To unlock every vocation in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, start with Fighter, Strider or Mage, reach character level 10, arrive in Gran Soren, and have Discipline Points available. At the vocation-change service, you can buy access to the three advanced vocations—Warrior, Ranger and Sorcerer—and the three hybrid vocations—Assassin, Mystic Knight and Magick Archer. Hybrid vocations are restricted to the Arisen; Pawns cannot use them.
In Dark Arisen, Asalam at the Union Inn in Gran Soren and Olra at Bitterblack Isle Harbor handle vocation changes. Discipline Points are required the first time you unlock a vocation; after it is unlocked, switching among available vocations is free.
The complete vocation unlock list
The game has nine vocations arranged in three groups. Fighter, Strider and Mage are the basic choices available when you create your character. Warrior, Ranger and Sorcerer are advanced vocations. Assassin, Mystic Knight and Magick Archer are hybrid vocations. The grouping, prerequisites and Pawn restriction are summarized below.

The unlock prerequisites and vocation groupings are documented in the Gamer Guides vocation guide. The cited guidance establishes that Discipline is needed, but it does not establish a reliable, vocation-by-vocation price list, so this article does not assign specific Discipline costs.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
What you need before spending Discipline Points
Reach character level 10
Level 10 is the character-level gate for all six unlockable vocations. Reaching level 10 by itself is not enough: the vocation options also depend on your progress to Gran Soren and on having Discipline Points to spend.
Reach Gran Soren
You must have reached Gran Soren before the advanced and hybrid choices become available. If your character is already level 10 but the new vocations are not offered, confirm that you have reached the city rather than relying on level alone.
Have Discipline Points ready
Discipline Points are the currency used when a vocation is unlocked for the first time. The available evidence confirms the requirement but not dependable exact prices for each of the six vocations. Keep a sufficient balance before opening the vocation-change service, and treat any amount shown in your game as the authoritative cost for your edition and character.
Understand the Arisen restriction
The Arisen can use all nine vocations once the requirements are met. Pawns cannot use Assassin, Mystic Knight or Magick Archer. That restriction is about the hybrid group itself, not about whether your Arisen has previously used one of the component vocations.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Step-by-step: unlock the six non-basic vocations
- Choose a starting vocation. At character creation, select Fighter, Strider or Mage. These are the three basic vocations and do not require the level-10 Gran Soren gate.
- Raise the character to level 10. Check the character level, not a Pawn’s level, when deciding whether the Arisen has met the requirement.
- Progress to Gran Soren. The advanced and hybrid categories remain gated until you have reached the city.
- Accumulate Discipline Points. The first purchase of each new vocation consumes Discipline Points. The sources do not provide a verified universal cost for each vocation, so do not plan around an uncited number.
- Open a vocation-change service. In Gran Soren, speak with Asalam at the Union Inn. In Dark Arisen, you can also use Olra at Bitterblack Isle Harbor.
- Choose the vocation you want to unlock. Select an advanced or hybrid vocation that is now listed, confirm the Discipline expenditure shown by the game, and complete the change.
- Repeat for the remaining vocations. Each of the six unlockable vocations is treated as its own first-time unlock. Once a vocation is unlocked, you can return to the service to switch to it without paying another unlock fee.
The two change locations and the distinction between first-time unlock costs and later free switching are summarized by the Dragon’s Dogma Wiki vocation category.
Advanced vocations
Warrior
Warrior is one of the three advanced vocations. It becomes selectable after the Arisen is at least level 10, has reached Gran Soren and can pay the required Discipline Points at a vocation-change service.
Ranger
Ranger follows the same access rules as Warrior: level 10, Gran Soren and Discipline Points. It is an advanced vocation rather than a hybrid, so the game does not require a separate hybrid pairing step to make it available.

Hybrid vocations and their pairings
The hybrid group contains Assassin, Mystic Knight and Magick Archer. The pairings below describe how the game groups the hybrids; they are not an additional instruction to level both component vocations before the hybrid can be purchased.
| Pairing shown by the guide | Hybrid vocation | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| Fighter / Strider | Assassin | Arisen only |
| Fighter / Mage | Mystic Knight | Arisen only |
| Strider / Mage | Magick Archer | Arisen only |
Assassin
Assassin is the Fighter/Strider hybrid grouping. After level 10 and arrival in Gran Soren, the Arisen can unlock it with Discipline Points. A Pawn cannot select Assassin.
Mystic Knight
Mystic Knight is associated with the Fighter/Mage pairing. It uses the same general gate and first-time Discipline purchase as the other unlockable vocations, and it is available only to the Arisen.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

Magick Archer is the Strider/Mage hybrid grouping. The Arisen can unlock it after meeting the common requirements; Pawns are excluded from the hybrid category.

Where to change vocation in Dark Arisen
Asalam at the Union Inn
In Gran Soren, Asalam at the Union Inn is the principal vocation-change contact. Visit him after the level and city requirements are satisfied, then select an available vocation and confirm the Discipline cost shown in the service.
Olra at Bitterblack Isle Harbor
Dark Arisen also provides Olra at Bitterblack Isle Harbor as a vocation-change option. This gives you a second location for unlocking or changing vocations once that area is accessible to your character.
First unlock versus later switching
The first time you obtain a vocation, Discipline Points are required. After that unlock is recorded, switching among vocations you have already unlocked is free. Unlocking a vocation and changing into it are therefore separate events: the payment happens at access acquisition, not every time you equip the vocation later.

You reached Gran Soren but have no Discipline Points
The vocation can be gated by the required Discipline balance even when the character level and location are correct. Accumulate more Discipline Points and return to Asalam or Olra.
You are checking a Pawn for a hybrid
Assassin, Mystic Knight and Magick Archer are Arisen-only vocations. A Pawn will not receive those options, so changing the Pawn’s level or visiting a different NPC will not remove that restriction.
You expected to level both parts of a pairing
The Fighter/Strider, Fighter/Mage and Strider/Mage labels identify the hybrid pairings. The guide does not state that you must first level both component vocations. Check the normal level-10, Gran Soren and Discipline requirements instead.
You are looking for an exact universal price
Published guidance confirms that Discipline is required but does not reliably establish a single exact cost for every vocation. Use the amount displayed in your own vocation-change menu rather than relying on an uncited list.
A practical unlock order
You are not required to follow a special order among the six unlockable vocations. Once the common gate is open, choose based on which category you want to access first:
- Unlock an advanced vocation first if you want to expand the standard vocation groups before considering hybrids.
- Unlock a hybrid first if you are playing as the Arisen and specifically want Assassin, Mystic Knight or Magick Archer.
- Unlock several at once if you have enough Discipline Points and want to avoid making multiple trips to the change service.
- Leave a reserve of Discipline Points if you are unsure which vocation to choose; the exact costs are displayed by the game, while later switching is free once each choice is unlocked.
This order is a planning preference, not a hidden prerequisite. The documented requirements are shared by the advanced and hybrid groups.
Unlocking every vocation: final checklist
- Fighter, Strider and Mage were available as your three starting choices.
- The Arisen has reached character level 10.
- The Arisen has reached Gran Soren.
- You have Discipline Points available for first-time unlocks.
- You know where to go: Asalam at the Union Inn or Olra at Bitterblack Isle Harbor.
- You have accounted for all three advanced vocations: Warrior, Ranger and Sorcerer.
- You have accounted for all three hybrids: Assassin, Mystic Knight and Magick Archer.
- You are attempting hybrids on the Arisen, not on a Pawn.
- You understand that each first unlock uses Discipline Points, while switching among unlocked vocations is free.
Once those checks are complete, every vocation in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is available through the vocation-change service: three basic choices, three advanced choices and three Arisen-only hybrids.
