Unlock Overwatch Mythic cosmetics in the in-game Mythic Shop using Mythic Prisms. The exact cost, customization tiers, and availability depend on the item: Blizzard’s original hero-skin model charged 50 Prisms for the base skin and 10 for each of three additional levels, while its Season 19 redesign made the complete hero-skin design available at Tier 1. Check the selected item’s tier panel and the live shop before spending.
How do you unlock an Overwatch Mythic skin?
Open the Mythic Shop in Overwatch, choose an available Mythic cosmetic, and use Mythic Prisms to unlock its tier or tiers. The item’s panel shows the current cost and what each tier adds. Mythic items are digital cosmetics redeemed in the game; the system covers both hero skins and weapon cosmetics.

Blizzard’s original Mythic Shop guidance described two ways to obtain Prisms: progression in the Premium Battle Pass and direct in-game purchase. Its FAQ said completing that pass awarded 80 Prisms, while the free pass and challenges did not award them and Overwatch Coins or Credits could not substitute for Prisms. Those are historical rules, not a promise about every later season’s pass. Check the current pass and in-game shop for the options available to your account.
How many Mythic Prisms does a skin cost?
There is no single tier structure that applies to every Mythic release. Under Blizzard’s original published rules, a hero skin’s base level cost 50 Prisms, followed by three customization levels at 10 Prisms apiece: 80 Prisms for all four levels. Players could unlock levels in sequence or use the shop’s “unlock all” option if they had enough Prisms. Blizzard described the completed Premium Battle Pass in that system as providing 80 Prisms.

Blizzard announced a different structure for Mythic hero skins beginning in Season 19: Tier 1 provides the complete skin design, and later tiers add optional choices, such as components, colors, or ambient effects. Do not assume that a newer skin reveals its full design only after buying every tier, or that its tiers have the same cost or options as an older release. The selected item’s current tier panel is the reliable guide to its price.

Can you still get an older Mythic?
Availability depends on the current Mythic Shop selection. Blizzard’s original FAQ said the season’s featured Mythic left after its featured season and returned after the following two seasons. It also said players who unlocked a featured skin’s base level could continue unlocking its customizations after it left the shop; players who had not unlocked the base level would have to wait for its return. That guidance documents the original system and should not be treated as a complete current rotation schedule.
Blizzard’s season announcements identify individual releases and some returns, but they do not provide a consolidated live catalogue. Look in the game’s Mythic Shop for the current selection and whether a particular older item can be purchased now. A past release announcement alone does not establish present availability.

What are Iridescent Aspects?
Blizzard introduced Iridescent Aspects in Season 16 as special color variants in the Mythic Shop for players who had unlocked every level of an eligible Mythic hero skin. The announcement said most then-available skins were receiving them, with an exception and later date for Juno’s Heart of Hope. Their availability is skin-specific, so check the current shop for the item you own.
