the server’s public name. Check the save that the server starts and look for a matching folder beneath SaveGames/blueprints. If several folders exist, use the one corresponding to the save you intend to load. Avoid guessing from a display name if the file manager shows a different folder name.
Make a safety copy
If the host provides backup or restore controls, create a backup before changing server files. Keep the original .sbp and .sbpcfg files on your computer as well. A backup is especially useful when you are working in a service-account profile that is difficult to browse or restore manually.

Step-by-step: upload a blueprint
1. Obtain the complete blueprint pair
Download or export the blueprint so that you have both files. They normally share the same base name while ending in different extensions, for example FactoryLine.sbp and FactoryLine.sbpcfg. Do not rename one file independently, remove an extension, or upload an archive unless your hosting panel explicitly extracts it on the server. The server needs the two blueprint files in their native form.

2. Stop the dedicated server
Use the host panel’s Stop or Shutdown control and wait until the panel reports that the process has ended. If you manage the server through a service manager, stop the service there instead. Editing while the game is running can leave files locked, allow the server to overwrite your upload, or cause the process to continue using an old directory state.
3. Open the profile used by the server process
Navigate to the platform-specific path in the table above. On Linux, begin in the home directory of the account running the dedicated server and continue through .config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames. On Windows, determine whether the process runs as an ordinary user, the NSSM system account, or NetworkService; each account has a different AppDataLocalFactoryGame location.
Do not assume that the profile of the person logged into the desktop is the profile used by a Windows service. If you cannot find the save under your own %LOCALAPPDATA%, inspect the service configuration or ask the host which account owns the process.
4. Open blueprints/{SESSION NAME}
From SaveGames, open blueprints, then open the subfolder whose name matches the active save or session. The final directory is where the files belong. If you see several session folders, compare their names with the save selected by the server rather than placing the files in all of them indiscriminately.

5. Upload both files to that final folder
In a host file manager, choose Upload and select the matching .sbp and .sbpcfg files in the same operation when possible. With SFTP, connect using the credentials supplied by the host, browse to the same session directory, and transfer both files. Wait for each transfer to complete before closing the panel or client.
Check the resulting filenames in the remote directory. The extensions must remain .sbp and .sbpcfg; a browser that silently changes a file to .sbp.txt, or a duplicate such as FactoryLine (1).sbp, may not be recognized as the intended pair.
6. Start the server
Use the host’s Start control or start the service through your normal management method. Allow the server to finish loading the intended save before joining. Starting the process is necessary, but it is not the last step: the game save must be reloaded before downloaded or shared blueprints become available.
7. Reload the save and check the Blueprint build menu
Join the server, reload the save if the game offers a reload or save-selection action, and open the Blueprint build menu. Look for the uploaded blueprint by its metadata, such as its description or icon. If it is absent, stop and diagnose the path, session folder, and file pair before uploading repeatedly.
If the blueprints folder does not exist
A new dedicated-server installation may not create the blueprint directory until at least one blueprint has been created in-game. This is normal and does not necessarily indicate a broken installation.

Generate the directory through the game
- Start the dedicated server and connect to the intended save.
- Create and save any blueprint in-game.
- Stop the server cleanly.
- Refresh the host file manager or reconnect your SFTP client.
- Open the newly generated
SaveGames/blueprintsdirectory and then the session-name subfolder. - Replace or supplement the generated contents with the matching
.sbpand.sbpcfgpair you want to upload.
This method lets the game create the correct hierarchy automatically. With direct filesystem access, an administrator can create the documented directory structure manually, but the final session-name folder still has to correspond to the save loaded by the server.
Why an uploaded blueprint does not appear
Most missing-blueprint problems come from one of four conditions: the files are in the wrong session folder, one of the two files is missing, the server was not restarted and the save was not reloaded, or the files were placed under the wrong operating-system profile.

How to verify the correct session folder
When several saves or sessions are present, use a controlled test rather than guessing. Stop the server, note the directories visible beneath blueprints, and start only the save you intend to use. Create a uniquely named test blueprint in that save, stop the server again, and inspect which session subfolder received the new files. That folder is the destination for externally supplied blueprints for the same save.
After identifying it, remove the test blueprint through the normal in-game or file-management process if you no longer need it, then upload the production pair. Keep the session folder name unchanged; it is the link between the files and the save.

Using a hosting control panel
Open the panel’s file manager only after the server is stopped. Use its path field or folder tree to reach the service account’s FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/blueprints directory. If the panel hides system directories, ask the host to expose the server’s data root or provide SFTP credentials; do not substitute a similarly named personal-game folder.

Using SFTP
Connect with the host-provided server address, port, username, and key or password. Browse to the exact profile path, select the active session directory, and transfer both files. SFTP clients often show transfer status and remote filenames, making it easier to confirm that the upload completed without an extension change. Disconnect only after both transfers report success.

A host that gives console access but no file manager or SFTP may not provide a practical way to install external blueprints. Ask whether the provider supports administrator file uploads for the Satisfactory dedicated-server build and which account owns the process. A restart button alone does not provide access to the required directory.
Choosing a host for blueprint uploads
If you are selecting or changing a dedicated-server host, evaluate the file-management features rather than relying only on a generic game-server label. The useful questions are:
- Does the plan provide a file manager or SFTP access to the server data directory?
- Can you stop and start the process cleanly before and after a file transfer?
- Can support identify the service account and its actual profile path?
- Are backup and restore controls available before editing save-related files?
- Does the host support the Satisfactory dedicated-server build you are running?
These capabilities determine whether you can reliably upload and recover blueprint files. Provider pricing, uptime, and other service claims are separate questions and do not change the required folder structure.
Important scope and limitations
Dedicated-server workflow is for PC
The file paths and upload process described here apply to PC dedicated servers. Console editions do not support dedicated servers, and their blueprints are stored inside individual saves. A console player therefore cannot use an SFTP or host-file-manager upload to add an .sbp pair to a dedicated server.
Blueprint files are separate from ordinary saves
Do not place the pair in the normal save-game file directory and expect it to be detected. The documented location includes the separate SaveGames/blueprints branch and the active session-name folder beneath it. Save files and blueprint files may sit near each other in the profile, but they are not interchangeable.
Keep the server stopped during edits
Stopping before upload is part of the procedure, not an optional precaution. It gives the transfer a stable destination and prevents the running process from locking or overwriting files. Restarting afterward ensures the server and game load the new directory contents.
Quick completion checklist
- Both matching files are available: one
.sbpand one.sbpcfg. - The server is stopped before any file change.
- The operating-system path matches the account running the server.
- The files are inside
SaveGames/blueprints/{SESSION NAME}, not merely inblueprints. - The session folder corresponds to the save the server loads.
- The remote filenames retain their correct extensions and matching base name.
- The server is started again after the transfer.
- The save is reloaded before checking the Blueprint build menu.
Following those checks gives the server the complete blueprint pair in the only location associated with the active save. If the menu is still empty, return to the troubleshooting table and verify the service-account path before attempting another upload.
