To unlock the Mango Mask in Mortal Shell 2, find Mether’s Flesh beneath the Pulsing Caves Beacon, offer it to the Nightfish near the Outskirts of Nochte, and collect the giant Mango in Mango Sanctuary. Then equip the Mango in your passive item slot and select Mango under Change Masks at a Beacon. The mask is an in-game cosmetic for Harbinger, and it renders only when Harbinger is outside a Shell.
Find Mether’s Flesh beneath the Pulsing Caves Beacon
- Go to the Pulsing Caves Beacon at the northernmost Corrupt Gate in Sanguine Caverns.
- Turn back from the Beacon and look for a hole in the ground. Drop through it; the guide recommends attacking as you fall to avoid landing damage.
- Move past the explosive enemies near the torch, then strike the breakable stalactite wall to open the hidden chamber.
- Take Mether’s Flesh from the podium beside the chest. Dursilite is also reported in this chamber, but it is not needed for the Mango Mask route.
This concealed chamber is the route’s key detour; a map listing places the Mango Mask in Ruins of Nochte and identifies collecting the Mango in Mango Sanctuary as its requirement (iMaps’ Mortal Shell 2 map).
Offer Mether’s Flesh to the Nightfish
- Travel to the Outskirts of Nochte Beacon.
- Follow the route to the cave by the water and find the altar overlooking the Nightfish.
- Offer Mether’s Flesh at the altar. Guide coverage reports that the Nightfish carries you to Mango Sanctuary.
Collect the Mango in Mango Sanctuary
Follow the sanctuary’s single path to the giant Mango and interact with it. The guide reports that collecting the fruit unlocks the Ascension achievement. A creator-video description also summarizes the Nightfish, sanctuary, and passive-mask sequence (Ghosts of Reykjavik’s Mango Mask video).

Equip Mango and select its mask
- Equip Mango in the passive item slot.
- At a Beacon, open Change Masks and choose Mango.
The reported cosmetic applies to Harbinger and is visible only when Harbinger is outside a Shell. If it does not appear while you are inside a Shell, that is consistent with the guide’s stated limitation.

Choose between the active heal and the passive mask
The Mango has two reported uses, but they serve different goals. The precise effects below come from secondary guide and wiki coverage, not an official publisher or patch note; no current patch version is established.

NerdsChalk says the item appears once per playthrough, but that limit is not confirmed by a primary source. If you want the mask, prioritize the passive configuration rather than spending the item for its active heal; if you need the heal, weigh that immediate benefit against the reported cosmetic unlock condition.
