To update a Good Lock module, open Good Lock on your Samsung Galaxy phone, find the installed module in Good Lock’s module or app area, and use the update prompt if one is shown. Samsung’s support guidance confirms that additional Good Lock applications can be downloaded or updated inside Good Lock after the main app is set up.
If no update appears, do not assume the module is broken. Samsung says Good Lock application availability varies by device and software version, so first confirm that your phone and current software support that module.
What “updating Good Lock in the Galaxy Store” actually means
Galaxy Store is the starting point for installing Good Lock itself. Samsung’s documented setup is to open Galaxy Store on a Samsung device, search for Good Lock, install it, and open the app. After that setup, Good Lock provides access to additional applications—often called modules—that can be downloaded or updated within Good Lock.

Good Lock is a suite of Samsung customization applications for Galaxy users. Each module adds a particular customization area, and Samsung distributes module availability according to device and software compatibility. These instructions apply to Samsung Galaxy devices; they are not general Android instructions for phones from other manufacturers.
Before you start
Check the following conditions before looking for a module update:
- A compatible Samsung Galaxy device: Good Lock’s features and module availability depend on the phone model and its software version.
- Good Lock installed: If the main app is not installed, obtain it through Galaxy Store before attempting to manage modules.
- The module already identified: Know which installed Good Lock application you want to update so you can find it in Good Lock’s module area.
- A current view of the app: Open Good Lock itself rather than relying on an old notification or a remembered menu location. Samsung can change availability and presentation between software versions.
You do not need a physical accessory or a separate third-party updater for this task. The official workflow uses Galaxy Store for Good Lock installation and Good Lock for the additional applications it manages.

- Open Galaxy Store if Good Lock is not installed. Search for “Good Lock,” install the Samsung app, and open it. If Good Lock is already installed, launch it directly from your app screen.
- Open Good Lock’s module or app area. Review the list of additional Good Lock applications and locate the module you want to update. The exact arrangement can vary with the phone’s software version.
- Check the module’s current state. Look for an available update indication associated with that module. Samsung’s support guidance confirms that Good Lock can download or update additional applications, but it does not prescribe one button label that appears on every device.
- Start the update when an in-app prompt is offered. Select the available update action and follow the on-screen instructions. Keep Good Lock open until the process reports completion or returns you to the module list.
- Reopen the module after the update. Launch the module and verify that it opens normally. If the module still shows an update prompt, note the exact message rather than repeatedly tapping without checking compatibility.
This procedure deliberately avoids naming a fixed control such as “Update all.” Samsung’s published instructions establish that updates are available within Good Lock, while the exact control sequence can differ by module, device, software release, and region.

Why a Good Lock module may not show an update
Your phone or software version is not supported
The most important explanation is compatibility. Samsung states that Good Lock features, settings, and application availability may vary by software version and phone model. A module can therefore be current for one Galaxy device while unavailable or unchanged on another. Check your phone model and installed software version before concluding that the update system is malfunctioning.
The module is already current for your device
An update prompt is conditional. If Good Lock does not offer one, the service may simply have no newer compatible package for your phone at that moment. The absence of a button is not proof that an update exists elsewhere or that an installation failed.
The release has not reached your region
Galaxy Store listings and Good Lock availability can vary by region. A module or update visible in one country may not be offered in another. Use the Galaxy Store associated with your Samsung account and location, and rely on the availability shown on your own Galaxy phone.
Good Lock itself is not set up correctly
If the main Good Lock app is missing, outdated, or unable to load its module area, the individual module list may not be usable. Return to the basic setup path: confirm that Good Lock is installed from Galaxy Store, open it, and then check the module area again.

The app presentation changed after a software update
Samsung does not publish one permanent interface path for every Good Lock release. A menu or label shown in an older guide may not be present on your phone. Follow the current controls visible in Good Lock rather than forcing a remembered sequence from another model or software version.

- Confirm the main app. Make sure Good Lock is installed and opens on the Galaxy device.
- Check the module area again. Look for the desired application among Good Lock’s available modules, not only among the modules already installed.
- Verify compatibility. Samsung’s stated device-and-software caveat applies when a module is absent, unavailable, or cannot be installed.
- Check the local store listing. Regional Galaxy Store catalogs can differ, so use the listing presented to your device and Samsung account.
- Do not sideload an unrelated package as a first response. The official support route is the Galaxy Store plus Good Lock. Installing an unverified package can create a different problem and is not required by Samsung’s documented workflow.
If the module remains unavailable after these checks, the evidence available from Samsung does not establish a universal fix. The limitation may be intentional compatibility or regional availability rather than a failed update.
Good Lock version information and how to interpret it
The Galaxy Store listing displayed Good Lock version 3.0.16.6, dated 2026-07-14, when checked on 2026-10-13. Its release notes said that a problem preventing Good Lock plugins from updating in certain environments had been fixed.
That number is a dated listing snapshot, not a guarantee that 3.0.16.6 is the newest release everywhere. Galaxy Store metadata is dynamic, and the version shown to you can differ by region or change after the listing is updated. Treat the version and release note as a reference point, then check the live listing on your own device before relying on it.
The version of the main Good Lock app and the version of an individual module are not necessarily the same. When diagnosing an update issue, record which item displays the problem—the Good Lock shell or the specific module—so you do not confuse an app update with a module update.

A practical troubleshooting checklist
Use this checklist in order when an expected update is not visible:
- Open Good Lock on the Samsung Galaxy phone rather than another Android device.
- Confirm that the desired module is installed or appears in Good Lock’s available module list.
- Look for the module’s current status and any in-app update prompt.
- Check whether your phone model and software version support that module.
- Check the local Galaxy Store listing, since regional availability can differ.
- Compare the live listing’s version information with any dated version note you are using as a reference.
- If Good Lock itself does not load its module area, return to the Galaxy Store installation path and reopen the app.

Looking only in the phone’s general app-update screen
The documented route for additional Good Lock applications is inside Good Lock. A general list of Galaxy Store applications may not expose the same module-level state, so open Good Lock and check its own module area.
Assuming every Galaxy phone gets every module
Samsung’s availability warning is explicit: device and software version affect which Good Lock applications can be used. A missing module is therefore not automatically evidence of a failed download.
Treating a dated version number as a permanent current release
The 3.0.16.6 listing information was observed on a specific date. Store metadata can change, so do not describe that snapshot as the latest version for all users.

Expecting identical labels on every model
Good Lock’s interface and module presentation can vary. Use the controls shown on your device and avoid relying on a universal tap sequence that Samsung has not documented.
When to contact Samsung support
Contact Samsung support when Good Lock is installed, your device appears eligible, and the module still cannot be downloaded or updated, especially if the app displays a repeatable error. Include your Galaxy model, software version, Good Lock version, affected module, region, and the exact message shown. Those details are more useful than reporting only that “Good Lock will not update.”
