Limited-time modes in Call of Duty: Mobile rotate with seasonal content, so there is no permanent unlock code or universal quest. Open the current Multiplayer or Battle Royale mode list, then use the in-game Events tab to see whether the activity is selectable now, what missions or match objectives it requires, when it ends, and which rewards are available. Follow the instructions on that specific mode or event card; an older season’s unlock method may not apply to the current build.
What “limited-time mode” means in Call of Duty: Mobile
A limited-time mode (LTM) is a temporary activity added as part of seasonal content. Activision’s official game information describes seasons as packages that can add modes, maps, themed events and rewards. When the season or event window closes, its activity can disappear from the normal mode list, be replaced by another activity, or return later in a different form.
That rotation explains why instructions from an old video or article can fail even when they were accurate when published. A mode that appeared in a previous season is not evidence that it is available in October 2026. Treat the game client’s current mode list and event card as the authority for your account and region.

- Open the mode-selection screen. From the main lobby, enter the current Multiplayer or Battle Royale mode list. Look for a tile, playlist or event-labelled activity that is not part of the ordinary permanent rotation.
- Open Events. Select the in-game Events tab and inspect the active cards. The card should show the event’s dates, assignments or missions, and the rewards attached to completion. The official Season 3 announcement specifically directs players to this tab for season information, including Daily Missions rewards and Monthly Login incentives.
- Read the activity’s own instructions. Some LTMs can be entered directly by selecting their tile. Others expose the activity only after you complete an event step, or require an objective during a match before the special encounter becomes usable.
- Confirm the closing date and reward rules. Note whether the card requires a single match, repeated missions, daily logins, a full assignment chain, or another condition. Complete only the tasks that fit the remaining time; a reward can be unavailable after the event window ends even if you started its mission earlier.
- Launch from the same card or playlist. Use the button shown by the current event rather than searching an old menu path. Menus can move between seasons, while the card normally points to the active entry point.
If no event tile or matching card appears, the most likely explanation is that the activity is not live for your current build or region. A missing button is not normally fixed by buying an item or installing a physical accessory; official materials do not identify a separate edition, controller or phone accessory as an unlock requirement.

Unlock methods are activity-specific
Two official seasonal examples show why a generic recipe is unsafe. They belong to different seasons and use different mechanics:

The table describes access patterns, not a permanent ruleset. A future season can combine them or replace them, so always use the wording on the currently displayed card.
Example: the Season 8 Quantum Platform activity
In the official Season 8 Quantum Platform example, access happened inside a Battle Royale match rather than through a one-click permanent unlock. Squads had to locate a marked contract, complete it, defend a teleporter while it charged, and then enter the portal.

- Find the marked contract shown by the match’s objective indicator.
- Complete the contract’s requirements. Do not assume that merely reaching the marker activates the activity.
- Protect the teleporter while its charge completes. The objective is time- and location-dependent, so coordinate with the squad instead of leaving immediately after starting it.
- Enter the portal when the game indicates that it is ready. The portal sequence is the use step for this example, not a universal requirement for every LTM.
If the contract or teleporter is absent, check that you launched the correct live playlist and that the event card still lists the activity. A normal Battle Royale match will not necessarily contain an objective from a retired or different-season event.

Example: a faction unlocked through assignments
A separate official Season 5 themed-event example used progression rather than a portal. The second faction became available only after players completed all assignments for the first faction. The practical sequence was:
- Open the themed event in Events and choose the faction that the card makes available first.
- Review every assignment, including any match, login or activity conditions shown on the card.
- Complete the full first-faction assignment set. Partial progress does not equal the stated prerequisite.
- Return to the event card and claim or acknowledge any completion step the interface presents.
- Select the newly available second faction and read its separate assignments before starting another match.
This example does not mean every LTM has factions, nor that all events unlock content in the same order. It demonstrates why the card’s prerequisite text matters more than a remembered walkthrough.
How to use an LTM once it is unlocked
Check the objective before queueing
Read the event card’s task wording and reward conditions before pressing Start. Determine whether progress is tied to a particular playlist, a number of matches, a win, a daily login, an in-match interaction or completion of an assignment chain. If the card names a map or mode, selecting a similar-looking playlist may not count.

Launch from the Multiplayer or Battle Royale tile named by the card. If the event supplies a dedicated button, use it; the client may route you to a special queue that is not visible under ordinary filters. When a card says an objective occurs in a match, enter that specified match first and look for the marker rather than expecting a lobby button.

Follow on-screen markers
Temporary activities commonly explain their interaction in the match HUD. Read the prompt at the objective, watch for a progress or charge indicator, and stay within the required area when the instruction says to defend or wait. If your squad leaves before the objective completes, the event may not advance even though the contract was found.
Track credit immediately after the match
Return to the Events tab after a match and verify that the assignment counter or reward track changed. This distinguishes a completed objective from a match that merely looked similar. If credit is missing, record the exact playlist and objective you used before trying again; that information makes it easier to identify a mode mismatch or an expired card.
Claim rewards before the window closes
Some cards separate completing a mission from claiming its reward. Open the card, select each completed reward, and confirm that the item or currency appears in the indicated inventory area. A completed counter is not a guarantee that an unclaimed reward remains available after the event end time.
Comparing two or more live activities
When several temporary activities appear, compare the information shown by their cards rather than choosing solely by name. These four fields answer the practical questions of access and value:

Official announcements document examples of these differences, but they do not establish which activity is live for every player at a later date. The current in-game card wins if an announcement and the client disagree.

Seasonal announcements are useful for explaining how a past activity worked, but they are not a live schedule. For example, the 2026 Season 3 announcement listed the Spring Invasion event from 16 March through 5 April 2026 and said that logins and missions were needed to earn all available rewards. Those dates are historical; they do not state what is active in October 2026.
Use an older announcement to recognize terminology or understand a mechanic, then verify three things in the current client:

- The mode or event tile is present in your Multiplayer or Battle Royale list.
- The Events card shows an unexpired window and the same prerequisite language.
- The reward track and mission counters are available on your account.
If any of those checks fails, stop following the old sequence. The activity may have ended, rotated out, or been changed for a new season.

Troubleshooting when an LTM will not unlock
The mode is not listed
- Open both Multiplayer and Battle Royale; the activity may belong to only one.
- Check Events for a card that names the mode. A mode can be event-gated rather than permanently listed.
- Confirm that the card’s date has not passed. Seasonal availability is temporary.
- Restart or update the game only if the current client indicates an update is pending; do not expect an update to restore an event that has ended.
The event is visible but the objective does not appear
- Verify that you selected the exact playlist named by the card, not a standard variant.
- Read whether the objective requires a contract, assignment or prior faction step.
- Enter a fresh match and look for the marker after the match has loaded; a lobby preview alone does not complete an in-match prerequisite.
- Check the card again after the match to see whether progress registered.
The second stage remains locked
- Review the first stage’s assignment list for an unfinished item.
- Confirm that “complete all assignments” means every listed task, not merely earning one reward.
- Claim or acknowledge the first-stage completion if the card presents a separate button.
- Reopen the event after completion to refresh the displayed unlock state.
A reward is missing
- Open the event card and check whether the reward still has a Claim button.
- Confirm that the mission counter belongs to the same event and playlist.
- Check the event’s closing time; an expired card can stop accepting claims.
These checks cannot make a retired activity live again. If the card is absent or expired, wait for a future rotation or a new official announcement instead of treating the absence as a device-accessory or paid-edition problem.
A repeatable checklist for every seasonal rotation
- Open the current Multiplayer and Battle Royale lists.
- Open Events and identify every card with a temporary mode or reward track.
- Write down each card’s end date, prerequisite and reward condition.
- Choose the card that matches the time you have and the mode you want to play.
- Follow its exact sequence: direct queue, event assignments, or in-match objective.
- Check progress in Events after each match or login.
- Claim completed rewards before the displayed window ends.
- Recheck the client after a season changes; do not assume the previous LTM or unlock path carried over.
What you need—and what you do not
The official materials reviewed describe LTMs as in-game seasonal content. They do not specify a separate physical game edition, special controller, phone accessory or repair item required to unlock them. Access is determined by the live playlist and event rules shown in your current game build. Normal account access and an up-to-date client may be necessary for the game itself, but the event announcements do not establish a special hardware threshold.
Bottom line
To unlock and use a limited-time mode, find it in the current Multiplayer or Battle Royale list, open its Events card, and complete the exact condition written there. That condition may be direct selection, an event assignment chain, or an objective inside a match such as the marked contract and teleporter sequence used by the Season 8 Quantum Platform example. Check the card’s dates and rewards every time: seasonal announcements explain past content, while your current in-game Events tab determines what you can play now.
